Esper_Jones
Heh, when the combat triangle guide got updated, there are some interesting fragments hidden in there. When wandering into the Wilderness you will find that your opponents, particularly those with high combat levels or extensive RuneScape experience, will have a costume change midway through a fight. This is not to impress you - this is an alternative set of armour or weapons to disorientate your attack or to take advantage of your weaknesses - and is usually a complete shift to another corner of the combat triangle. There is no reason to worry too much about these pk-killers, they are usually of such a high level that they will be unable to attack you in Wilderness areas. Hmm, apparently high levels don't read the knowledge base! Player killers will often take two weapons to maximise the damage to an opponent's (i.e. your) hitpoints. Melee fighters in particular will take a strong weapon and a poisoned weapon, so as to drain hitpoints while inflicting melee damage. Is this an "Anti-pk" guide? It is possible that an opponent will be 'pure' in a set skill. This means that he, or she, has worked on particular skills. By focusing on one element the adventurer will appear low-level, but will be able to inflict a large amount of hit point damage. Inversely, they will have low defence and will take a battering if you manage to inflict any damage JageX finally defines the term pure! It is best to cross into the Wilderness with something more than a packet of peanuts. Hmm, a new item? Packet of peanuts - 25 heals of 1 damage each! http://kbase.runescape.com/lang/en/aff/runescape/viewarticle.ws?article_id=1702 Jack of all trades, master of thieving. 259th to 99 thieving. Darkluniux
Jagex and pures... This is a very hard topic... Many of you may think Jagex hates pures, but it is not true! I already saw 2-3 pures account with a nice silver crown next to their names... Pures can be player mods too! Insteresntly! http://darkluniux.blogspot.comBehold my blog! All they have to do is report a few people. And even though they're player mods, it doesn't mean 99% of them don't walk around RuneScape acting like their god and telling everyone that "there mane wil pwn u." Yes, the people who first evented the "pure" and better pking tactics were the so called "geniouses," but most pkers are just people with alot of gold pieces who drop trade loads of stuff to noob accounts, and go kill other players with them. :XD:

Even if drop trading were, somehow, impossible--people would make a new character and make money off something like mining or fishing to fund their pure. the drop trading just speeds up the process. without drop trading pures would take even more time for an average player to make and--therefore would be even more lethal because they'd still be low combat level but would take even more invested time and would be FAR stronger than the majority. (a drop traded, well skilled pure of level x may take 500 hours, one built from scratch may take 2000 to get to same level x) imagine being one of the few pures amongst your level group? 100 Combat91 Strength70 Defense82 Attack85 Magic =)

darkblade986
ive never understood this argument. Even if drop trading were, somehow, impossible--people would make a new character and make money off something like mining or fishing to fund their pure. the drop trading just speeds up the process. I was thinking of making a Defense Pure, and I actually got him to about 17 DEF before I got tired of him. But how I got his levels up was, well first off I had a friend make me some Iron Armor (not illegal since I didn't make the armor myself) and I just trained on Chickens. I kept the feathers and the plan was to sell them for money. Given, it was slow, but those 17 DEF levels got me about 1000 Feathers, which translates into an easy 5k (Remember, this is a new account, 5k is alot at those levels). With that, I could probably take a shot at Steel Armor or something, but if you kept killing chickens, then you'd keep getting feathers and you'd eventually have enough money for full Rune armor. I'd love to go around with a 99 DEF pure, walk into the wilderness and walk up to a 99 STG pure... That would be an interesting fight... Our HP would be the same (almost), so it would make for a somewhat even fight. We'd both only be able to use Iron Weapons, at best, and I'd use Rune Armor then too, since I'd be able to. Well, you tell me who'd win? 99DEF with Rune + Iron vs 99STG with Iron + Iron? With only 1 ATK, he'd never get through Rune Armor, and since he's in Iron Armor, my Iron Scimitar would be able to cut through it a lot easier, even if it's only 1s. don't worry, you are going to "hell" anyway. wanna race to see who gets there first?Officially reached 100 Combat at 1:33PM EST, June 14, 2007First Dragon Drop: Dragon Chain (Dust Devils) @ 10:48PM EST, July 14, 2008, lv113 combat
