In remembrance of Steve Irwin

Featured Replies

Just saw on the news, Steve Irwin (the crocodile hunter) has had a heart attack after being stung by a stingray  Left behind 2 kids and his wife, I'll get a link later or if someone could post one for me that would be great. (Have to go out now).

Granted it's a shame that someone died, but I really didn't like the guy much.

Australians can rest in peace knowing they wont made fun of for saying Crikey anymore.

Crikey that had to hurt though.

I don't like how because of him the rest of the world thinks all Australians act/talk/look like him but he was a pretty nice guy so yeah =\

And to the above comment about how he died, I just saw it on the news while walking past and it said he died of a heart attack so thats why I posted it :?

Nice guy yes. His work was great, both in promoting Australia and his efforts with wild-life.

Wow... It finally happened. All those times you watch his shows and wonder when an animal is finally going to kill him. Not that I wanted him to die or anything... That's sad though...

On that note, I know a lot of people who will be disapointed that it wasn't a croc that got him.

Like in Dr Doolittle or whatever it is. Dunno which one it is - I'm sure someone knows.

I just watched a Dane Cook act about why Steve Irwin hasn't died yet last night... :| You have to admit though, it was bound to happen eventually. May he rest in peace. :(

This was posted on my IMDb board a short while ago too lol :P It's so sad though. :(

Me doing staff.

Damn, R.I.P.

Totally unexpected, he really was a good bloke.

I kind of figured he'd die at some point. He's always messing with those animals, and it was bound for one to do something about it.

That guy was always crazy. Now who will we have to look up to. Now who is going to hunt those pesky crocadiles. That sucks. Crikey, Steve, Crikey.

That sucks. Guess it was just a matter of time until fate caught up with him.

Crikey!

Stingrays do not attack aggressively, or even actively defend themselves. When threatened their primary reaction is to swim away. However, when they are attacked by predators or stepped on, the barbed stinger in their tail is mechanically whipped up, usually into the offending foot.

And i also remember being told that same thing at the Melbourne Aquarium, stingrays wont attack unless they are provoked, so it wouldn't surprise me if he was stirring it up, considering the way he has interacted with dangerous animals in the past.

Anyway, sad thing to happen. May he RIP.

Wow, that's unfortunate. We never think it will happen to someone so influential and popular. He will be missed. R.I.P Mr. Irwin...

This is really sad. He was such a cool guy. I looked up to him for his bravery. It was bouned to happen some day, but it wasn't supposed to. In loving memory
