September 7, 200619 yr So youve got many songs you listen, but not all songs are populair, and succesful in the world, in general. But you think they are very good, and you dont know why it never became a hit. Have you got songs that you want to recommend to people? Id like to recommend songs from the album ''Stadium Arcadium'', made by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Its full of very good songs, I listed the best below. 1: She looks to me 2: Wet Sand 3: Slow Cheetah 4: Death of a Martian 5: Especially in Michigan I could go on till number 15 (yes, there are 15 songs I like from that album) but this is enough. :XD: [http://woopidoo2.deviantart.com][Tip.it Moderator from Dec 10, 2006 to 03 Sep, 2008]
September 7, 200619 yr This may sound kinda weird, but I want to keep the songs that only I (and a few others) no about a secret. Why? It's not to say "Oh, I knew about them like a year ago" if they make it big, I just don't want them to make it big. Call me selfish, but songs like this I want keeping quiet, because I feel it is so often the way now that publicity and media dilutes the song's meaning and impact. I mean, look at the Hurt cover by Johnny Cash. Yes, many people already knew it, but now there's going to be a new wave of people relating to it as that "Nike advert song" - missing the entire point of the song. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
September 7, 200619 yr Hope There's Someone by Antony and the Johnsons. Sent it to all my friends as soon as I heard it, at first they all laughed when they heard the slightly wailing, soppy vocals, but as they kept on listening i'd say 90% of them agreed that it really was beautiful and surprisingly moving. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
September 8, 200619 yr i completely 100% agree with bubsa. i like a lot of underground bands and if i tell people..then there gonna be sell outs in few. fA thats all im giving you for a hint

A few artists that I know and love I really just sort of want for myself. It's pretty weird.

The 10-20 people that will read this won't make too much of a difference. Besides, spread the love! :) Some of my favourite songs to chill: -Sorry that the list is so long, I wanted to cut it down but that would be unfair for all those songs I had to leave out ;) I have a few playlists of my favourtie artist in my collection, I just used them- Eels: That's Not Really Funny/ Your Lucky Day in Hell/ Fresh Feeling/ Novocaine for the Soul/ Susan's House/ Beautiful Freak/ Blinking Lights (For Me)/ My Beloved Monster/ Hey Man (Now You're Really Living)/ Old [cabbage]/New [cabbage]/ In The Yard, Behind The Church/ Numbered Days/ Bride Of Theme From Blinking Lights/ The Other Shoe/ Love of the Loveless/ Trouble With Dreams/ Suicide Life/ Theme From Blinking Lights/ Spunky/ I Like Birds/ Souljacker Part I/ Mr. E's Beautiful Blues/ Grace Kelly Blues/ Going To Your Funeral Pt2/ Flyswatter/ Fresh Feeling, again/ Your Lucky Day in Hell, again/ Last Stop This Town This is the playlist I combined last week. I have 9 CDs of Eels, some live recordings, and I took my favourites out of evry one of them and tried to put them in a good order. Bright Eyes: The entire CD 'Digital Ash in a Digital Urn'. The songs aren't meant to be heard separately. Sigur RÃÆÃâÃâós: The () album: fantastic music to listen to while lying in the garden or when you need to study with a calm and serene sound on the background. TÃÆÃâÃâákk, Von and Agaetis Byrjun albums: they're always able to switch my mood from moody to happy. MÃÆÃâÃâúm: entire collection is fantastic, there's not a single flaw in it. My favourite post-rock band. The Arcade Fire: My personal favourite musical revelation this year, and I've discovered a lot of beauties. Their inspirational and orchestral indie sound seems to be divine, really. Every single time I listen to their fantastic debut album, Funeral, I get shivers down my spine and a wave of euphoria takes a hold of me. Songs like 'Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)', 'Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)', 'Wake Up', 'Rebellion (Lies)' and especially 'In the Backseat' really provoke the cheerful feeling you get when you're in love. I'm sure I'll love this band even 70 years from now, if I still am able to properly hear them at least. My advice to everyone that's mature enough to like something more than common rock: buy yourself the Funeral album, work yourself into the music of Sigur RÃÆÃâÃâós, MÃÆÃâÃâúm, Mogwai and all other great post-rock bands and you'll see there's plenty more good music next to other good, but common rock classics like the RHCP, the Queens or SoaD. September 9, 200619 yr NO OY!!! bye sigur..and Eels, seeya on MTV. Sigur RÃÆÃâÃâós is already the most commonly known post-rock band and Eels has been around for more than a decade. Madonna and even Pamela Anderson listen to Sigur RÃÆÃâÃâós :( I would'nt want the Arcade Fire to become awefully mainstream, that would ache my heart. But the others... they're either on their way or are already there. Besides, I don't have the time to post everything I love, just go to: http://www.last.fm/user/Oy_/ and I hope you'll find some other beauties. September 9, 200619 yr Arcade fire is huge in Montreal, and eastern Canada...so umm..no logner underground please. The Eels FTW.
September 9, 200619 yr Arcade fire is huge in Montreal, and eastern Canada...so umm..no logner underground please. The Eels FTW. Well, obviously, since they're Canadian. There are a few bands that are heroic in Belgium, but very unknown in the US or everywhere outside 500 miles from Belgium. I bet you don' know dEUS, for example. September 9, 200619 yr I only listen to pop-music. And as pop-music is well known (and generally though of as crap), there's no reason to post any; you all know them already! But thanks for the songs given in this topic, I'll be sure to check some of it out! Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!

September 9, 200619 yr Hm, there is something to share. It's a Dutch artist called Spinvis. His lyrics are in Dutch, find a translation of his lyrics, print it out. Download the CD (as you can't get it if you're from the US or something), and just listen to it with the printed lyrics. Grab a drink with it and just relax, enjoy the poetry. :) albums: Spinvis - Spinvis Spinvis - Dagen van Gras, dagen van stro live: Spinvis - Nieuwegein aan zee. Great band though... if you're gonna listen to them check out Two Coins, Bang Bang, or The General
September 18, 200619 yr Anything by The Raconteurs, no one I have talked to has EVER heard of them.
September 18, 200619 yr The Beatles: While My Guitar Gentley Weeps, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, Hey Jude Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here, Comfortably Numb, Goodbye Blue Sky The Who: Pinball Wizard, Won't Get Fooled Again, Teenage Wasteland The Rolling Stones: Angie, Beast Of Burden, Brown Sugar :3> With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
September 19, 200619 yr Anything by The Raconteurs, no one I have talked to has EVER heard of them. What rock have they been living under? Anyway, the one song everyone should hear is The Light & The Glass by Coheed and Cambria. Muwhahahahaha. Mugutu
