I just came back after a 6 week layoff (due to no t'internet) and have done the eyes of glouphrie quest now is it just me or is that an homage to the old british tv show 'the adventure game'. I mean even down to the aspidistra. I hope I'm not going mental cos I loved that show so somebody tell me I'm not dreaming

September 23, 200619 yr I remember the show - and yes, when I saw the aspidistra, it floated through my mind for a moment. The whole business with the coloured tokens and the maths problems, and the design of the machinery, seemed to fit with that theme too. Just a shame we didn't get a cut scene with Keith Chegwin being vapourised by the end game...

I'd forgotten that the currency in the game was, effectively, identical to the 'currency' in the quest.

September 23, 200619 yr Exactly like yourself, I've been away for a while and did that quest yesterday. Spotted exactly the same thing. As soon as I 'examined' the aspidistra and it said 'dronga, dronga', I knew what the machine was all about. A friend of mine is now going to do the quest, just so he can see the aspidistra - he's of the same age group as us. I didn't post about it cos I thought it might be old news - but obviously not. Oh, I'm 38 for anyone who cares! Why is 'common sense' so named, when there is so little of it about?Welcome to puberty, we've been expecting you.
