September 24, 200619 yr Not a guide, although it may become one later. Post where you like to hop, the tactics you use hopping, and the benefits you get from it. Runescape has locations that have slow respawn, yet with a quick jump to another server you'll find the item you're collecting higher than the 0 in stock you left on another server. Here are some common areas I think world hopping is popular to exploit. ~~Battlestaffs~~ Worldhop locations - Varrock Staff Shop, Mage Guild, Baba Yaga on Lunar Island Costs - 7k to ??k Bulk Price - ??k Benefit - Battlestaffs made into elemental battlestaffs that alc for 9.3k each Downside - Only 5 per shop, allowing only 1k to 2k profit per staff. ~~Element Runes~~ Worldhop locations - Port Sarim Magic Shop, Varrock Magic Shop, Magic Guild Costs - 4 to 24 Bulk Price - 15 to 20 Benefit - upto 5k in stock Downside - airs normally bought down so that profit not so high. ~~Combat Runes~~ Worldhop locations - Port Sarim(Chaos and Death only), Varrock Magic Shop (Chaos and Death only), Mage Guild, Baba Yaga, Wilderness Bank, Al Morrisane Costs - 92 to 112 Chaos, 200 to 225 death, 400 to 500 bloods Bulk Price - 150 Chaos, 300 Deaths, 600 Bloods Benefit - Cheap enough to justify for own use Downside - 250 max in stock ~~Other Runes~~ See combat runes for locations ~~Vials~~ Worldhop Locations - Ardougne General Store, Shilo Village store, Taverly Herb store Costs - 15 gp (verify?) Bulk Price - 150 to 200 Benefit - MUCH faster than crafting, sells well in bulk Downside - low stocks, low profit margin ~~Seaweed/Soda Ash~~ Worldhop Locations - any charter ship pier (Catherby is best) Costs - 5 gp Bulk Price - 500 Benefit - 30 items when maxed, making for good profit Downside - all stores connected, easily sold out ~~Runite~~ Worldhop Locations - Heroes Guild, ME2 cave, Wilderness Costs - N/A Bulk Price - 12k to 15k Benefit - Pure profit from rocks Downside - SLOW (10 to 15 min) respawn, dangerous or crowded world hopping ~~Blast Furnace~~ Worldhop Locations - Keldagrim Blast Furnace Costs - Varied, Mith 225 to 675, Coal 67 to 200, Iron 20 to 60, Silver 100 to 300, Gold 200 to 600 Bulk Price - Mith 500, Coal 200, Iron 100, Silver 300, Gold 500 Benefits - Many world hop here to make mith or steel plates and high alchemy on site as the oar is cheaper to buy and smelt here than from other players. Others make mith bars and bank them. Still others may buy the gold and silver which sell at a profit Downside - 2 to 4 minute trip to bank and back. Ore gets pricey as stock decreases. Side Benefit: Solo'ing the blast furnace, using the store to unnote coal, one can smelt and bank Mithril, Adamant and Runite bars faster than using the Port Phantasmys furnace or even superheat. Players can "store" upto 255 coal in the blast furnace. These are the ones that come to mind for me. Post your own world hopping exploits. Maybe we can get a guide together? September 24, 200619 yr Pest control chaos&death stock beats everywhere else. Shilo Village waterfilled vial stock is OK, but not high enough to hit your pin every world, last time I checked, there isn't a deposit box in the bank. Ardougne general store is the best at "low-points" in population throughout the day, because that store stocks up to 500 at 12 each (the highest cost, not that it matters much anyway.) But at populated times of the day, the general store is dead useless to buy vials. If I can think of more, I will edit/post. Oh, and I actually have this happen to me a lot; I notice that some people go to the same order of worlds that I go through, e.g Swiftswitch puts worlds in numerical order, RuneScape world selection page puts it in whatever order you have it defaultly set in (population, server location, numerical order, et cetera.) I, go by numerical order, and it's funny to see people going to the same world you are going to at every hop, so I just go to the opposite end of the world list and hit all the shops there. Normally, the stores on the other end are highly stocked.
September 24, 200619 yr What about people who are generally trying to sell something? Like forum text games much?um... from... MARS, yes, in the third county from the... left.
September 24, 200619 yr Please don't list Baba Yaga's shop. The shaking gives me a headache. Advil is already a very rich company, don't make them richer. ----Hoppage--- *Broad Arrows* WH Locals -> Any slayer master, all their stocks are the same (tied together). Costs -> Too god damn much. Bulk Price -> See "Costs" Benefit -> Keeps the price from dipping too low. Downsides -> Too much hopping makes my brain hurt. *Gem Mining* WH Locals -> Shilo V, the only place to be Benefit -> If you get a world with no one else there that's very good for you. Downsides -> There's always atleast 3 people on each world there. >o< *Chaos Selling* WH Locals -> TzHaar Magic Shop Tokkul Per -> Forgot to write this down Benefit -> If the shop stock of chaos is lower you get more tokkul to a point Downsides -> As a pokemon game would said . . . it's not very effective. ---End Hoppage--- That's all I can think of for now. But "bacab thinking" is an oxymoron. :-$ We don't rebel to sell it just suits us well, we're the bright young things.
September 24, 200619 yr rune mining at my magical location..thats all i'll say :anxious: Theres only so many places to mine rune.... End of Lava Maze, 43 wilderness, Heroes Guild, Dark Beasts 99 Crafting Blog
September 24, 200619 yr What about people who are generally trying to sell something? Why would you want to sell something to general store? The only reason I could think of is to get rid of large amounts of products. For example, coifs, hard leather bodies, uncut willow longs, etc. My general rule of thumb is if it's not worth the time to sell to another player, then alch it. If it's not worth alching, sell it to general store, and if it's not worth selling to the general store, note and drop. Another thing I worth hopping worlds for is rune arrowtips, I believe you can take out the first 50-100 for an average cost of 250-300each. It is OK xp and OK cash. I do recall that the best place to do this was Ranger's guild, but I think Catherby was OK too.. Mith arrowtips are very good at King Lathas' Training Ground, I believe.
September 24, 200619 yr Author Jon, there are two reasons to world hop to sell that I know about: Tokkul and Trading sticks. There may be others, but none come to mind. True, if it's not worth alchemying, you may just want to sell the lot on forums for someone bored enough to sell the items to the store for profit. Baba Yaga has one MAJOR downside: her costs increase 10x the amount of any other rune store. Her "bouncing" I did not notice, but I guess that could be a downside. September 24, 200619 yr At the Magic Store, you don't have to hop to get more tokkul, after you sell 10 chaos runes, it is already down to 9 tokkul per chaos. So after the shop is stocked at 260 chaos (I don't think I have seen a single world with LESS than 250), you're straight back to 9 tokkul per chaos you sell. So it would be virtually pointless to sell 9 chaos to the store for maybe 9-18 more tokkul per world? Trading sticks? Huh.
September 24, 200619 yr - pest control - when newbs bother me - when shops run out of vials in ardy - when all the mage trees are cut down (when i dont feel like w8ing) - i kinda dislike world hopping cuz of typing my pass and my username
September 24, 200619 yr I only really world hop on certain situations. World 99 is sort of my default world, I go there before hopping to any other location. Some situations I hop in are... Mining: To a highly populated world or to switch worlds of somebody is already there when I arrive. The obvious benifits are that on a populated world the rocks respawn faster which make it faster to get a full load. Mostly just used in mining iron, mythril and coal. Runecrafting: If there is a pker within my level range, I hop to one of the Canadian worlds, usually 130. The benifits here are fairly obvious. Buying Items: Self explanitory. Wilderness Clues: I switch whenever I see another white dot, I don't even bother to check the level. I figure if they have see me they'll check me as I do them, and they won't hesitate to attack. Woodcutting: Switch worlds if someone else is cutting them. I prefer to maximize the amout of logs I get. Afterall, if you have 3 people chopping the same tree you won't get many logs. After you sell one the price goes down by a significant amount making it worth switching worlds. 136 Combat, 2290+ Skill Total
September 24, 200619 yr The only reason I ever hop worlds is because of Abyss RC PK'ers. A world hopping guide would be nice, it wouldn't contain much content though. :?
