I swear the people at the DMV try for you to look bad... "K smile like you are happy to be here" *five minutes later a random* "ok you are done" what the hell... If I didn't have so much fun waiting for 1 and half hours I might have been upset...

Share your fun experience at the DMV (departement of motor vehichles.)

well, I got a perfect score on the signs portion for my permit and passed the laws by one  , luckily I changed my answer on the last one at the last second or else I would have failed :wall: :wall:

I also thought you weren't suppose to smile in your picture so mine looks like a mugshot :D

I had to get my picture took 2 times on my drivers license (learners just one time)..I blinked the first time on my license and they had to take it again because for some stupid reason they gotta see your eye color :? Second time I looked like a dork because I have my eyes wide open lol

When I got my learners permit for the first time I didn't smile.. I failed the first time and came back a day later and passed.. I spent so much time waiting around to take the test that I was pretty pissed by the time I got my pic taken.. My learners permit expired on Sept. 7 and I'm in drivers ed until late November (after which I can get my license  ) so I had to get it renewed. It took maybe 10 minutes so when the lady taking the picture told me to smile I kind of gave a half smile.. I hate pictures of myself, so I'll never like the pics on my license..

On your license it says your eye color. So when police look at your ID to identify you they can look at your eye color in the picture, on the license(actual text), and then look at you!

But on-topic: I only have my learners permit. About a month before I started divers ed the amount of hours you needed to have driving with a parent before getting your actual license was 25 hours. But a month before I started Drivers Ed. they changed the amount of hours you need to get your license from 25 to 50 hours. I am so mad :wall: . But w/e. Shouldnt take to long.

Training my pure!

I've never had too much of a problem at the DMV. Most of the time, I go out of town to the smaller city DMV. Never have had to wait in line there (as compared to 1.5 hours average for the in town one.)

I'm not old enough for a driving lisence yet (have my boating, but that didn't require a picture), but I have had similar experiences getting passport photos. In those photos, you CANNOT smile. Whenever I am supposed to be serious, I start laughing and smiling uncontrollably. The picture looks like I'm constipated because I'm trying not to laugh. I'm surprised that photo actually passed passport specifications.

People who work at the DMV are lucifers children. And who ever writes the test IS lucifer. I didnt fail my permit test but I missed a few question that seem really pointless. They asked me what percentage of vehicle related deaths have to do with narcotics, and the average death age of vechicle fatalities. I mean really, knowing that doesnt make me a better driver and im damn sure it doesnt make me not want to use narotics (not saying that I will). But really, the test dont have anything to do with driving. And my lincense pic looks like a mugshot lol, prolly cuz I just got off of work and was still in my BDU's

Its better to be judged by twelve, than to be carried by six.

Getting my Learner's Permit rocked.

It asked for your height, I don't know my height. So my mom says that she's 5'6" and since I'm taller than her that I should just put down 5'7". So later on at home she measured me and found out that I'm like 5'6" and a half an inch. There's a "lie" on my permit. :-$

Also, I didn't read the manual thing at all. The thing you're supposed to read and study before you take the written test. And I still passed the test with like a 90% by randomly guessing on most things and using common sense on others. \' "Should you drink and drive?" Damn right, you should!

Then there was an eye test, with a chart. The way I read the eyechart was like "Squigly mark, blotch, black spot, ink, bob dole . . . " so the lady was like "Do you wear glasses?" And So i'm like "Yeah, I have a pair at home." My mom gets mad at me because we have to go aaaaall the way home and get my glasses. I never wear them so I didn't know I'd have to.

This was about a year ago, but I still have those fond memories.

Plus my pic looks pretty kewl. My eyes were squinting so I kinda sorta looked like that guy on the O.C. I don't watch the show so I don't know what his name is.

My uncle says I'm one of the scariest people on the road. This man is afraid of me driving, yet he's stared down a bear in the woods. Rawr, I am teh bacabear!

We don't rebel to sell it just suits us well, we're the bright young things.

Heh, I did the same thing except I somehow still passed(maybe I got 3/4 on guesses?)

well for my permit I was so focused on keeping my eyes open...I forgot to smile...oops! Although most people said my pic turned out pretty well.

I past my test for the permit 1st try. We have a friend who like is a "big deal" type person with the dmv (bmv here) and said that our local bmv was being tougher on their tests so me and my mom went to a rinky dink small town one that had'nt changed over yet...just to be safe ya know? lol

Then When I went for my lisence I really wasn't too confident in my driving ability and figured I'd fail. we even planned it so I had just enough time to try again before I had to re get my permit. So I went in EXTREMELY casual. Board shorts a t-shirt no makeup and hair tied up. Well so we went in and found out our cars brake lights weren't working, so we had to call my grandma and borrow her van. so besides the fact that I wasn;t very confident in my driving ability I also had to use a car I wasn't familiar with. so yeh. Oh and some of my friends who took the test previously didn't have to do parralel parking and told me it wasn't on the test...so guess what! its was! also they told me the route...guess what! I had to go a different way! lol. Anyways, to my suprise I passed! And so in my drivers lisence picture I'm like make-up less. lol.

So my brother teases me about me being a horrible driver. But I just tell him atleast I only had to take my drivers test once (he failed his first time...)

So I've been a lisenced driver for like 4 months now...Woot! :P

So thats my experience. :D

The only other experience I had at the bmv was to get the plates for my new(old) car...YAY! That was a good experience. no waiting line b/c we hit them at just the right time. :P

My picture was fine, but for some reason I had a really hard time signing my name on that little pad. My signature consists of the first letter being regular printing, and for some reason, the pad flipped out and the S went all over the place. But other than that, and the 2 hour wait, it was awesome.

My picture actually came out really well. :) If only my student ID card looked that great. And I'm fortunate enough to live within biking distance of the DMV, so I really haven't had any terrible experiences. Long wait? I just go and bike around for a bit. The longest I've had to wait is like 20 minutes anyway.
