game_proffy
Guthans is extremely nice for training (as I don't much like PKing [not with barrows anyway] and CW). Karils... It has somewhat diddicult-to-judge set in terms if DEFENSE. It's top and skirt have same attack bonuses as black dragonhide chaps and body. However, the defenses are slightly less than those of black dragonhide: 13 less in stab, 10 less in slash, 15 less in crush. HOWEVER! In ranged defense, Karil's set rules the day! Simply top+bottom have 24 magic defense more than black dragonhide body+chaps! Also, ranged defense is 4 higher. Now for the Coif. It's ranged attack bonus isn't fabulous, it's much lower than both Robn Hood Hat and Archer helmet. HOWEVER, it's defenses are superior to those of the 2 other hats by some nice numbers. CONCLUSION: Karil's set is one of the best sets if you want to deal with magical creatures.
chenw
the def of torags = def of guthan/dharok pieces mixed together. i don't see the point of torags if you have guthan and dharok guthans is best Point = you spent millions more to get something with the same defense... I don't factor the hammers into torags set, they stink. I use a whip, much better. Millions more? i think you are exaggerating. Dharok's Body and legs costs almost the same as torag's set, and torag's helm is like 250k anyway, so if you get that, you wont have a problem of trying to sell the torag's set if you get more money to be able to afford Dharoks or something. no one ever uses the full set of ahrims when playing in cw, so technically, counting it as a good barrows set in cw for ancienting would be incorrect. guthans ftw No1 can use a full barrow set in CW, the point is that the set pieces have the best mage attack AND melee defence for mages, making it perfect for CW duuuh, it's gotta be guthans. Lol. Guthans is good for killing NPCs, Veracs is good against other player and the KQ, Torags is good for sheer armor, and Dharoks is good for str training. The rest suck, IMHO. Hey, no offence but Guthan sucks the dirt..... It is horrible for training.. Only controlled attacks? wth is that about? Mine is Dharok, great looks, great def and great max hit..... No1 uses Guthan to train, they use it instead of FOOD when training, so they can stay there longer. Most ppl just use whip and rune def till they are low on health, change to spear, heal with the whole set, when full health, switch back to Whip. easy. Dharok's is GOD slow and GOD risky, i prefer dragon scimmy when training strength. I cant hit jack with Dharok's set. 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. FrankyBrown
Veracs for pvp and kq, Ahrims for magic, Karils for ranging mages (awesome magic defence) Guthans for slayer and camping and Torags for those who want the best defence without having to buy Guthans helm+Dharocks legs and body. And err I hate dharocks  Way too slow and worn by every level 80 that thinks he 'pwns'. But you don't need Karils coif or Ahrims staff since you're better off with something else. Guest Nezikchened
Guthan and Dharok... Guthan is good, because not needed to bank every minute for food. Dharok hits good. I don't like others because they seem like a waste of money and verac doesn't work so well with me...

Veracs usually beats dharocks in duels, dharocks is waaay too slow and you have to be on low hp for anything good and by then if you miss you lose. Joltia
I like wearing Dharoks Plate and Legs with Guthans Helm, it has the same defence bonuses as Full Torag (maximum helm, plate and legs melee defence bonus in the game) but looks about a thousand times better. Try it! My Guide To The Abyss
jessy87
good question, but asked to broadly, their for the topic is useless and is based only on opinions. you did not state for what class...and if you did state what class and said mage/range you already answered your own question if you said melee, you will have hundreds of people speculate why 1 armor is better then another, when really... they arent. if you wear full guthan and use a whip and shield/defender... and you die, and think, oh god if i had the +10 defensive boost from the torag legs i would have lived, you sir need to stop playing this game because you would have died any way. dharok and guthan 10 less defensive stats then torag...and they have way better special abilities. so to even include torag in the mix is dumb. you get realistic, its your opinion that matters no1 elses not even mine even if its is some what true. i dont understand why this thread is made once a month. Celluzion
My honest opinion? BEST out of everything? Definitely Guthans, nothing beats healing yourself, heck stay forever at Dagannoths, Kalphites, or whatever you train on. None of the armour sets allow you to do that, therefore it optimises your training therefore ensuring faster and efficient exp. The only time you need to bank is when 15 hours is up, so theoratically, you could train for 15 hours straight without banking IF you heal at appropriate times, AND train on logical monsters in relation to your Combat Level. You can use Guthan in conjunction with every other set, this shows it's importance, and in my opinion, the best armour out there. It would be redundant to use Verac and Dharok, wouldn't it. Or Torag and Dharok while training on monsters. This emphasises the importance of the special effect of Guthans. However, to do specific tasks? Slayer - Guthan\Dharok Training - Guthan \ Torag (If you cannot Afford Guthan, then Torags to optimise training with the maximum defence stats you can get) Unlimited Training - Guthan\Dharok(Monkeys at Ape Atoll) Fun - Dharok Fight pits - Veracs Castle Wars - Torags(Melee), Ahrim(Mage), Karil(Mage) Barrows - Almost every barrows set. There is no "Best" when it comes to doing specific tasks, since they all require different approaches. But the Ultimate Best? Guthan, I would say. Known formerly as Ameoba3000. Now known as Vigoss. Rebdragon
Ahrims is better than all of them. Period. Don't argue, you're wrong. [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series. Mr_Hyde1218
jessy87 is totally right, the discussion matter for this thread is so vague that its lead to people only stating what they think is best, not what they know is best or most practical. i also think that its totally improper to count only the armor of a barrows set as a full set. that completely defeats the purpose of the question matter (even when it is as vague as it is). if the question were something like: what do you think is the most practical full barrows set? then this thread could have been more insightful. ahrims at cw ̢̢̮ââ¬Ã°Ãâàa full set torags with a whip ̢̢̮ââ¬Ã°Ãâàa full set now if this is what the original poster intended, then everyone who has mentioned those two sets has made a mistake in posting. proud quest cape ownerhere's my first post on the TIF (scroll to the bottom)feel free to pm me, but do make sure that i know you're a Tip.It user (in other words, give me a HYT)
darkmage099
I'll do my analysis on all of them. Verac- my favourite because you can pretty much use it for anything without having huge disadvantages. It's good for stakig, kqing, Dking (sort of), you can train with it, you can pretty much do anything with it. Guthan- It's good, but only for camping and stuff like that. You really can't use it against other players. It's fairly expensive and only has a huge advantage in a certain area. Dharok- Fairly good if you like big hits. IT's good for messing around with and training strength. Overall, it's about average. The only thing is you might end up using a lot of prayer pots or stuff. Torag- Very good defense for a cheap price. Less than the rest (melee) and provides good def. Karil- useless Ahrim - best mage armor in the game. Yuo can use it for arnything related to maging. However, the staff is not that useful. Verac. Trix.--quit WoW as of 12/07Thank you 4be2jue for the wonderful sig and avatar!
pure_fett
i personally have owned every full set, the best thing i did was have verac and guthan at the same time, that was fun as heck at black demons, no food used super setted i blasted through those demons like they were imps. personally the only place i hardcore train is dustdevils so i cant use a full set of anything down there, the best option for me is torag plate+legs AND bones to peaches, this spell literally makes guthans worthless [obously this is only certon times] (obviously demons dont drop bones so guthans is still best option here) offtopic:WHY DONT BONES TO PEACHES WORK ON BIG/dragon/daggonath bones? in the end i use torags half set the most cause it is cheap, def is good the best full set imo is veracs, because i do use bones to peaches alot :) and verac pwns barrows, kq, and high lvl pvm just my $0.02  i don't play psykick anymore... i play 2ed: "pure fett" 26081 to get 99 herblore
enjoi8882
i myself dont care for any of the special effects guthan-i dont need this effect... i got bones to peaches which is jus as efficent as the guthan effect not to mention i got 1k lob in bank, so y would i wanna waste another 12m on something that heals me. verac-it is good for pkqing but kqing is a waste of time in my eyes so i dotn need it for that, verac is ok for dueling too but it cant do nothing a whip with torag and obby shield cant do. dharok- yea dharok can b uber melee xp but ive never been a person to take risks. and training or pking with 10hp can b a bit dangerous... i own 6 barrow items ahrim top-awesome mage att ahrim bottom-awsome mage att(hood has same mage att as seer helm so no thx) torag helm-awesome melee and ranged def guthan body-awesome melee and ranged def(torag and guthan pl8s are same price and same stats lol) torag leg-awesome melee and ranged def
