Welcome to the Black Parade - MCR

Featured Replies

The new CD/song 'Welcome to the Black Parade' by My Chemical Romance is very nice. :) I know they're all supposedly emo, but it's a nice band with nice songs. Anyone else likes MRC/ the song?

I've got the whole album.. I've listened to it a bit and it's pretty good. I think I still like Three Cheer for Revenge better though.. But I've heard some pretty powerful lyrics in this album. Now, I'm going to listen to it so much I'll hate it :P

People only say MCR is emo because all the emo kids like them...I tend to classify them as post-hardcore/alternative.

Either way the album pwns n00bs.

Just wondering.. (To anyone who has heard more than just one or two songs) What is your favorite song on the new album? I personally like 'Mama'. I'm pretty depressed right now, and it kind of sums up my feelings..

I can understand alternative, but post hardcore? An example of post hardcore is Refused, which are a pretty longshot from MCR. Contributing to the topic, their last album had a more fresher sound than this album.

You can define the band and thier albums all you like, but I actually like this song. I had a free credit for iTunes and used it to download the single. I wouldnt buy the album though.

Just a quick question really..

Anyone who has seen MCR live..Why did you pay so much just to see some guy cry down a mic?

I would never classify them as emo, and I find them to be an awesome band, many of their songs are catchy and interesting. I love Welcome to the Black Parade, and I'm buying the album when I make it to a music store tomorrow.

As for Falco, I think you're probably barking up the wrong tree. Comments like that are not going to be taken easily here, mainly because you did not offer any constructive debate to the topic. Many people here like the music, and it is not your place to patronize them because you do not. Get a life, and stop attempting to make yourself look good on a forum where you understand nothing.

Back on topic! :P Deloria, I would love a full opinion on the album, since I would trust your thoughts on it. After I've gotten it and had time to listen, I'll certainly throw in my two cents.

-The End: Actually an interesting song.. In the beginning it talks about joining the 'goth/emo' group and by the end he's saying 'get me the hell out of here'. I really like listening to this because it seems to me that a lot of kids go emo/goth and get out of it pretty quick.

-Welcome To The Black Parade: Great song. It has almost become known as the 'anthem' of the album. Very powerful lyrics. A father asking his son to do the best he can for the 'the broken, the beaten, and the damned' and carry on once his father dies. Probably my second favorite song on the album.

Yeah maybe post-hardcore was a bit out there.....I take it back. Alternative ftw.

Some reason I don't like this song.

Which song? We're talking about an entire album, not a single song. Though I'm going to suppose you're referring to 'Welcome To The Black Parade'. Care to explain why you don't like it? I see no problems with you not liking it, but you must have a reason..

Compared to what MCR usualy puts out, this is an interesting suprise.

But damn, his voice is really anoying. Could hardly get through the song. Also, I didn't like him breaking up everything he said in the begining.

Yeah, I was really surprised by the album. It's not really what I was expecting from them.

And the breaking up everything in "Welcome To The Black Parade" was annoying but I like the lyrics all the same. I like the second half better (once everything starts flowing better).

I don't like them, just too damn wierd for me, and I don't like their kind of music.

Supermonk, proving you wrong since 1992.

Supermonk rocks, I want to have his children.

Music is like candy. You always get rid of the rapper.

Being emo is like eating junk food. You don't get any advantages and you still hurt yourself.

Will you be my best friend (and help me nuke some emo hangouts)?

True mainstream emo trash. I love how these bands don't admit that they are emo either, they just call themselves some hybrid of rock/punk/indie. Kinda shows that even the bands try to avoid that labeling.

Metal fans, check out my band!

I smack the crap out of you if you come near me and my friends with a nuke :P You could pretty much consider me an emo without the clothes/make-up. (I guess I do have the girl pants and tight t-shirts..)

Notice though, I said an interesting suprise compared to what they usualy have. I can't even get through 10 seconds of a normal MCR song. this one I got about 50 seconds in before turning it off in disgust.

If you are then no

I've been coming up with these lately. Here's my newest one (because all of our school dances got moved to 3-5 after school! :wall: )

"Having a school dance at 3 is like making out with your cousin. It's just not right."

Depends on your attitude. Do you come from a generally good background, yet still hate life and want to kill yourself? In that case, I pity you.

If you just like the music, then whatever. Just don't make me listen to it.

I wouldn't come near you with a nuke Ry-Ry. I love you   Jk, well I still love you, at least while I'm very hyper!
