And if not part of the staff, at least a contributor to the forums for a good while before being considered for the job. After all, despite the anoniniminiminity, this is a fairly high-profile job. Not all of them do, and none of the mods and Crew know who it is. There may be a few of the Crew/Mods that have guessed the Editor's identity, but if they know who it is, I'm not aware of it.
