Bobbington
They also appear to be using the miscalania "manage thy kingdom" thingy. Maybe we should be looking for tip.it people who regualy post in there? And then we get a comment last week that intrests me! "trouble at t'mill"! Now, im no expert but there are not many people from other contries who learn local diolects for the english areas. I would hazard a guess that the editor comes from northwest england. If they where midlands, or yorksihre it would mention mines. And southeners...... well I dont know what they did down there during the industrial revolution...... Mut working at t'mill is very lanshire. But to widen my guess...... I will just stick with english. I am also looking out for people talking about their pet cat :)
mattpkranger
Maybe it's just possible that the editor is just an eminent forum member, that every few months is replaced by another eminent forum member picked by the crewbies. Aren't they busy enough without having to write a thought-provoking article every week? Guest
(Note to Tip.It Admins and Mods: I am just having a good joke at Hugh_Mannity's expense. I am sorry if this offends any of you! :( ...) Oh come on!...Tip.it and their mods aren't that bad that you need to write a comment like that at the end of your post. I don't even know how that could be classed as offensive. :? Anyway the editor is a number of people in the tip.it hierarchy, for sure. Or their just throwing out a number of fake clues in their articles to screw with a few here.

If you look though the posts, you'll see that I've already confirmed that there is only ONE editor. We do not have multiple people sharing the job. Remember, the SEARCH button is your friend. Use it! Jock66600
This is getting pointless, false leads now? Come on, we tried and we deserve some ice lemonade and a cookie. Just a wee hint and we might crack it but if all we are getting is double over time in the ditches then count me out. I tried for a while to figure this out but it seems the Administrators think of this as a game of cat and mouse. They lost themselves in their fantasies and forgot we're humans who have feelings as well. I can clearly say the Administrators took the breath out of us and made a hole where our hearts should be. Toying with the human mind is toying with our thoughts as well. And thoughts are powerful things. A simple yes or no could help besides just riddling us with complex words and racking our bodies with pain. Filling our hearts with doubt. Thank you for reading. Edit* Kiara_kat has given us a clue: Our editor will be back next week. In the meantime, I'm happy to share with you a postcard I received from him this morning(yea....right.......... :boohoo: ) News from 18 August 2006, I got good memory...eh? I donno whether there is a 'sunny' or not, but at least we know it is a 'he' Well, I guess the editor is biabf, look what he said: Gj man, overtook me somewhere in the 4 weeks I have been away this summer. You got levels and I got a tan, w00t....26th August 2006 Can you say denied? Page 2.
Striker6
^^100% agreed. Recently I have not been myself, infact i've been a nervous wreck up all night worrying about who the mysterious editor is. Guest sword_kill11
New clue from this week's Times Yep, I'm sufficiently geeky to calculate the standard deviation of my skills (right now it's about 5.6) and actually care about it. :)
Hugh_Mannity
How does that help? Are you going to look up all the suspects on the high scores list and calculate the standard deviation of their skill levels? That would take more time than this is worth! Hugh_Mannity
I ignored the post where you said: To Hugh_Mannity Well, I will take a big guess when you say who the 2 founders of Tip.It are. It must be one of them. Look... Tip.It was started when the Editor started playing. because I'd said nothing about the founders of Tip.It. Also Kiara_Kat answered you by saying where you could find out who the founders were. As for your latest theory -- I just wondered whether it was going to be worth looking up the high scores for all the people who've been suggested as being the editor. Assuming you've got their RS names to begin with... Seems like an awful lot of work for possibly not much result.

Are you going to look up all the suspects on the high scores list and calculate the standard deviation of their skill levels? That would take more time than this is worth!I'm not...but from some of the posts I've seen here, I suppose someone may, lol. Just simply stating another clue: That whoever the editor is, he tries to keep his skills fairly close to one another. This alone could probably rule out some of the suspects (if their RSNs are known) if their skill levels are too far apart. Nothing big - just another clue ;) EDIT: Actually, I'll do some calculations with some of the suspected RSNs, let you know if I find anything. EDIT #2: I found the standard deviation of the twp on the Tip.it Crew list who fit the definite clues of: 72+ slayer, 70+ agility, and having no 99 skill: Abomb67 - 69 slayer, but can eat a wild pie to be 74 slayer inferno_char Ard_Choille - Not Tip.it Crew, however is an Admin Ard_Cholle was the only one with a standard deviation of 5.6. According to the clue of being on the Tip.it Crew: this means the Editor has to be someone with a different rs name than their forum name. The only people who fit this are: Allbogs - actual name of All Bogs - one look of highscores rules them out bambino - actual name of Pajot - one look of highscores rules them out Celebi - actual name of Celebi123 - one look of highscores rules them out Kiara_Kat pokemama Rcty - actual name of Rctycoon Fan - one look of highscores rules them out Conclusion:It's without a doubt either Abomb67, Ard_Choille, inferno_char, Pokemama, or Kiara Kat My Conclusion: It's Abomb67 Why? The Editor is just a title given to a select few group of Tip.it Staff who have written for the Times. There is only one Editor at a time, but every so often that Editor changes. So far, there are at least three known Editors *Abomb67 - For the many reasons stated above. Served as Tip.it Editor when the Times first started. *Ard_Choille - The current Editor. Fits every single level requirement except a triple digit combat. And, as of February 16, both Ard_Choille and the Editor had a 5.6 standard deviation.Yep, I'm sufficiently geeky to calculate the standard deviation of my skills (right now it's about 5.6) and actually care about it.*Someone who has 100+ combat - Served in between the time of Ard_Choille and Abomb67. Neither Abomb67 nor Ard_Choille have 100 combat, so there must be another Editor who has 100+ combat. Well, there you have it... :)
unorclan
NEWEST OF NEWS!!! More clues - it's some sentences copied out of the his/her latest article It's All About The Levels The Editor "Congratulations, you have just advanced a dishwashing level. Your Dishwashing level is now 15. You can now wash woks and spatulas." Ah if only̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ "I'm sorry mom, I can't do the dishes yet ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ I don't have a high enough level to wash your best dishes." This should narrow it down I lack the single-minded dedication to make the front page of the high scores table, and am doomed to forever be a mid-level player. Guest sword_kill11
Good point :) Probably the reason why the standard deviation didn't match any of the Crew members anyway (that took a long time to calc :( ) Although, my conclusion of Abomb67 was in no way based on the standard deviation of his skills, so lets not try to divert attention from the other overwhelming facts on Abomb67, as it is clearly him ;) Edit: Just realized, you have a standard deviation of 5.6...hm, main post re-worked. I can see that excuse working real well in my house! - Mom? This means their a female and have children. This should narrow it downI don't really see how the phrasing implies the Editor is a mom. I see it implying the Editor as a teenager, wishing he could use the excuse of not having to do the dishes because of his "dish washing level" being too low. Abomb is 18 years old, meaning he is probably in Senior year of high school still living at home. In his profile Abomb says he is planning to go to Georgia Tech after he graduates. Just because he says "my house" doesn't mean he actually lives at home. When talking about the home I live in, I say "my house," and I certainly do not own it myself. Please read my large post above yours, I stick to the fact that it is Abomb67 :)

Guest sword_kill11
Who knows...I've been re-thinking this whole thing, and am not as sure as I was on Abomb67 earlier. Ard_Choille, although not in the Tip.it "Crew," has a standard deviation of 5.6, as seen in her goals and achievements thread: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=437230 So, thats proof that she wrote this week's article... My conclusion for now is that there are multiple people all going under the name of Editor. There have to be, as different people fill in the gaps so well, but no one meets the all around combined description.

I just sit back and enjoy reading the articles... You are soooo correct. I like to sit back and watch all the "Mysterious Editor" replies pop up too though. I'm with you on this one Ard! It's the most fun thread in the forums. As for the editor being a mom, unorclan, I don't know how things work in your family, but in mine, and most of my friends' families, it's the mom who runs the kitchen and who assigns chores like dishes, so while the editor could be the mom, s/he could also be one of the kids, or even the dad! The only clue in that is the US spelling of "mom" instead of the UK "mum".
