D. V. Devnull
the editor is a guy! that sure narrows it down! Off-Topic: I hate having to correct grammar... at least this helps with confusion... On-Topic: It doesn't really narrow it down much. The population of males reported on the Tip.It Poll about whether a person using Tip.It was male or female showed an overload of males in comparison to females... :ohnoes: Off-Topic: This might mean that the chance of me kissing a girl ever IRL is near 0%... I guess I'm just stuck with kissing the girls who get changed into frogs in-game by misguided wizards... ...*sigh* -.- ~Mr. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... oddfaery2
OK, time for another bone. So far, you know that Eeeeediot was the original Editor when the Tip.It Times started last year. And you also know that he's no longer the Editor. Let's see, that's about it, isn't it? OK, well here goes. There are NOT multiple editors. There is only ONE. There has been more than one Editor since the Times published its first piece, but never more than one at a time. That's all I'm telling you. Please remember that the Tip.It Times called An Important Meeting Takes Place was a work of fiction, done all in good fun -- the idea for that piece was born from things said and discussed in this very topic. Yes, there are hints scattered throughout the article, but they're very vague and not that easy to spot. And the main storyline about there being multiple editors? Pure fantasy. So I was right. Now, a few pages back Eeeeeediot's last article was announced. I'm too lazy to go back and find which one it was, so can someone quickly check how many articles Eeeeeediot wrote as editor? That should give us a baseline for the next editor, and however many (if any) followed him/her. I doubt there is any correlation between the amount of time Eeeeediot served as Editor and the time that each consecutive editor has spent serving their time. Any similarities (if there are any, I haven't checked) would be completely unplanned, unintentional, and coincidental. Nickelliston
I was reading about this thread and then I saw the huge number of pages which I couldn't be bothered to read through so if this is repeating anything, sorry. What about siralix? His avatar is of a load of burnt monkfish and in the Tip-It Times article, it mentions a banknote of 1000 burnt monkfish... :-k My friend you would not tell with such high zest / to children ardent for some desperate glory / the old lie: Dulce et decorum est / pro patria mori. These 'noobs' are not people as such, they are soulless creations of corporate greed. Or is it?.... maybe they got a rebbelion inside their little community, and someone revealed something that is very important.... I have a clue who the editor is....but i will keep it to myself....got to do some investigation.... :-k The clock is ticking, and your time is running out, mortals. GregEchidna
It seems like most people have given up trying to figure out who the mysterious editor is. I was interested in seeing if anybody was going to get it right. ;) -GregEchidna Third player in RuneScape to 99 attack, strength, defense and hitpoints. Satenza
Well since they won't confirm the editor even if we get it right there's really no point. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

Lord_Gromit
I just noticed that Trojann fits almost all the clues. The mods say we haven't gotten close, and he hasn't been guessed yet. It's a possibility.

mattpkranger
BUMP!!! I was just randomly browsing the archives (Lobby merchanting is boring) when I realised that at well as the simple, hard evidence (stats, etc) which may be helpful for identification we can use the editors views to date them to periods (and possibly even their posts at a stretch). For instance the 28th May '06 post, trust in jagex's ability to scourge macroers is shown. But if you go forward a bit to some of the more recent articles and their why Jagex why? attitude and there seems to be a shift in opinion. Another useful indicator could be how our current editor is quite keen on the idea of Fansites and Jagex together in some form of mutually benificial union. When we have rough dates like this we could possibly (at the most outer reaches of our imaginations) look for which crewbies made a reduced number of post into the date guidelines we have now created. (a simple view posts check should be able to do this, granted we would only be able to check commonly responded to topics and stickies, but I never see them post out of them much anyway. Perhaps we could produce some form of posts made line graph for the most prominent crewbies and compare them to our guidelines. Just my thoughts. *Searches for shrug emoticon* EDIT: Oh, and we know our current editor is male, so that will narrow our search down slightly, at least for our current one.
