Hard drugs that can directly lead to death and irreversible addiction are bad, but anything less than that (marijuana, 'weed', etc.) is just like alcohol to me.

I haven't experimented with them, but why should marijuana, hash or weed be illegal? Alcohol causes by far much more deaths, and I don't even remember reading about any statistics about marijuana deaths.

My best bet is that since you can't tax them, make it illegal and take what you can in bails and court orders.

This is my opinion: You should not punish people for making choices that only affect their lives. If people kill people or rob people while high on cocaine, then punish them for the crimes they comitted. Its a personal decision. *Waits to get flamed*!

Marijuana cant be detected when you blow. So you could be driving while high, get in a accident, and just be charged with getting in a accident. And not charged with driving high

None should be illegal. Hard or soft.
im afraid he is right, either make everything illegal including alcohol and weed or make it all legal. Because if its all legal they can keep an eye on it, and if it was all illegal there wouldn't be any double standerds.

Both should stay illegal i think, Smoking in general is a very bad habit, along with all the other ways of getting high. <.<

Alchohol is fine, as long as you don't stupidly drink to excess every weekend just for the sake of getting smashed.

Other drugs to me are...pointless. Smoking really does seem stupid to me, I can see the potential reasons for using other drugs, but their addictiveness and the damage they cause you aren't worth it.

Drugs have a tendency to mess you up, badly. Having a drug addiction is not somewhere you want to go. God knows how many lives they've ruined. That said, I wouldn't have a go at anyone except my best friend for using drugs. It's their decisions and their lives, and as long as they don't drag me down with them i'm fine. I just wouldn't want my best friend to because I wouldn't want to see him get sucked in and destroyed.

+1, there wouldn't be people fighting over them too much, people wouldn't have to smuggle, plus, if they wanna do em, let em, if it goes wrong its they're fault.

you're over-simplifying the issue. no one cares if a drunk or druggie dies. But how about the people who die because of them? deaths caused by drinking and driving kill as many innocent people as death to those drunk drivers, as well

In Holland is using soft drugs legal, that meens you can go to the nearest coffeeshop, and buy some weed there.

But its really wierd that the police do allow coffeeshops to sell drugs, but if they see someone that is using drugs,(on the streets etc) they fine him.

And, they allow every family to have 4 (?weedplants, where you make cannabis with), but if you have 5 thats illegal :-s

The decision is yours if you use drugs or not, but it is pointless to me. (like assassin said)

If they take a urin/blood sample they can detect it.

according to medical experts (or at least the people who give smoking presentations) smoking is more addictive than harojin(sp?)

drugs are just bad, all drugs are dangerous and have different side effects...

there are more alchohal related accidents then drug abuse related accidents because most drugs are illegal (all if you exclude cigerettes and alchohal)

Yayyyyyy...

I'm with the ban all or ban none crowd.

However, because of how I am and how it would barely affect me, I'd go for ban all for simplicity's sake.

In the real world though, I'd go with Insane on banning based on addictiveness.

Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

I seriously doubt that. Or at least stated in that way. There may be some other factors involved in that statement like the fact that there are way more ciggarette smokers, but herion is one of the single most addictive drugs out there.

What do you people think the worst drug is? In my opinion, it is Crystal Meth.

Actually, without overdosing, 'crystalized' metamphetamine is much less addicting than many hard-drugs and it's not mentally or physically addictive. It is quite expensive but the biggest risk comes from using a shared needle and getting HIV, and not all users of metamphetamine inject the drug.

I think weed should be legalised. It is a natural plant, contains no chemicals, and isn't addicting (except perhaps, for the weak minded.)

The smoke inhaled is also nowhere near the amount for cigarettes (1 large cone with none wasted doesnt even fill a 1.25L bottle), plus most weed smokers, don't have 20 cones a day like cigarette smokers.

So there isn't much of a risk of cancer.

It is also widely believed that weed can have medical benefits.

Accidents arent more likely to happen whilst stoned, its not like being drunk you still have complete control and senses are fine. A friend of mine constantly runs perfect 100m's while stoned, and almost a second faster than he usually would.

But as far as smoking way too much, I think weed is bad. It can cause brain damage. And once someone gets immune to weed, they COULD start trying harder drugs, which IS bad for you. - Again, this is really just the weak minded.

I believe the only reason its illegal is because the government can't tax it. People would just grow their own. This is the reason why cigarettes are legal, the government makes millions and millions of dollars in taxed from cigarette companies. Even though the government knows its bad for everyone.

I'm sure I read in one my textbooks that 1 spliff is the same as smoking 20 cigarettes in terms of tar. But yeah I'm not entirely sure.
