Fortress2000
10 minutes ago, I heard a bang. 5 minutes ago, I got a phone call from my friend. Now, I'm sure that many of you have all heard about people playing with fireworks, but this is the closest I've actually came to having an accident with fireworks. Some people went round to my friends house, and stuck a firework through the letterbox. Well, I guess you can all probably guess that it exploded. I'm not sure of the complete extent of the damage, though I'm sure that it's pretty bad. Now, what I'm wanting to know is your opinion on fireworks, and the misuse of them. For me, they are good, and fun to watch IF used in the correct manner. Mistreated, though, and they are just a weapon for vandals. Writing in colour was fun while it lasted...The Tip.It. Furry! :D

Ragen
The chavs go round putting fireworks in letter boxes round here. Not only is it moronic and disrespectful, but it could set the house on fire. People who do that kind of thing are stupid in the extreme. Anyway I know someone who lost their finger because they were messing with fireworks. Thanks Venomai for this super sig and Kwimbob for the awesome avatar! deloriagod
I personally love fireworks and play with them whenever I get the chance. I've had my fun with blowing things up but I've never gone as far as to damage other people's property just for the sake of having fun. GoingUnder
people who damage other people's things with fireworks are just plain ghey and stoopid. I like blowing things up too delorigod [= it super fun i dont know why. the thrill of nearly hurting yourself .. until you do. indian fireworks are crazy. they are actually not fireworks they call them BOMBS over there. its just gunpowder packed into a little ball thing which is VERY powerfull. i was a fell a few meters from it and i felt the impact on my face. Those flower fireworks .. that sprout out in a fountain, yeah well india-style ones explode after they do that. illegal and crazy (illegal in the uk that is) i am a paint noob
Giordano
Fireworks=Rockets Some people dont get the similarity and hurt themselfs, or worse, hurt someone else. Luckly nothing too bad has happened here, cept one time this guy destroyed a big chunk of his car  No more trunk :P "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is." mixand
i don't know if anyones tried this but i like buying heaps of sparklers and crushing them up sticking them into a small bottle make a hole in the lid and stick a sparkler in it and lighting it, it makes a huuuge fountain of fire and sparks going everywhere you can also get the sparklers in 2 bottle caps and duct tape it around or just get a bunch, stick them together tightly and make one sparkler higher at the middle and light that bit. I'm from Australia so i cant just buy fireworks anywhere:P but this is always fun "If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel AdamsMy new site. [bETA]
cyco
I think you should have to take an IQ test before you can buy fireworks. Seriously if your not a complete idiot you can play with fireworks without blowing your fingers off. I have stacks of fireworks at my house right now lol. I don't think its a big deal blowing up your own stuff or shooting them off into the air. But when you start destroying other peoples property then its just dumb. Want to know something even worse? I live in Iowa so basically everything is illegal. Across the street from me live 2 cops. Well, every 4th of July their son is outside, almost every night, shooting off illegal fireworks. Is it just me or is something wrong there? issy2
It all comes down to whether they are used properly. My dog Tess gets seriously scared, and she LOVES ME! Yeah, it's true, now, when she's scared she comes to ME instead of mum or dad! (May be because my room's the quietest and warmest... but hey she follows me around all the time! It must be the great influence Tipit is having on me... I like fireworks, I think they're ok. If people get hurt because they're using them themselves, they have only themselves to blame. Though aren't there rules about age for buying fireworks? My english teacher is really funny, he's always telling us funny stories. On Wednesday he shared with us another snippet of his childhood... Well basically, he went around with a gang (this was 50-60 years ago, he quite old lol) and he now says it's a miracle no-one ever got killed. And in His Day, little kids could buy these things called 'Bangers' which were basically small fireworks, a mix between sparklers and smaller rockets. One of them got their dad to make a firework holder, it had a wide base at the bottom, long, hollow, upright tube, and a platform surrounding the top of the tube which you could put stuff on. So one day Mr whats-his-name decided to put this firework holder on his shoulder, using the platform as a face guard so he couldn't see where he was going... and they would run up the streets with fireworks coming out of their faces. That made us all laugh... but yeah we all learnt a lesson when he showed us the scars.

Kiriyama
Lets see. Firework Bounced into my Gran's garden and exploded in neighbour's garden (phew). Fire exploded near car. like 1 metre away. If firework had made that car explode well a chain of explosions would have happened and I wouldn't be typing this. What if someone got hurt? Joke over. I love fireworks when they're used properly, but not when a group of chavs fire a load of rockets at me and my friends. ThurinEthir
I live in of the safest cities in the USA, so I guess I won't need to worry about that. Besides, almost all the kids in my neighborhood are nerds, I think over half of them are on the math team. And I used to be afraid of fireworks. The sound. Ergh. I finally got over it in 4th grade. And now, I enjoy them on July 4th, or SPECIAL occasions. Special as in when the Red Sox won their first World Series in 86 years. Not special as in completing Monkey Madness or Recipe for Disaster. They're annoying otherwise, especially late at night. Cenin pân nîd, istan pân nîd, dan nin ú-cenich, nin ú-istach.Ithil luin eria vi menel caran...Tîn dan delu. Firebird75
I love them but I do hate it in a way because on Halloween, me and my frends were basically playing around and then someone on the other side of the road throws an egg (bad enough) with a mighty mite taped to, threw it at a passing car. Man, those things are dangerous. But here in BC, it has been recently banned where I live, but you can either smuggle them over them from the states or go to an another district and get them. Banning them has made the demand even more.
