BlueLancer
I like to watch scary movies in the dark, sneak a little liquor, and sleep where ever the hell I want. Yeah, now that's the spirit for starting a weekend. 8-) Also, nobody has ever even attempted to break into anybody's house in our neighbourhood, so I don't really care about shutting my windows even if it's 2.am and pitch dark. The only lame thing is that I was just watching 'The Grudge' with my friend (not on the computer, a plasma), and being the sissy he is, he said "shouldn't we watch this when it's like.. Less dark". How about no, that would ruin the movie  He almost p* his pants. Ok, maybe not but I just wrote that because he sees what I type and now I'll hit submit and there's nothing he can do agsdg43bout itygdssd
adthegreat-
I think you just grow to deal with it rationally, i used to think, I've never been broken into before, what makes me think it will happen now, what are they chances of it happening. Well that did apply to me until: I was staying in a friends house in Turkey and we came back from going out and the house had been burgled. Three houses on my road were broken into in one week and 4 cars were stolen as a result. At that point i kind of had it in my mind that the house was going to be broken into and had mentally prepared for it, even though you can't know what it feels like to burgled, and i wasn't even in the presence of the criminals in turkey. At the end of the day, you and your family are the most important things, the other things in your house are probably covered by insurance, you just need to get yourself safe, and locked in a room preferably, I would say that most burglers will not hurt you, especially if you do not pose a threat to them. Worst case scenario is that you come face to face with a burgler, they take your car keys or whatever, they don't want to hurt you, they want to get away without being caught. And don't carry a wepaon unless you happen to be trained using it. You are increasing the stakes of potential conflict and posing a threat to a fundamentally aggressive and lawless peron. Fadfdfd
I used to hate being home alone back in 5th-6th grade. I locked all doors. EVERY DOOR. I LISTENED For every noise. I called my parents every minute. It's ok now, but I'm only ok with it. I don't mind it at all (I am still afraid of burglers though).
Shaddd
I LOVE being home alone, a sense of more responsibility, it's thrilling lol. Not to mention you can blast your music \ Exactly. If I'm home alone at night, all night. Yeah, I sleep at the door. Just scare yourself into a point where you're not scared anymore. Overcoming the fear. ;)

I was home alone a couple of weeks ago and my 2 of my neighbors came over to watch 'The Grudge' with me. So, being the scary movie fan I am (and nothing seems to scare me) I turned off all the lights, closed of the doors that let lights in from other rooms, and turn the volume way up. About 1/4 of the way through the movie my two neighbors got scared and I had to walk them home (they were girls, I didn't mind). So then I came home and watched the rest of it alone :XD: It really wasn't very scary, just jumpy.. I don't care about losing personal possesions but if someone breaks into my house, there's no way they're leaving without the thought of never coming back. I'll tell you this, I might looks small but I'm really not. I would take on a full grown man whether I had a knife (trust me, there's plenty of these in my house), a gun, or just my fists. Only a few people know how violent I can actually get when I'm mad. Internet Marketing For Newbies

While I agree burglars can be dangerous, that's a cowardly plan. If somebody breaks into my house, he's not even taking the mat without a fight, even if it means I get a bleeding nose. Most burglars aren't stupid enough to kill somebody to steal something worth a few thousand dollars and potentially end up in jail for over 10-20 years. It's not worth it. Also, I'd say you should always have a weapon ready even without training. Just because the person is aggressive or "lawless", he's still a human and if he breaks into my house I have the right to shoot him in his gun arm so that he can't threaten me. If we talk about a very highly detailed robbery and the robbers have armor and very powerful automatic weapons, then it would be stupid to do anything contrary to what they say. What the heck can you do in that situation? Nothing, but then again that kind of robbers don't waste their time on robbing average houses, they go for the bigger fish. Pete_the_Viscous
its just something different, you will get use to it. True. Hey -- I still don't like looking at dark windows when I'm alone in the house. I'm always sure a face is about to appear at it and look at me. But seriously, you'll get to the stage when if you wake up in the night and you've just had a dream about all sorts of monsters and whatnot, you'll just think "meh", and go back to sleep without even looking around the room. It's really just a case of getting used to it. The older you get, the more you realise that there isn't a monster waiting down the end of the hall. deviantart account
Ultralord
I used to be super freaked out of being home alone like 2 years ago (i was 12), because during that time, in the past month, every single house on my street except 3 (including mine) had gotten broken into! i carried my pellet gun, the biggest knife in my drawer, and the phone (just in case i needed to hide and call 911). the worst thing about this was that i hadn't had my alarm system yet. but everything was alright. just act like your the man of the house, be loud, lights on everywhere, your good. robbers tend not to break into the houses with lights on, because they're not gunna think. oooh noice! people awake lets go see how them and their nice goodies are doing! i have been at a friends house when it got broken into once, that kinda scarred me for a little while. we heard the door creak open in the back and we ran out the front door as we saw a guy walking down the hall :anxious: . since then i just keep every single light on in my house, put the tv on, etc. sorry if this might have kinda freaked you out a bit #-o =P http://www.keepingongaming.com/boards -- Sign Up
The Dark Lord
Just do something to take your mind off of it. Read a book. Watch television. Get online and play RuneScape or get into discussions with people like I am doing right now. Personally, I am very annoyed by my parents almost most of the time. They just get on my nerves, simple as that. So, when I get an opportunity to be home alone, I take it. SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on. Barihawk
I was scared until my 16th birthday, when I recieved as a gift a 12-guage security blanket. Never been worried since. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Believe me, nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won. -Sir Arthur Wellesley

I can listen to music loud, raid the cupboards and fridges as much as I want. Zonorhc
Well, besides having spent some time alone in the house over the past few years when mum goes overseas and stuff, I'm also going to be living on my own next year, closer to uni. It's nice. I can cook for myself, so it's not much of a problem. I love it when I'm home alone. Apparently, so does my girlfriend. =P Varrock Library: Shattered Sky | Silent Thunder | The Emperor's FinestAstri @ MythWeavers

Randox
Get an alarm like ours that makes an arhorn look wimpy :D I used to not like being home alone because the house makes alot of noise especily if theres wind but having a radio or tv being on in another part of the house helps, or you could just watch the tv. Also if you have a pet like a dog you wont be completly alone, plus many dogs will defend their owners.
