Well..on countless threads ive seen things like "sell youre rare now itll go down" or "sell that guthans now!". Well as I was seeing those a thought popped in my head. Of course there will be a lot of sellers of these items around when hunting comes out. But what about everybody buying the items? Trying to get them as cheap as they can. IMO it wont be as big of a drop as some people are thinking because there will also be a demand for items after the skill comes out for a chance for people to get items cheap.

Well, price = what people are willing to pay for it/sell for. You may be willing to buy an item, but only at a certain price. So even though there is the demand, a price will still fall.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There is high demand for Santas. Everyone wants one. But theyre still 20M+ and no one will buy that high.

I think people have the effect of hunting dead backwards and I'm loving it. I won't say more, but we'll see whose right in the end.

as much as they've dropped, i would imagine now is a GREAT time to buy. With Christmas coming up and the fact that rares will always go up over time anyway, this is a good chance for both long-term and short-term "investors"

If I had money to buy rares or high-priced popular items like guthans or whips, I would do so now, because people think they'll need money for the new skill and selling their normal training equipment for low prices. Depending what the new skill is like the prices will prolly go back up. Prices started going down straight after the release of behind the scenes article cos people saw what was coming.

 

 

 

Now it's imo too late to sell your items, not worth it if you want to buy them back after the first weeks of hunter.

not a good time to sell. if u can wait a few months after things cool off, it should be back to normal, but hunting can maybe do some thngs to the economy that we don't know.

I bought my first Santa 2 days ago too :) 21.4M and 25 Addy boots :P .

If i had any money at all on my account i would buy a rare too. Only around one million gp worth of items.

In my opinion, rares won't go down in price with hunting, they will go up. They went down with the capes of achievement, and they've already started to go up, so i doubt they will go down again. Buyers think they're going down = they buy; they buy = prices go down. The prices only depend on what people are willing to buy / sell for. If you looked at the forums on the past days, there were alot of threads like "buying red mask 34mil" "selling red mask 45mil". That means people are NOT going to let the prices go down.

just 100 new items... all go for 100k each (not rare) and just around 10 of them will keep there value... but yes if they need money for hunting, barrow and rares will drop for a sec...

Just look what happened to Halloween Masks, sure.. they came down just after construction, But then they shot up higher than ever before soon after.

Know why they want hunting? Earlier this year, Jagex listed hunting as a skill on the bug report page, guaranteeing that hunting would be a future update.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There's no proof to backup a statement that Jagex rushed hunting, because you cannot prove how long they've been working on it.

Based on con this wont be a money drain most likely, people are still working on con as we type. Jagex knows this, I bet this will be for fun.
