28 November 2006 - Eagles' Peak

It had been a tough month at Ardougne Zoo. Word had come from Matthias, the falconer, that a Hunter skill was coming, and the keepers knew they had to do something to keep the zoo interesting. A new exhibit, it had been decided, was needed to draw the crowds away from the chinchompa-baiting to the south and Nickolaus - Ardougne's self proclaimed top Hunter - had taken the task upon himself. There was one animal in particular that he believed would keep the zoo bustling and popular. Nickolaus was going to hunt a ferret!

Unfortunately, not everything has gone according to plan. After setting out for the far western reaches, somewhere between the Piscatoris Fishing Colony and the Tree Gnome Stronghold, nothing more has been heard from the zoo's eccentric associate. Can you help to find Nickolaus? Has his disappearance got anything to do with the fabled Eagles' Peak? And what does all this have to do with rabbits?

Visit Charlie, one of the keepers at Ardougne Zoo, to begin a quest that will no doubt involve a spot of dressing-up, elaborate trials and several additions to your Hunter skill!

The Sandwich Lady went through a traumatic experience last week when she decided that the Drunken Dwarf had been stationary too long and needed a visit. Five hours of ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åkebab, please!ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

27 Hunter req, not tooo bad compared to what new skill's quests usually are :P And rabbit hunting now, with increased chances of getting nests for woodcutting, always good. :) Would've been nice to have a few more high leveled animals to catch, but oh well :P

simply 'Flush' the rabbit hole by right-clicking it with a ferret in your inventory

A use for ferrets now too, they chase out the Rabbits :P

stringing the rabit foot only gives 4 xp and it gives no stat bonus

ps:

"Rabbit snare rewards:

The rabbit, aside from leaving you with bones and raw rabbit meat, will leave behind a lucky rabbit's foot. This small and innocuous item can be strung, with level 37 Crafting and a ball of wool, to make a rabbit-foot necklace - an invaluable tool for Woodcutting masters. This reward will greatly increase your chance of receiving a bird's nest when Woodcutting."

The reward of strung rabbit foot (getting more nests) makes me feel even more like bird's eggs are coming into play quite soon...

Agreed I was thinking the same when I was reading the knowledge base.

I think this update is to benefit those who cannot afford or who cannot do Manage thy Kingdom.

thanks arcticrunite - that's the kind of detailed info I love to see!

Although it's an easy quest, those seeking hints can find a very basic guide here: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=574956

Although he's evidently too modest to say it, Adamskii has also put together a transportation guide for the new Eagle's network here: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=574981

it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.
