And you're excited? Future-smoke addict :-w

It wouldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t make sense to legalize it in Michigan if they don't legalize it everywhere. All that would do is increase drug trafficking.

What's the obsession with the stuff?

Still very much illegal here in Texas. They better tax the stuffing out of it.

Hopefully double what it costs, that's pathetic.

Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so.

Its been on the ballot for oregon numerous times and it hasn't passed. Dont be so excited.

Hope it'll be legalized there, other states/countrys could follow. \'

And to the "Future smoke-addict" post:

Cannabis doesn't cause physical addiction, only psychological. ::'

On the other hand, alcohol, has much worse effects on body & mind. Alcohol also has physical addiction, and withdrawal from alcohol can actually kill you.

hehe, the idea is fun but in reality it wouldn't be

Runescape is only psychological but it's still pretty damn addicting...

Only good thing I see coming out of this (if it's passed) is Michigan State will be too high to show up to their football games.

I'd still say that Weed would remain on the banned substances list for any sports players ;)

How would they tax it if people can grow it at home?

Satellites tuned to use IR sensors to spot the growing lamps which use a different temperature than any other lamp in the US. Unless you are just a pothead who managed to get a seed and grows his own (very rare, considering how expensive a cannabis seed is), you could not "go into business for yourself" without the government knowing about it.

You can tax rolling sheets, roach and tobacco which are all ingredients in the typical joint. Also you could need a license to grow your own for personal use. If found to be growing more than for one persons consumption that would be considered a criminal offence.

But you don't make Runescape illegal.. it's up to the individual to choose it or not, and not to abuse it, and get help if ze needs it :D

I don't smoke pot, but I am still hugely in favor of marijuana legalization. I hope this passes.

Everybody hug and spread the love :D

Yeah, but you don't see government money being wasted on people getting off Runescape addictions.

Bloody hell. I hate Michigan. Well, I guess we can add this to our list of achievements, alongside the fattest, and second highest crime rate city, Detroit.

If I can't move to Europe when I turn 18, than I'm going to Ontario. It's perfect, it's not to far from home, there's even a good university in Guelph. I love Canada!!It's just expensive.

Wouldn't that just inspire people to use bongs? And then if they taxed them, homemade bongs? Also I'm pretty certain you couldn't tax roach - all of my friends who smoke weed just use any card that is lying around.

Using a bong is just better, it's not as harmful as your lungs. :)

And viktorkrum, huh? Couldn't understand. :-k

Also, if using a bong was indeed taxed, it is just a one-off purchase. One bong smokes many year's worth of weed so any tax money gained from that will be minimal compared to rolling papers which one would need a constant supply of.

The license would be a good idea, but it may end up a waste of resources to track who is growing unlicensed small amounts of weed. It is likely to take more money to track them down than will be gained from people buying licenses if they have to use satellites.

The satellites are already there, and cost less to operate than cable TV :P. The only cost really is the salary for the guys and gals watching them, and those salaries are already being paid.

Trust me, if it involves money and taxes, the government will deal with it.

If they are already there is there not a cost for getting time on them? Or another, perhaps not monetary, cost associated with them not being able to do other tasks whilst they're being used to scout for illegal growing?
