I'm not sure what it is, it might be the black outlines, but the characters just look out of place for some reason... other than that its really good

99 HP, Attack, Strength, Defence, Summoning, Ranged, Herblore, Prayer, Agility, Magic, Slayer, Fletching, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Thieving.

Jagex'd out of my untrimmed hp cape on 6/14/2011.

black lines arent used to advantage, so you should be-rid of them, also do some work on the anatomy.

its not teh black outlines on the people, its the inconsistancy of the outline color. he has black outlines on the people, and look at everything else? colored lines. thats why they look out of place. ive nagged him for a while about it too, but he wont quit. its like smoking. hes smoking black outlines. sorry for going off topic.

wop wop

Excellent, anatomy needs work, and a few color choices need to be made for consistency.

However the glass is excellent!

Anyway, could we see it with coloured lines, just to see if black lines do look any better? :-s

Writing in colour was fun while it lasted...

Firstly, Welcome back once again m0ther ::'

secondly, I disagree sadly haha, black lines can work well to a certain degree, I wouldn't try convice anyone that coloured lines are a necessity in pixel art cus it just isn't, it doesn't matter how you go about doing anything if that in the end your results are exactly what you intented, I would just add that your lines maybe do look a bit too intruding on your piece, the solution could be to simply change the colour of your linework if you wish, but if you wish to keep your black you could just break through the linework.. This isn't colour by numbers so keeping within the lines isn't essential, in fact it can smoothen up your work and make some details easier to see...

Here's a quick example of how I mean, only a slight difference but it does reduce the boldness of the lines..

changexp0.gif

Its similar to AAing but not as complicated, just colour a pixel or two into your linework..

But yes don't feel obliged to do this if you don't want to, my advice would be to try out what people tell you, see if it helps at all.. At the end of the day you're your own person, but please take it into consideration.

My opinions are that you're actually a pretty good pixel artist Y0ur_m0ther, your perspective looks good, characters look nice and your colouring/shading works well, any other advice would be to up the contrast in certain places, like the white areas, add some light blues for shading.. The grass is great but comparing to the characters they kinda look seperated, maybe add some grass stems around her feet? other than that its great, your doin well  ..

Oh and fancy borders always look nice :) Finishes of your signatures well.

you seem to have an interesting Idea of female anatomy, everything except the head is very stocky, which seems to be the norm in your signetures with females, female anatomy is smooth and flowing, the anatomy of a female is different from a males. Lookie at this, it is a very nice break down of female anatomy, and someone slap me if this whole thing is uncalled for because I am wrong and he is right  anyways,

nope, im with you on this one. his girls always look really bulky. possibly a result of his linework tho, not his anatomy. dont misinterperate this, but your lines kinda "jerk around" a bit, again, could be just me.
