I'm sick of waiting for 70 range (the recommended lvl for fight caves). At the moment, i have 65 range and I'm lvl 97 combat. I dont think i can wait for the recommended stats...so i'm gonna go for the fire cape =). I made it to the 360's with several prayer pots, whip, some sharks, and steel arrows(=p) on a test trial. I'm thinking of bring full inventory of prayer pots, several sharks, 3000 rune arrows + mage short, red dhide set (all i can use), whip or possibly full guthans, leaning more towards whip. Does anyone think i have the slightest chance? I was just looking for some advice from people who have defeated jad before i waste a lot of money...thanx

well i think your going to make it to jad and die...making to jad is really easy, with higher range it takes less time to kill jad which means less prayer switchs :P

Get guthans, get 99 att and str. Then you'd have a cape just as good as fire cape.

If you do everything right you can beat him. It's just is going to be a lot harder.

Why would you lean towards a whip though, get those levels, patience pays off.

I was like lvl 50 also, I had 40 attack 65+ str. It's easy.

Get some red chinchompas and head to pc you'll gain about 6 lvls in 2mins if you find an infested portal

....whats with people these days. Havent any of you seen the level 47 with a fire cape? If you use your prayer right and read some guides you should be able to get one.

wow ok...whoever said i was crying about not having 70 range? I was just anxious to get a fire cape, as most of my friends have one. It was just one of my goals during this christmas break, to get 70 range and fire cape. Btw, i did make it to jad, got his health 1/4th of the way down, and ran out of prayer pots, all of this with rune arrows, prayer pots, and sharks. But i have definately learned that 70 range is needed for the high range bonus with the crystal bow or karils cb. But thanx for your comments, good and bad =)

a pure defeated jad at 63range/1defence/43prayer (with ancients to help) so im sure you can..just alot harder

If you can't be bothered to wait for 70 ranged then quite frankly I don't think you deserve the cape. Besides your ranged is very low for your level. I personally keep my ranged 20 levels below my combat level.

From what I've seen and heard, because you don't have 70 Range you will need Guthans and you will probably want to take runes for Magicks.

Hmm...ok your opinion i respect and yes my range is low for my lvl, but i wouldn't say very low. Personally i can't stand ranging, the picking up of the arrows and whatnot, sorry that's just not me. I'm sure there's plenty of high lvl's who don't enjoy ranging like the other combat styles and who probably have a low range lvl...who knows

just think once u get 70 range and use a cyristal bow there will be no more arrows to pick up

I don't like ranging an dI'm 99 combat. My ranging level? 80. Could I easily get a fire cape? Yes. (Do I suck at prayer switching? Yes but that's completely beside the point) Just get 70 rangign it will make it cheaper and easier. Without ancients and 70 ranging you just won't have enough prayer pots.

if you really know what your doing then yes you can get it with your stats. provided you have the exactly right invent and set up. However as it will be your first real time you probably wont succeed. But thats less to do with your level and more to do with lack of experience

My guess is that also that you will fail.

 

 

 

I also tried the fight caves a few times and I never even made it to Jad (which was because of a stupid mistake on my part, but still). And I'm nearly 79 range. The monsters before Jad are not so hard though, utilising the safespots that is.
