How to Make the World a Better Place.

Featured Replies

I am trying to think up ways to make the world a better place without volunteering or donating. I want to do something for the community that makes the world a better place but doesn't have to be noticed. Like picking up trash or buying a stranger lunch.

Something that I could even do in school. The goal is to make the world a better place with as little planning as possible.

Okay?

Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so.

without donating or volunteering...

all that i can think of is that you demand people to make the world a better place no questions asked and if they say no... well... i'll leave that for you to decide...

Don't litter

Don't waste electricity.

recycle

Me doing staff.

Ummmm im not stealing or anything (Yes i am, but ignore it!) But i saw a movie once called "Pay it forward". The ideology behind this is that you do a small favour for three people. These favours cant just be like helping them do what every daily task they want, its more of a life changing favours. The problem though is people seem to think life changing means huge. But actually, the smallest things can make the biggest difference.

Edit: After you help the first three, you tell them about this, and then they go ahead and do three more favours. Through his, the whole world could be helped.

That was a good movie.. I think it would be pretty cool to see something like that put into action :-k

Join the army, be all that you can be! (and then die in a pointless war, supposedly protecting your country) <.<

Expand your mind, give the world 1 more person with an actual IQ, because at the moment, we are in desperate need. And when I say expand your mind, I don't mean just learn, knowledge is somewhat useful, though pointless when it comes down to things, we need wisdom, create your own philosophys and expand them every day and do not be ashamed when your thoughts are proven wrong, losses give you the chance to expand on your philosophy, become the next Plato or Confucious, you will do the world a great favor in the end, much more than you can do by picking up trash or donating money.

Its an accomplishment that never really goes away.

if you want to make the world a better place raise an army and invade and take over a third world dictatorship and replace it with your benevolent rule. of course that assumes that your nature is benevolent and that no ones going to get hurt when you fight a war against a ruthless dictator.

ahh well theres an idea at least.

Just concentrate on your studies for now, get to college, and then do something with your knowledge.

There is a star trek where they accidentally abduct a guy from present day time. They decide to just send him back to Earth because he made no 'signifigant contribution' to society. My goal is to make my 'signifigant contribution' somehow before I die, and hopefully it will be for the better.

In the meantime the best you can do is just be a good person and try help others to become better people too.

or that would also work.

Just doing something to help someone out. :D If someone drops their books in the hallway, help them pick them up. Hold the door open for someone, take their worksheet up to the front of the room and turn it in for them, help them with their homework, be there to console someone, or just be there for small talk. ^_^ It doesn't have to be something huge like, giving them your paycheck. The small things really do add up.

Good idea. No more human-related problems after you do that \' .

Becomes a big problem when people start taking advantage of you because of a good deed you do for them. Be careful about some actions, and make it clear it's a one-time thing.

umm i was on vacation and i saw a homeless guy and i had a loaf of bread so i gave it to him

i guess giving homeless people food if you live in a city would be good- maybe by them something from mcdonalds or burger king (hehe happy meal anyone?) if there is one near

Anyone.

The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past.

Yeah. I know about that. I used to have people take advantage of me a lot. Not just for small favors either. I got tired of it, and decided to be more careful about what I do.

At school, help the janitors out. At least at my school no one gives them any respect and at lunch everyone just leaves their junk around so they can pick it up. Offer to help them pick some stuff or anything else they might need help with. Pick up your own junk and tell your friends to do the same. That's just a small way you can help. I've done that a few times at my school, and the janitors really appreciate it. Those guys deserve WAY more respect than they get.

And the bible is the big book of lies, call me a racist if you must.

So is this like a school project or something? :-s

The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak.

In the event that the weighted companion cube does speak, the Enrichment Center urges you to disregard its advice.

If he seriously says yes, I'm giving up all faith I have in humanity and joining Viktor in his plea to destroy all humans. -.-
