Your world link has to be in quotation marks.

Just as I suspected.... <.<<.<

i sent in a query to Jagex, and this is what i got as an answer:

modpogho0.th.jpg

i got it fairly quick too, i wasnt expecting that.

YOU GOTTA LOVE THIS GUYS NAME!

Mod Pog, lol, love it! ::' \' ::'

Obviously that Mod doesn't know what you mean, and once again uses a template.

Since first off all, a shortcut is something you make in notepad or something similar, not a 3rd party program.

And second, you get the whole explanation we always get.

To me another prove they don't actually read what you say.

That on the side, for me it works perfectly, I will use it to get into the merchant worlds :)

I also believe that they can't see if you use the shortcut, since it just uses your normal webbrowser like it always would.

Actually, I think they do. I sent in a question, and it was a unique one. :P It was asking if there were any orange clothes in the game. (Dont ask.)

IT WORKED!@! I've been trying to get this to work forever.... But, this time I refreshed worlds page like 10 times til w2 was open. THEN right click and copy and paste url. Before I did it when w2 was full. And it just took me to the worlds page.

I'M SO HAPPY!!! THANKS!!

Before whenever W2 would be open, I'd open it and then open another rs window to play. But my bros kept on closing W2. I don't have to worry about that anymore.

THANKS!

EDIT:Ok, it worked on the other comp. But when I tried to do it on this comp, it said my comp is blocking activex control. And even when I make it allow activex the website still won't come up. Any ideas?

Hmm I had my dad enter in the pass for our security network, as it was blocking the page... re-opened and it worked.

This is against the rules! The html webpage is 3rd party software that is giving an advantage.

And how do you figure it is 3Rd party?

"Party" 1 = Jagex

"Party" 2 = You

"Party" 3 = Anyone else.

Guess who makes the html page? You (Party 2)

Guess who made the code you use in your page? Jagex (Party 1)

NO 3RD PARTY SOFTWARE IS INVOLVED!

walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come

thank for the guide. me being a merchanter, i can never get on world 1. now, i can get onto world 1 as easily as world 85(my favorite world).

Me too!!

But note that you need Javascript disabled, or you'll just end up on the homepage, at least for me.

This means nothing because the desktop shortcut does not link to the runescape world, it links to a html file which contains 3rd party code that bypasses the normal navigation of the RuneScape website.

Quoting Runescape rule 7:

"It must not bypass the normal navigation of our website for users wishing to reach the game worlds. The software should initially only point at the front page of http://www.runescape.com, and should require the user to navigate through the website normally to reach the game worlds. The software must not contain or acquire direct links to our "Select a world" page, or to our game world pages, or to the RuneScape applet."

This is exactly what your html file does, i know none of you can understand this but this does breach rule 7.
