âš¿How "Tight-Knit" Is the OT Community In Your Eyes And Wh

I fully agree, except for the part where you said it's not going downhill. The community feel is gone since some people left and some people joined. Even I wasn't as arrogant as some of these people when I joined.

The newer people had probably labeled me as an arse, but the thing is, I wouldn't be an [wagon] to you if you weren't one to begin with.

Yeah, most of the flames came from the overusage of (). People took that as very rude (I did also), then someone would respond sarcastically. Then a 3rd person would come along, not notice why you responded sarcastically, and then flame you for it. It was quite messy.

Last year at this time, the OT was all about [] emote and attacking the poster with as much sarcasm as you could muster.

Now I'd say its greatly evolved. I haven't really seen too much of the emote I truly hate. I would'nt necesairly call it a community though. We're more like a group of people that come together to debate, and are mostly friendly about it. Not necessairly friends though. The debating can get preety hot, so chances of becoming friends are much less. Although people now keep their cool much more often.

I agree

What I noticed would happen a lot is that you'd have people using  with inside jokes; which some 3rd part who knows neither of them would then attack one of the others about it - then it'd get explained and they'd have a bit of a cry and flame some more :uhh:

Wouldn't have been so bad if people would learn to notice that if they don't know either person; or why some apparently unrelated comment was thrown it - chances are it's an inside joke between the two of them and shouldn't comment on it.

I'd say this community is fairly close-knit. It seems a lot more then the usual General P2P and so on.

I'm just wondering if people count me as a 'friend', I doubt it though (with the exception of Issy and Fad).

[Admin Edit: No naming names in a negative light]

I have total trust in this community.

This is a tight-knight community. ^_^ But, I get along with everyone here. ^_^

For the short time I've been here, I've found this to be a tigher-than-usual forum, as opposed to the RS forums. I like it a lot here and even have a couple of you on AIM.

The code in my sig should say 1032 not 0132.

I am currently dealing with a rude consparicy theorist newcomer. Just like old times. I even used {}. Fun...

I think these forums are more tight-knit that others. A decent few people go by first names rather than usernames and we all get along for the most part. I think the biggest things that keep us from being closer is the no personal info/pics rules and that there are quite a few people in here who only stop by now and then rather than often like some of us.

The board rules do support apartness(omg I can't think of the word) a lot more than most others...

and I think there are at least 4 definitions of "The Old TIF" going on in this thread :uhh:

Yeah that's a definition of it, but not the word I wanted.. I'm sure it'll come to me when it makes no difference(like when I'm falling asleep lol)

I probably remember less of these boards than I should-it's probably since they've all just become a blur of me being here too long

seems pretty close

but i dont think anything could beat the old WoW OT

they were crazy

but most got banned or just left after stricter rules came :?

ill miss them

New Sig Coming soon!

I miss a lot of the older posters, though I got in a lot of debates with them, I felt sorta close to them. I'm starting to get used to how things are now though, and everyone seems pretty close.

When the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!

OT is as tight as a fish's bumhole. :P (as the saying goes).

I think we all have a mutual respect for one another around here, and you do have your closer" friends" on these boards, the ones you get along with a lot better than others. Its a good forum to be apart of. And its a lot more of a relaxed environment than the other boards on TIF thanks mainly to the Mods. :)

EDIT: OMGGZZZ 1700!!11! P05tS Zee 133777!!11!

I think it's been closer in the past, but that maybe was just between certain users, and they have moved on, and taken that sense of it with them. I don't know, but it certainly feels different.

"Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

Meh, I think people are much more aware of each other in this forum than the others, but to call it a tight knit community... I just come here to post and leave. Doubt I add much to it.

SHH HUT YUH MUH. DERKHED.

We all know each other, but I could hardly call half of them friends. We are all... acquaintances.

Yea. I'd say it' somewhere in between those two.

122 Combat : 99 Hits : 99 Attack : 99 Strength

97/99 Defence : 99 Fletching : 99 Woodcutting

i think the modern one is kinda friendly (atleast in most discussions) and we just al go here to debate some in a pretty friendly way (or if not friendly we forget fast)

Meh, fairly. I'd call us all friends.

That is one of the last things I thought I'd ever hear (ok, technically, see) anyone type...

Still we all kinda know each other... so yeah close knit.

I agree, I was surprised at the low amount of flaming at the Evolution thread. It really has evolved alot.
