They could have been thousands of years and thus you could have have evolution. Now show me how evolution is simple.. And don't tell me 'things evolved.' Tell me how they did it, what happened in their bodies and why it happened. Simple, isn't it? Nothing is as simple as 'God made it.' There is a scientific explanation for almost everything.

Yes, there are times when God is the only explanation I can come up with for things. However, there are some things that are unexplainable even with God as an option. Such as ghosts. Many people claim to have seen then, many claim to believe, and others choose not to. But I don't think God is wandering through my house at night or scaring the living daylight out of young children.

 

 

 

If you care to know, I'm agnostic (not athiest). I believe there may be a God however I don't feel we as humans will ever know the truth (that is, until you die).

If there were a God, and It were to reveal Itself to humans, wouldn't it be possible and logical for one system to have all the right facts? I think some teachings of the Bible are greatly outdated. From what I see out of most Christians, the Bible says Christianity is right and everybody elses' beliefs can go rot in Hell. I think a lot of people should stop taking the Bible so seriously. When was the last time it said "Updating ... Please wait"? The Bible was written thousands of years ago and the beliefs of the time were in there. Times have changed since then. I don't mind people believing in Christianity but I want them to at least respect my right to believe what I want without having it slammed in my face..

Christians arn't persecuted really. All religions are questioned by people and they should praise that questioning. Without it they wouldn't question anything and their religion would become a dead dogma. Why people beleive is much more important on this earth that what they beleive to me.

They get shut down a lot because debate on a forum is focused around logic. Religion in a sense defies logic, and is based on faith. Therefore it's hard to back it up on a forum, and easy to attack it.

I suppose so, I ment more like it was highly improbable. In all of the universes and all the sentient races that exist, it wouldn't make much sense for any religion to have a proper, complete view of a "God", if one exists.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We on earth argue over Gods existence, and we all have the same history of thinkers and religions influencing our ancestors, and and thus our ideas are melded together in the fact that they all stretch out from one common source in history. What of some other race on another planet, who's "source of knowledge" is completely different, having no influence from our thinkers, thus resulting in a completely different worldwide ideology? There could an infinite number of planets like that, so thinking that any religion on our planet is not only more accurate than the other religions on this planet, but more accurate than all the other beliefs throughout the universes, it just doesn't seem to make any sense.

Yea I hear more slamming on religion than I do on Atheism.

 

 

 

For example, for some reason my friend seems to always make a point to mention that "there is no God" whenever he can. I'm just sitting there thinking "why?". Why does he need to constantly say that? The only reason Christianity is against homosexuality is that it's not procreative, and even then, nearly all Christians (including pastors, bishops, etc. not just followers) have nothing against homosexuality. True. But these days we have laws in place to punish those who do wrong. However, I see where you're coming from. Some people don't commit crimes soley because they want to go to Heaven.

Everything in the bible is opinion. It says to love your fellow man. Thats opinion only that opinion benefits society. What benefits society will change and change too, so nothing in there could possibly be always relevant to what is best.
