The kids on South Park are not to be imitated. They're there to be protagonists in bringing the afore mentioned humour to the show.

The show is for adults. It has adult humour in it. That's clear and presented by South Park itself. Don't blame the show for influencing kids, that's down to inept parenthood at letting their kids watch an adult show. Being a cartoon doesn't mean smeg all.

But the show portrays children, and children will watch. Whether their parents want them to or not.

And unfortunately, the immature brats do imitate them.

Sorry, but your logic applies to so many other shows out there. I fail to see South Park as any different to them.

Now, if you think it's a case of too much smut on telly as a whole, including these other shows, well fair call, that's what you believe. I can't challenge what you fundamentally believe.

The new Simpsons (it was family friendly a decade ago!), Family Guy, American Dad, just about every other "comedy" show out there.

Yeah Bubsa, South Park is not alone. I'm sick of producers disguising all this innapropriate crap as cartoons.

About that whole "It hits the fan", wasn't it the point of the whole show that we shouldn't curse so much? Yeah they said the s word 150+ times, but it did have a moral to it.

Well, they weren't exactly saying you shouldn't say s*** because it is a bad word, just that saying it in excess makes it boring and meaningless.

That's exactly what I said. A lot of episodes are vulgar and maybe excessive, but they usually do have a kind of ironic moral or theme.

I'm a teacher

Yet you refer to children as

immature brats

You caught me in a moment of release. I love kids, but they shouldn't be exposed to this junk. Parents don't use the V-Chip enough.

I caught an 11-year old wearing a Cartman shirt smoking once when student teaching. As I ripped it out of his mouth, he told me to "F*** Off!"

He got away scot-free because the school didn't want to punish him. Those are the kids I have a hard time dealing with.

Sorry for shocking you.

The show's intended audience might get that irony, but the 12-year olds will not.

And I wonder why kids are cursing more and more earlier and earlier.

I'm a teacher, and it saddens me to see children acting like the Southpark show.

You know it kind of annoys me that people will be quick to jump all over an 'offensive' show when the standard mode of parenting these days is to feed kids a diet of 8 hours of TV a day. Blame the parents, not the device they shove thier kids in front of.

South Park rocks \' .

Barihawk, using the excuse kids will watch it anyways is the single handedly stupidest excuse ever. It's called parrenting -- learn it.

I know parents who set up the chip or satellite but their kids go over to friend's houses to watch it.

While certainly I will make sure offensive junk like that won't be shown to my kids in my house, and even in chaperoned houses, they will still be able to find someplace to watch it.

Yes, parents are guilty for some kid's shortcomings. But parents can't be everywhere at once.

And while I don't have kids, I will probably raise them on limited TV time like my parents did to me.

The simple fact is you can not simply censor everything because someone thinks it is bad for a kid. Also, if you actualy watched some of the episodes they generaly have a moral at the end (even if a bit ironic).

Hell, the episode where jesus boxed satan even showed that everyone lost out because they did not have faith in jesus.

As I said two of my posts ago, there are morals. But the only people that would understand them are the TV-MA crowd. Younger kids are not going to get the morals, they are just going to laugh at the potty humor and think it's cool to swear.

I like the older episodes more, when Cartman was just an annoying kid that'd complain about everything. Now they just make him too serious and impersonate him too much into other character types just to convey messages.

I'd say my favorite episode is where Cartman gets his revenge on that kid by making him eat his parents. Chinpokomon, global warming were funny ones too tho.

But yeah, in one of the few countries in the world that allows this kind of comedy to be shown, it should be the parents job to limit what they don't want their kids to watch. What's great about the US and other countries like it is that people can show almost anything, and people have the choice to watch it or not. If the parents raised their child well, the child can watch such shows and still grow up to be a good person.

I don't know, I did love how they turned cartman into almost an evil genius. Fits his personality completly.

The rain forest episode has got to be one of my favourites. Getting gay with kids and stuff. :P That and the succubus episode. About $3.50.

I'd prefer to watch South Park over most other animated shows because there's usually a point to it. People buying hybrid cars thinking they're so much better then everyone and making it funny.

1. Do you like South Park? Yes!

2. What are your favorite South Park episode(s)?

I would have to say the one with the underwear gnomes that deals with big business crushing smaller ones(I don't know which one it is and I'm too lazy to look it up).

3. Do you think South Park's gone too far?

Of course it has, but what, in this day in age, hasn't?
