Jys
1. Hmm, well, this should settle all the "should I buy a d axe" questions on the general help & advice forums. And it looks like it really does help alot. If you can cut 100 logs an hour w/ rune, you can cut 108 logs an hour w/ dragon axe. Thats 8 more logs, at 240 each, 1,920gp more PER HOUR. You'll have to cut for 1,562 hours to make up the money it took to buy a dragon axe. For the bonus it gives, I just don't think it's worth it.Well, that's ALOT of yew to cut, and alot of hours to take. But you can still sell the d axe when your done with woodcutting. And now, I wonder how many yews it will take with his new assumption(sp) of 14.3%. 14.3/100=0.143, which you then move over 2 decimals, so 14.3. So you would get around 114 or 115 logs an hour. So that's about an extra 3360gp per hour. I don't know how to figure the rest out, so you'll have to do that.

sirhcssog
great topic. obviously there is a consenus. if your gonna cut more than a few k yews or mages. d axe is the way to go. that was my thought when jagex first made them perform better. i honestly couldnt tell the difference. but figured between lvl 80 and 99 even a little improvement would add up to hours in the long run and make it worth the gp. VortexxM
I bought ( I see it as rented ) one and its the best investment I've made in the game! Im 96 wc now and will sell it back as soon as I get 99 wc. So, I believe you rent one just to get 99 wc and trade it back for a full return, or a slight loss, or even a profit. No matter you gained in time! D Wood Cutting Axe= FTW ( For The Win ) Combat Level 50 with "Five Skills Capes" Mining, Cooking, Firemaking, Fletching and Woodcutting Over 75 Million EXP!!!! meili
Thank you, this is a very interesting post and I will keep that in mind should I ever have the chance to buy d axe. I still have quite a few levels wc levels to go until I am satisfied and it might be worth it someday when I get p2p again. tomdavies90
don't want to have to point out the completely obvious but.... Dragon Axe improved Until today the dragon axe was only as good at cutting trees as a rune axe. We've now made it slightly better! However we have raised the woodcutting level requirement for chopping trees with this axe to 61 you sort of wasted your time...lol Sig by me.... What he did was very helpful....he help clarify what "slightly better" was! Thanks for all your work in clarifying what they meant by "slightly better" by putting into a more measurable term. mini193
i got 1 and noticed either a huge difference, or it just being me as i haven't wced in a while. But I'm always getting loads at maples done faster than every1 else, and it seems a lot faster. I say it is really better, too lazy to test though lol Doing a little bit of everything

aj926
If you're going for 99 WC, there is no other way than the D axe.
Tim
personally i find d axe to be a waste of money now, back when it was 1.9m or sumthing near that thats an ok price but now 3m? im extreamly bad at money making so i cant afford a d axe but i think the price should have stayed the same, just because the req went up by 20 levels isnt such a great loss. as for the cant get 99 without d axe, how did they do it before it realise eh?
