In WoTLK content now, about to ding 69. Feel pretty naked with only 5.2k hp though right about now.

We use http://eqdkp.com/ - our system doesn't work well for point-hoarders, because they end up getting no loot from earlier kills while they wait for XXX item to drop. It happened to me - I waited for the sword to drop in Hyjal while lots of great rogue loot went to part-time raiders and off-spec druid healers.

HP is a good bit better now. 7.1k HP, 640 Spell power, 20% crit [molten armor]. So not that great but a lot better than before...

It seems quite obvious to me at least that DKP was created so that guild leaders and officers wouldn't have to deal with all the drama and [cabbage] that would come up from having "loot councils", or any system that would let real people decide who gets what. If you have higher DKP than the other person rolling, even if he could really use it, you get the item, while the officers can just twirl their thumbs and go "sorry buddy, it's how the system works!".

Yeah it's a lazy way of doing loot. And, like I said before, it doesn't necesarily mean it rewards the "good" players, it rewards the players that show up all the time.

 

 

 

 

 

Nardil, you must be on a pretty good sevrer because i have lvl 80s on 3 Servers and on all of them, pretty much every player/guild are loot [bleep].

 

 

 

Well, I'm on Burning Blade (US). I guess the biggest thing though is the guild I raided with was never a crazy hardcore guild. Granted, we got through all of the TBC content (except they didn't even do sunwell, not sure why as I had quit before then) but we were still a fairly relaxed bit of players. Of course we expected people to be good, to bring potions, ect. ect. but I never remember having much loot drama at all. Even when the DST dropped and we had a very melee centric group we didn't seem to have any drama over it.

 

 

 

So maybe I did get lucky, it's certainly the only way I stomached raiding.

I'm currently trying to get exalted with stormwind so I can get their mount. I've been doing low level quests for the rep and I'm just over the half way point between exalted and revered. I've already cleared all of the duskwood, westfall, and thereamore quests. Probably going to go finish off the quests left in redrige, ellywin forest, southshore, the couple I can do in Stranglethorn Vale, and The Arathi Highlands tonight. My current character is a level 45 Dwarf Hunter on HellScream.

Turns out my roomate who was going to do DK/Mage with me is playing his Hunter instead now. It's fine, because he's good at the class, but it'll be interesting.

 

 

 

 

 

As such I'm starting to think of PvP builds for myself in the arena once I hit 80 here. Here are a few:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

61/11/0 Arcane/Fire

 

Pretty much just based around the idea that Arcane has a lot of instant casts. I was reading an article a few days ago on class balance, and the author really picked arcane as one of the big trees in the arena right now. Of course I never noticed until now that Arcane Barrage is instant cast. The buffs in 3.0.8 should help a lot. The fire bit is just for the shorter cast fire blast, extra crit and the pyroblast/silence immunity help.

 

 

 

18/0/53 Frost/Arcane

 

Mostly just a standard frost build. It's what I'm using (for the most part) right now while leveling. It'll have a lot of control which means I can keep the enemy where I (and my team mate) want them, and an Imp Counterspell Shatter combo would [bleep] up any healer.

 

 

 

 

 

I'm also thinking about an Arcane/frost build, something like 51/0/19 at the least. I would be able to go down to shatter which could help for extra damage. I don't think it'd be worth the loss of an instant cast pyroblast. (although I may even pick up 3/3 frostbite in the arcane/fire build just for ice armor frostbite procs)

I just have to say: Lol Frost/Arcane.

 

 

 

Go with a deep arcane build, much better. You'll get used to spamming Slow soon enough :)

 

 

 

Cleared half of Naxx25 now too. Continuing with Patchwerk tomorrow. Saving my DKP for T7 :)

So, if an ork wants the troll raptor mount, he shouldn't quest in durotar. Besides its not like its actually hard to do these quests. I mean, seriously the quest system fails at any level.

Mana Shield and Arcane Absorbtion is just as good as Ice Barrier, maybe better, slow gives far more control that Deep Freeze, especially with the huge health pools people have. If you can get off a Shatter Combo without being stunned or interrupted or the frozen person escaping then /applaud

Ran H VH today, got Ichoron first, no trouble, we even got his achievement, not allowing any globules to merge with him. You just hit the switch whenever he shatters and the globules all die. Then we get Erekem. Tell them, "Hey, don't kill the adds," and they kill the adds. We wipe, I rq.

I'm arcane now and I have to say I'm really enjoying it so far. I couldn't pick up Arcane absorption quite yet (too many good talents, argh!) but I should get it soon. Of course I'm trying to figure out what talents to take for my mix of PvE and PvP so I can still put 11 points in fire for my pyroblast...

The rtick with the first room is to seperate the gargoyles with LOS and pull them as far back to the entrance as possible.

holy moly...We were planning on running Naxx 25 tonight but for some reason a lot of players didint show so we cherrypicked 10 and went Malygos. The guilds only done the encounter once and only just got into phase 2, we have been so busy with naxx it has taken the backseat. So about 11 or so attempts we are at the point where we have P1 and P2 absolutely licked, we can do it with our eyes closed and slowly shaved off seconds till enrage.The final attempt we just made we entered on the drakes with over 4 minutes of enrage left almost double the first time we entered.Because of the chaos it wasnt a kill wiping at 15% because of people getting lost on the drakes and because teh draks have a huge graphic you can hardly see at all where you are in relation to others which is horrible for i as the only healer.

Same reason why im glad they nerfed lifebloom for just druids in general nevermind resto, kinda monotnous keeping youre three hots going with no real burst casting required.

I hit 55 this weekend and made a DK. The change from my mage was a radical one, but I like it.
