i dont know what new systems there are but it deffinitly surpasses the roll system

I know some guilds use a Loot Council. They decide who will make the best use of the item and then they will then give it to them or they spread the loot around so everyone gets their fair share.

That's actually a good thing. Especially when retaded female (IRL and in game) Night Elf Hunters decide they need to gank level 15-20 mail, and items no one is going to use, in a dead mines run when there is a pally w/ Enchanting who needs that stuff. I'm glad the pally aggroed 10 enemies and got everyone else killed as an act of revenge. Would have been better if he was a hunter and used fein death followed by sudo t-baging.

Yeah except that someone can just [bleep] DKP, skipping smaller loot upgrades, and then spend all of those points on a big item down the road. So effectively they can be a useless player and just show up and get the good loot.

I don't see why people don't need to go for anything other than a roll system and a slight loot council. I mean, roll for the gear and then the guild leaders/officers will make sure that that gear will be useful for those who want it. And maybe it's just with guilds you guys have been in, but when I raided (and we ran with only /rolls) people were very conscientious of if another player needed that upgrade badly (and it was a side upgrade for them) they would pass.

Maybe I was spoiled when I raided. I just don't like DKP though. The way I see it, if a person helps with that run then they should be entitled to getting a shot at gear that run.

I just love the whole Ensidia Vs. SaS drama. Its priceless.

Reminds me that I havent written a blog post for nearly a month... I'll get round to it eventually.

The DKP system is really unfair because of the point saving people do.

If you're looking for a more fair system, then you might look atEPGP.

It just looks so.. complicated. I'm not sure why people need more than any kind of need/greed system (within reason). I mean, it's just a game and it's just loot.

Like I said the most my guild ever did to change up the Need/Greed system is near the end of our raiding (once we started doing the last stuff in SSC/TK and starting Hyjal) than we came up with a system where the latest raid encounter (like Hyjal if we were working on it) would give loot preference to those with a higher rank. Every other raid before that would be a simple need/greed and, a lot of times, unless the higher rank person really wanted that item they would let anyone roll on it. Plus we always made sure that it would be a suitable upgrade.

So really, was I just lucky to have a good guild to raid with who wern't a bunch of loot [bleep]? (and if I raid casually again I'll do it with the same guild). Or am I not the only person who has had an easy experience with loot.

Finally got enough people at 80, so we're gonna start moving into 10-man Naxx. 11th. :0

I don't like the DKP system really, seems unfair on those who don't have the time to commit to a hardcore raiding guild :?

Well u just answered ur own thing just there, if ur in a hardcore raiding guild

and u find it unfair that people who hardcore get more DKP, hence more loot

and you dont hardcore... then why wud u need loot more than them

think about it as a guild, are peopl going to want to give amazing loot to people who they cant trust to be hardcore (remmber im talking at hardcore standard here 7/7 raiding)

Nardil, you must be on a pretty good sevrer because i have lvl 80s on 3 Servers and on all of them, pretty much every player/guild are loot [bleep].

Our guild uses EPGP - It's actually really easy - It's just the ingame notes I need to sort and that's it.

EPGP is by far and away the best form of loot control that I've come across.

If you really feel you need a system to determine who gets what and you cant just work it out amongst yourselves, EPGP is definitely the way to go.

The server I play on is still only 2 and a half months old and we're doing pretty [cabbage] guilds wise. There's 3 good raiding guilds, 2 of which are core and the other just has enough 80's. It's either hardcore with DKP system or nothing if you want to do end-game stuff and I, like many don't have the time to be on 5 nights a week for 5 hours.

It seems quite obvious to me at least that DKP was created so that guild leaders and officers wouldn't have to deal with all the drama and [cabbage] that would come up from having "loot councils", or any system that would let real people decide who gets what. If you have higher DKP than the other person rolling, even if he could really use it, you get the item, while the officers can just twirl their thumbs and go "sorry buddy, it's how the system works!".

Yeah it's a lazy way of doing loot. And, like I said before, it doesn't necesarily mean it rewards the "good" players, it rewards the players that show up all the time.

Well, I'm on Burning Blade (US). I guess the biggest thing though is the guild I raided with was never a crazy hardcore guild. Granted, we got through all of the TBC content (except they didn't even do sunwell, not sure why as I had quit before then) but we were still a fairly relaxed bit of players. Of course we expected people to be good, to bring potions, ect. ect. but I never remember having much loot drama at all. Even when the DST dropped and we had a very melee centric group we didn't seem to have any drama over it.

So maybe I did get lucky, it's certainly the only way I stomached raiding.

Totally agree. Never any loot drama and the rotten ones with loot have ben kicked very quickly, can spot them before they have even set foot in the instance, even had a druid trying to buy tier tokens off players.

EDIT:Finally downed thaddius 25 man first time and it was progress rife with problems. 1.5 seconds of lag, constant disconnects, people with enough lag that tehy could time there jump onto the main platform o.O, but after 2 hours and about 35 differant players rotated in and outtill we had 25 dudes who wouldnt lag out jumping of a platform, we did it.

We didnt expect it to be so diffcult requireing almost no deaths at all.and no dedicated healers but helaers throwing out a healing wave or chain heal if absolutely necessary.Saphirron awaits, after we clear military quarter :>
