Same reason why im glad they nerfed lifebloom for just druids in general nevermind resto, kinda monotnous keeping youre three hots going with no real burst casting required.

That's bad news for me. For a while there I was only taking druids as healers because they were doing so much better than any other class.

Healadins need some buffs though. They really can't heal for crap atm.

Make sure you have addons, they really help you in WoW.

Up to you on what to have, but QuestHelper is a MUST for levelling quicker. It will show you where to go and what you need to do, so you don't waste any time questing. Get it here - http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/quest-helper.aspx

There are many other useful addons, but that is one of the must haves for quick levelling.

At your level, you should be questing around Westfall. Sentinel Hill offers plenty of quests to do there. Once you've done everything you can there, head up to Redridge Mountains. (Its east from Elwynn Forest.) Go to Lakeshire and start questing there, there is plenty of quests there.

That should get you on track to about level 23-25.

Don't forget to group up and head to Deadmines. (Located in Moonbrook, Westfall) Recommend that you be at least level 18 before trying it, unless you're getting a run through.

I disagree with getting addons. Having a program tell you what to do ruins the fun and experience of the game. Half of the fun is exploring, finding new places, stumbling on giant monsters (we've all done it \' ) and gaining knowledge of the game while you level. Also, you'll rarely find a group to do low level instances with right now (most are leveling their main toons).

Endgame and still haven't ever used a single addon. 8-)

And please, if it's your first time in a dungeon tell them you would be better off as DPS. Nothing worse than a new (or bad) player trying to heal or tank and failing horribly.

72 1/2 right now, kind of leveling slow. Sped through 1-70 and now it's gotten a lot slower. :P Also I read an article on WoWInsider.com about minimum heroics gear/DPS. A guy suggested around 1.8k-2k minimum for heroic DPS @ 80, that sound about right? I mean, I'm putting out 1100DPS right now in my questing greens and blues so I don't think I have anything to worry about :P.

Or we can leave the player up to decide that. People play this game for varying number of reasons. I, for one, hate the "hide and seek" type of gameplay WoW quests generally offer -- and a mod such as questHelper is great. I've said it time and time again but making people go hide and seek for mobs is an out dated mechanic which has been done away with in more recent MMORPG's.

And when you look at it, your character owns a map. A majority of quests the quest giver KNOWS where the monsters are. There was no reason they couldn't point it out on your "map" for you, from a pure RP perspective.

Other addons though, I won't really say anything. I love addons, I love how my game looks with them. To be frank I couldn't play the game without something like Pitbull (Basic unit frames such [wagon]), Bartender (basic hotbar is HUGE and sucks, too spread out!) and the rest of my addons.

I agree if its your first time ever playing WoW. You don't wanna grind to 80, only being a month into the game doing raids and such. On your alts or whatever, do whatever lol. Only thing that upsets me with this "powerlevel" thing is that no one wants to do the lower level instances anymore. I'm forced to have some higher level run me through. :wall:

oh man, that would be AWESOME if dps actually did 1.8-2k dps regularly in heroics. More like.. "900-1.1k and [bleep] about the tank and or healer's gear instead"

Tk5SF.png

They only people I know who do 1800+2000 dps in heroics are people naxx geared who are running them. I'm usualy at the top of the list, and, depending on the instance, get between 1400 and 1600. And the latter is tough. I would have to AoE Volley and Explosive trap half the instance, and then it would still be tough without 4+ mobs. I'd say 1250 is a good starting number.

Did Sarth 25-man today, didn't get anything, though. D:

Sarth 10-man and Naxx 10-man tomorrow.

Gemmed and chanted up my gear, pretty sexy, 1600 +healz.

u should be aiming for at least 2.2k dps as hunter in blues and greens during heroic

If i put all i have to action i do 3.2k in a heroic with NO raid gear- only heroic gear

and 2.5 on my mage

----

1.1k dps at lvl 70 is shameful honestly - not trying to put u down but thats what my mage did in Pre TBC endgame

My rogue Pre TBC in raids would put out 1300-1400 DPS so I thought it was odd to see such a low number otherwise. Like I said I've been getting around 1.1k currently @ 72/73 and thats even without doing a ton of AoE.

Are you insane? (no pun intended)

I just checked recall from last night's heroic, and I was doing around 1500dps the last instance I ran, which was H VH.

I have yet to see a single person break 1800 dps in a heroic (mages using blizzard excluded). I don't know where you're getting your numbers, but 2.2k is not what you should be aiming for, because you will not achieve it. Your damage meters must be off. If you go on trade chat and ask what dps you should be aiming for in heroics, you'll get the same response. Between 1300 and 1600. I can not in a rightful state of mind accept that you can do 3.2k dps in a heroic instance with no raid gear.

After a bit of thinking I'm deciding on giving THIS BUILD 60/0/11 a try for arenas @ 80. My reasoning being that:

- It seems like a PoM AP Frostfire bolt crits higher than PoM AP Pyro. Was watching a mage crit video today with him using frostfire instead, along with Icy shards.

- Icy Veins is awesome. And coupled with the "removes snares on use" glyph it will be an invaluable tool for arenas along with my engineering I'll level up.

- Icy Veins + Engi haste gloves + Beserking = Mad fast Arcane Barrages due to a lowered GCD. What would be the soft cap on haste though?

- Frostbite procs if I need it from using Ice armor, although of course I think what team we're against will depend if I use ice armor of mage armor.

- With 3.0.8 I will be able to have 5% hit without any hit gear at all, which will be great for PvP. (Elemental Precision effects all spells in 3.0.8)

So yeah, that's my plan. I was thinking of doing a PvE friendly build for PvP as well, but [bleep] that. I found out my guild hasn't been raiding as good as they did in TBC so I probably won't even join them. If I do raid it'll be a PUG and I'll have no problem out DPSing bad players, especially with the arcane buffs. The main DPS tool I'm missing is Clearcasting (Arcane Concentration).

Again I really don't see how it's possible to do that @ 80. I mean, as I said before at 70 in T5 level gear I was pulling out 1200-1400 DPS raid buffed as a rogue. This was on bosses so it was very sustained, where as heroics are very much a burst fight. With the exception of a warlock most classes can burst DPS very well, better than sustained really, so they can get higher because fights just don't last long.

Also pretty much any class in the game has AoE. Blizzard, Volly, Tempest, Divine Storm, Seed of Corruption, Blade Flurry (lols), cleave/whirlwind, ect. There is no excuse not to AoE when the time is right.

So like I said, if people are only pulling 1300-1500 DPS in heroics than I'm going to have an easy time on my mage!
