I understand that you can get skill capes when one of your skills gets to lvl 99, but does it do anything special for you

You'll get a special emote that you can do whilst wearing it, specific to each cape. Also, when you do the emote, it boosts the level of the skill the cape is by 1. So if you had 99 cooking, and used the emote, you'd have 100 cooking! Pretty nifty, eh?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also, if you get it trimmed, it's comparable to a Fire Cape in stats almost.

Few minutes? It's permanent until you remove the cape. Think of the benefits: 100 atk,str,def,hp - 100 mining, fishing, woodcutting --> faster than 99.

Having one lvl increased does help in some cases. Skills like woodcutting, mining, fishing all have a advantage due to this as you could chop trees quicker, mine rocks easier and quicker and fish a bit quicker. It doesn't affect greatly though.

i think the crafting cape at 100 will also allow you to enter the crafting guild without the other necessary clothing but im not sure

There has been a report on someone burning a shark at lv 100 cooking so it's not really a benefit.

I seriously believe that there's no difference in 100/99 and 99/99. With 100 mining, i don't mine rocks any faster than at 99 :-s

Yes, it acts as a brown apron would.

100/99 Magic lets you hit 20's with Slayer Dart, very useful at Dag Kings and Barrows. :thumbsup:
