When do you think the next big weapon will be released?

Well its been now... like 2 or 2 and a 1/2 years since the whip has been released. If they do release something as good as a whip what do you think it will be? I doubt they will release a one handed weapon with better stats then whip, as people are already hitting 40+ in the wilderness. So what are your thoughts on what it could be/when it will be released.

I think they are going to release something very similar to Whip, in terms of stat bonuses and speed, but give it a Strength training option. At least I hope they do. :P

i totally agree but they have released weapons its just not as good or as popular as the whip i suppose.i hope they do realease a weapon as good with a strength training option.theirs a bit of a gap.

Drum, it will probably be another slayer drop :wink: I don't know why people always forget about magic and ranged weapons though #-o If a new melee weapon comes out they'll have to bring those some time after. We don't need new weapons for a while yet, just bring the point boosting armour \

i think they are ganna finish the beresker armor set before they move on to a stronger weapon, such as a strengh bonus for legs armor or something. a new stronger weapon i dont think will be reasled for a good while though

making something new for over all combat is hard. the whip is mostly a pking wep, so they brough out ancients to counter it and crossbows to counter ancients

Guthix forbid Jagex giving us a decent update. Especially with high levels. Jagex maybe in awhile give us a decent weapon, but for the time being there trying to make updates for the lower levels, as to rake in more cash. Greedy beeps.

In all honesty every area of the triangle needs a new weapon. Now it can't be something too powerful(seeing as there is massive damage done already), but something around or a bit high bonuses wouldn't hurt someone.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And about the whips crashing, it is inevitable. At least 1 whip enters the economy per day, while there may or may not be someone who just reached 70 attack and has 1.7m. A year from now whips will most likely be around 500-800k.

its probably gonna be more dragon stuff like the claws, pick, and maybe something new but i doubt they'll make new range or mage weapons almost no point in each since it doesn't matter what ur range and mage bonus are the spell or arrow will never hit harder

The whip was made for pking, same with ancients, and the crossbow, well ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ how often do you see a xbow in wildy? Me personally, never. No one is going to waste a dragonstone on 10 bolts that will break soon after. People only used them to see how effective they were when they originally came out, and found the special attack occurred about 1 in 20 shots, so you would have to spend 100k to get 1 special attack per fight (assuming you even got one special attack off during the fight). Xbows are so slow, your chances of getting 20 shots off in a fight are slim indeed.

 

 

 

The whip and ancients makes for happy melee and mages. Jagex got this right imo.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The dds makes for very happy pures who do one easy quest to get their hands on 4 specs. A ranger at the moment who gets a crystal bow is unlikely to pk deep with it, as you canÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t go back to get it if you are at gds and die. It required very hard quests to get, yet isnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t cut out to be a pking weapon. Surely a level 70 weapon should outperform a level 60 weapon? Apparently not. Jagex have not got this right imo.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The next weapon should be a pking ranger weapon, OR reduce the number of specs the dds has, similar to when they took away the msb double spec. They could always bring back the double msb spec, but I doubt they will. The new weapon should be tradeable, useable by pures and grunty enough to KO opponants with skill. If the special attackes of the crossbows were controllable, this would make them a very usefull pking weapon ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ but I doubt we will see this happen in the near future either.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sorta a rant I know, but meh ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ just had to put my 2p in. the new weapon ideas seem always to focus on melee, which to me would simply make them even more overpowered than they already are. If a new melee weapon came out that required Heros (or Legends) to be completed ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ that would be fine as this would keep them out of pures hands. Also make them untradeable (as the crystal bow is) ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ then see the whiny melee pures come out of the woodwork ;)

Imo weapons are getting too strong for the food we have. If a new weapon came out stronger than whip, it would ruin the wilderness.

I don't get why we need new weapons. The dragon Scimitar is fine with strength training. Don't like it? Train at pc with whip. Or train with controlled. Gah.

An Ub3r bow, that you need 80 range to wield, and has 4 specials, like dds, and a 90+ range bonus.

If they do make a good strength weapon, I hope it's slower than a whip. Maybe a whip's strength bonus, but about as fast as a longsword? I mean, strength training with the whip's bonus would be way too powerful.
