March 7, 200719 yr I was more surprised that some of the kids couldnt recognize some of the presidents more than that they couldnt recognize Jesus. If you dont go to Church or grow up in a Christian house hold as a kid then you may not know what Jesus looks like. Only went to church 2 times in my life, don't believe in god. Yet I know who Jesus is don't I ?! As for presidents, that's exactly my point. And how old are you? If I remember right ( I haven't seen the movie recently) the kids on the movie were pretty young. I'm sure they know who Jesus is but maybe have not seen a picture of him. It just doesn't surprise me.

As for the movie, I reckon they were in grade 2-3. They were showing those kids some pictures of Lincoln, Bush, Ronald McDonald, Wendy, Jesus, etc. The guy who was showing the pictures actually got upset none of the kids recognized Jesus (as of my opinion).
March 7, 200719 yr India, really terrible to live in this country too many people, and bad food, i dont know how to say this I just like it!
March 7, 200719 yr Speaking as a Christian, there is no reference to what Christ looked like. For all we know, he could be black. Only close-minded racist attitudes could just ASSUME that Christ is white with brown hair. I actually would flip out and be happy if Christ was black :P. What's even funnier is that he is Arab regardless. The picture you are looking was a mosaic created in 6th century. What's now? 21st century? And the witty assumptions that jesus was black were made in 20th century if not in 21st if I'm not wrong. Funny eh? Edit: Please show me a single picture that is at least 500 years old where Jesus is pictured black. 6th century, eh? So the painter was what. 500 years old? There is no recorded image of Christ within his lifetime. Or the lifetime of the disciples. It's fair to say that no artist has a correct vision of what he really looked like. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Believe me, nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won. -Sir Arthur Wellesley

He is recognizable, that look of him has been accepted for hundreds and hundreds of years and now in the 21st century, 2007 years since he was born comes Barihawk and says that's not how he looked, that he might have been black and that anyone who thinks he looked like in that picture is a close minded racist (whatever racism has to do with it, but it gets used too much now so oh well) blindly ignoring hundreds of hand drawings from different authors that have the same characteristics, that's too much of a "coincidence" to say there are no versions close to the correct one. Look at ALL the pictures, Jesus as a baby, Jesus getting killed, just Jesus, pictures in the Bible, pictures in museums. None show Jesus black. Just face it. I have hundreds of ancient pictures to prove my point. You have none except for the ones that were done maxumum 20 years ago.

March 7, 200719 yr off topic anyone? it is slightly strange though that none of the kids could recognise him in the pictures
March 7, 200719 yr off topic anyone? it is slightly strange though that none of the kids could recognise him in the pictures None of the kids that they actually put in the film... you don't know what they cut out. People always seem to forget that what is given to you on film, tv, is always manipulated to be able to construct a story. I'm not saying that that is bad in se, I'd rather not watch a documentary on e.g. lions and have to struggle through the hours tape when the crew was looking for one without success, but it is a given with the media. But yes, very off-topic :)

I have hundreds of ancient pictures to prove my point. You have none except for the ones that were done maxumum 20 years ago. You are not getting my point, and you obviously didn't get the joke. Christ died 2000 years ago. They didn't have cameras back then. All the people making those mosaics? They are assuming that Christ looks just like them. Heck, if you are going to subvert millions into accepting your views (like the medieval Catholic Church), make Christ look like you! Just because hundreds of people who never ever saw Christ draw a picture of him as a white male with long brown hair and a beard does NOT make him that way. The Bible never describes what exactly he looks like. It does not say he had brown hair, even! Considering the demographics of Israel (even Nazareth) that we have from back then (Guess what! There was a census right before his birth!), we could make many assumptions about his background. He could have been of Greek ancestry living in Judeah, could have been Arab (more than likely), a black man who's family came from Ethiopia or one of the other great African powers of the time, or even Chinese. The fact is, we simply do not know what Christ looks like. Unless you can go grab a time machine and a digital camera, go back to AD33 and snap a photo of him, there is no correct interpretation of Christ's image. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. My fianc̮̩̉̉e's family had one in their last house where he was downright aryan. Doll-white skin with rosy cheeks. [Edit] Stupid censor. It censors the word aryan to 'hack-scam site' even when it isn't part of a URL...
March 7, 200719 yr Any middle-eastern/arabic country. I'm sorry, but I couldn't deal with bartering for everything on a daily basis. The business methods are too aggressive for me. Well that wasn't stereotype out the butt.
March 9, 200719 yr United States, too many big buildings and people. Europe, too expensive and cold Asia, too many big buildings and people Sydney, trust me, you don't want to live there Africa, too hot, most governments are corrupt. Hmmm... I don't seem to like anywhere... I like bees
March 9, 200719 yr All of Africa - Disease, Civil War, and hardly any modern luxuries. Thats an ever so slightly stereotypical desciption of Africa. Not all of Africa is like Sudan is at the moment. Agreed. There are many nice places to live in Africa. South Africa, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, etc. I have to disagree with you. South Africa I've heard is nice, but Egypt? I have seen pictures of Cairo, and they are not pretty.Egypt is quite dangerous. South Africa ia amazing, I can't find a reason to live there, everyone is respected and it is a great place.
March 9, 200719 yr I was reading earlier today and the one place I would least like to live (in fact I would give anything not to live there) is North Korea. The human rights records are abysmal. When visitors to the country have to stay with a government appointed guide and go only where they go you know the government has a huge amount to hide.
March 24, 200719 yr Canada - Too cold. You've obviously never been to Canada And the US isnt run by big macs and fat people. I have never eaten a big mac in my life and seeing a huge fat woman is very rare, and funny  I've lived in the USA all my life, and never eaten a Big Mac. It can be done! (But have you ever had a Jack Daniel's Burger at TGI Friday's? Now that, that is goooood. But I substatute the fries with a salad, and the burger with a turkey burger.) Middle East- All the war. The Moon- Lack of air.
March 25, 200719 yr I would never live in India because..... Of all the Pollution it is a pretty crime free place though
March 26, 200719 yr New York City- The gum, the roads and the people(too crowded and mostly rude, ever hear of excuse me?)
March 26, 200719 yr New York City- The gum, the roads and the people(too crowded and mostly rude, ever hear of excuse me?) That's the exact reason I want to live there. Everyone is just so ignorant and ah, love it. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference.
March 26, 200719 yr New York City- The gum, the roads and the people(too crowded and mostly rude, ever hear of excuse me?) Ehh a plus is that you don't have to worry about littering yourself. Also most people aren't rude. And the roads, most people don't have cars.
March 26, 200719 yr Iraq - it's pretty obvious. I think northern Iraq is safe though, southern is full of shooting and war. "I am free of all prejudices. I hate every one equally." -W. C. Fields
