Jaziek
http://blogs4brownback.wordpress.com/2007/...ourages-murder/ reading this made my blood boil. How can somebody this narrow minded and stupid be allowed a position of even minor authority? It is so mind numbingly offensive to a single group of people its unbelievable. Kiriyama
Wow stop a show because a girl murdered her father with an axe. Japan are a bit more soft on what they show than in America http://pkmn.net/?action=section&page=45. That link shows banned episodes of Pokemon. Though some Japanese anime is quite demonic, who doesn't want to watch some stuff like that (or play games like Shin Megami Tensei). I bet he was a damn hardcore Christian, calling other religions "primative". Nothing more to add. And this comment on it sums it all up for me. [hide=Long Quote]Excuse me if i am going to be blunt, but i doubt my ability to stay calm after reading a long, misinforming rant, presenting statements that looks like borderline pulled out from somewhere where the sun doesn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t shine and brought across as actual facts, while in truth they are anything but. Your view on anime and people watching it (otaku) is a vast stereotype, and the basis for this stereotype has no roots in reality. All of anime contain hentai(18+ material) ? Sorry to shatter your wall of illusion, but that is so far from truth it is not even funny. I know where you got your ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢summary̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ for Higurashi, and much like you, the person who wrote that has no knowledge about the title either. This is absurdly obvious the second a statement like the anime being about a girl named Rena who is going hack & slash on people is being made. Yes, the story has a character named Rena, but if you would actually bother to learn about the story, you would find out it has a large group of protagonists and she just happens to be one of them. The story is far from being about killing her enemies - this statement is absurd. It is about solving the mystery behind the murders, figuring out a time paradox and about frienship!! The show actually condemns violence, and the message it brings across is clearly that violence is not the way to go about solving your problems, as it only brings forth more misery and suffering. Not like you would know anything about that though. Second thing i find boggling is your religion references - i find them intelligently insulting. Personally, i am an European, 100% atheist, so have zero reasons to take sides in this. I will tell you this - you fail at debating the second you claim your opinion to be better with a reason ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâjust because̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢. I find your statement about other religions being primitive and Christianity somehow being better laughable at best. Then again this is far from being a first time seeing comments such as these, and most of the time it is people like yourself making them. This just serves to prove the point you are heavily biased in your judgment regardless of actual facts. You are also making claims like being an otaku is equivalent of being a murderer, rapist and what not. In this case i will point you towards history and Christianity, and remind you how many atrocities (Crusades being the prime example) and murder have been committed in the name of religion. (Though somehow i wouldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t be surprises if you would find those justified). Lastly, anyone who thinks anime, or any sort of media is the cause for violence should do a reality check. People are prone to violent acts because of their real life issues and circumstances, not from watching animated pixels on screen. Movies don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t make ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâpsychos̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ - society does. Sorry for being offensive, but i don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t think such a blunt pile of lies deserves much more. I really suggest you do some non-selective research and apply some unbiased judgment while processing it before getting on a high horse. Doing otherwise simply makes you look silly in the eyes of people who know otherwise. Reading this article it was painfully obvious you have little to no idea what you are talking about.[/hide] Denizen of Darkness| PSN= sworddude198
Bubsa
Jaz, don't take this the wrong way or anything, but if we all went 'round getting offended by blogs, we'd be under siege. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
Ginger_Warrior
Often these are shown late at night to keep them away from children, but even the cartoons shown to children are violent, sexual in nature and make numerous references to magic and demons with no mention of G-d or Jesus. This statement is just moronic. Yes, of course Japan has a different set of beliefs than the Western World. Why on Earth would they make any reference to God or to Jesus? As said by Sworddude, I have a feeling this person is of some monotheist religion and has ulterior motives in playing down Buddhism and Shintoism. The quote in the above post also sums this up completely from me. I had little respect for this author the moment he called Buddhism "primative", especially in regards to what's happened in Burma the past couple of weeks. TBH, I've seen more realistic claims by the BNP, and that really is saying something. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |

underu2000
If I had a buck every time somebody posted up something on religious fanaticism or otherwise some kind of extreme event or way of thinking, I would be able to afford a full tank of gas. Really, forget about him. There are worse things in the world. Life is a joke. Yeah, I don't get it either.
pfilc23
The Perry Farrell bit is hilarious! "He is a demon in human guise, and must be cast into the fiery chasm of Hell with all his works." That's followed by an urging to nuke Iran, then an article about how all women are [bleep], excuse me "harlots". A phrase I saw repeatedly on the site is "leftards"...yeah, real godly there, buddy. I think he'll be seeing Perry down there. :)
Wisp
they basically said that religions other the christianity are pagan religions. I'm an atheist, but that still just seems wrong. Again, it's a blog, and it's a conservatie blog. It's probably just some moron trying to push his beliefs on others... Hegemony-Spain

Nazgul740
Well, got to remember... Just as all Muslims aren't strapping bombs to themselves and suiciding, its just a radical fringe group... The same is true for Christians to a lesser extent, there is a large majority of well minded conservative (the good kind ;)) and there are the fringe elements who make idiotic statements and who try and force people into Christianity. I hate that, Christianity is a religion at its very basic core of tolerance and love, that people distort that and force it on people is just wrong. So it is pretty simple to conclude stuff like that makes me mad as all get out... JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS, OMG DON'T THINK JUST JUMP! QUICK IT MIGHT GET AWAY, JUMP, JUMP! Jaziek
And the fact that its a parody is any reason to be less offended? Yes it is pretty obviously a troll if you take a good look, but its the fact that a person with these views can, and very probably does exist that worries me. The Jack Thompson and crew of anime. How2PK
They should put all the anime fans on an island and burn it. The world would smell a whole lot better. :-k I've got this guy that comes to visit me at the shop every week. And out of the blue he just starts talking about all kind of anime series. There's no stopping him, he's just on your counter for nearly two hours raving about some kind of obscure Japanese cartoon, and then he leaves. Strange folk. Frankly, you shouldn't waste your time I dont easily get offended, but this made me pissed the first time i read it. very pissed. Now reading it again I can appreciate the satire, and it is rather well done. I can see that my post yesterday was incredibly stroppy and evidently my internet sense was not at it's highest.
