Deles
When I first heard of the Grand Exchange I had very high expectations. I was really happy when it finally came, but now when I've tried it, I didn't like it anymore. Sure it's a great thing when you need some questitems, or maybe when you need materials, but its really overpriced. Ranarrs for over 7k ea as lowest price? They say that the lowest prices are like 5% over normal street price. I use to merchant to get money, but now it's partly ruined. Merching is simple, buy cheap, sell expensive. the easiest things to merch is materials that everyone needs like logs, ores etc. If you used to sell Coal for like 180ea, and then a merchant buys it and sell for 200 gp, both parts is happy, because the mines just wants to get rid of the coals. But now, when the miner just can put them att GE and set minimunprice at like 203 gp or something ( not sure) , people will buy it form there. Therefore, what can we merchers do? Well I also use to buy cheap stuff in generalstore, herbs, seeds, ores, food, gems, arrows etc. Before the update, you could buy alot of seeds at a very cheap price, and when someone sold in larger ammounts, you could get iron arrows for 1gp ea, and all herbs were like 5 gp each. The same with runes and food, cheaper than normal street prices. I bought like 600 tunas before the update at 30 ea in a generalstore, which was a good deal. Today I saw 400 Tunas sold to generalstore, but ow the price was 108 gp each. The same goes with hardleatherbodys, bows(u) even with over 20k stocks in general, the prices have changed from 51 ea hardleatherbody to like 150 ea, and the (u) bows costs like 280ea. I thought that they maybe had updated the selling prices to the stores aswell, so I bought a hardleatherbody for 150gp, but the value was still 17 gp. Saw someone at this forum who showed a picture of store buying Chefs Delight for 0gp, but the sell it for 14750gp. Thats mad, and a tomatoseed value is still 0 gp, but shop then sells for 175 gp. They used to sell for 1gp ea, calculate the mad crazy raise of prices from 1 gp -> 175gp ea. Mad I tell ya. Anyway, I want them to change generalstore prices back to normal, and I have an id̮̩̉̉a of a better, more profitable system for everyone at Grand Exchange: The New Grand Exchange To explain it in an easy way, here's an example. I want to sell a Rune Kite for 50k. So, just like now, I offer my runekite, and put in that i want 50k for it. Another person wants to sell it for 45k, so he puts that in. a third person wants to sell it for only 30k, so he put that in aswell. Note that the change here is that i can put any price Then someone needs a runekite and just like before, press buy and then searches for lets say "rune k" then the ordinary list comes up and displays "rune kite " and "rune knife". He presses rune kite, and then he can write in any buying price. BUT heres the big change. He can either offer a price that he wants to buy it for, lets say 50k. OR he can instead of that, check the list of the Rune Kites beeing sold right now. So he gets a list were he can look at all the sellers offers.( The example offersfrom above) Rune Kite 30k [bUY] Rune Kite 45k [bUY] Rune Kite 50k [bUY] Then he simply press [bUY] on the price he is willing to pay. Here he could buy a rune kite for only 30k, so here he just not only saved time, he saved 20k aswell. The same goes with offering a buying price, The seller can check a list of buyers offer, with offers from the buyers; Like this Rune Kite 25k [sELL] Rune Kite 35k [sELL] Rune Kite 50k [sELL] And then the seller can simply press SELL to sell the kite. To add to this, you could sort the prices by the most expensive/less expensive, otherwise a ton of people might say that they buy rune kites at 1k ea, so we get a mixed list of lots of ridicolus offers, but if you can sort them, a seller can sort by highest buyingprice, and a buyer can sort from lowest selling price. Therefore, the ridicolus offers can easily be sorted away. ------------- To improove this and make this New Grand Exchange more fair, we need to add another thing explained here: If me and another person wants to sell a rune kite for 50k, we will not see the list full of 50k offers, instead we will see it like this: Rune Kite 48k - (Quantity 14) [bUY] [bUY X] Rune Kite 50k - (Quantity 42) [bUY] [bUY X] Etc. So if I put my kite for 50k at 14:03, and another person at 14:04, I will sell my kite first, so you easy and fast can sell your stuff. And of coruse, it will be the same for the buyers who posts offers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here I'd like to add some more about GE and the new updates. I really HATE GE now, I hate it, and I hate that they gonna have some wierd 3k max value rule and I HATE BH and.. Well you can say that I actually HATE Jagex for these updates, and I don't really feel like playing RS anymore. To begin with when GE came, the prices on ranarr were like mentioned above, over 7k ea. Today it's down to like 5.5k, and still decreasing in price. Coal were 203 ea , but now its down to 150gp! Just before GE came I finished royal trouble quest so I could have Manage Thy Kingdom. I was happy because I would earn lots of money because of this. I had at that time like 1,5 mil , and put 1 mil in coffers and put 10 workers on coal and 5 on maple. Then some days after GE came and I didn't like it, but I didn't hate it. I wrote this post and my suggenstion to a better GE. Some days ago I had 5k coal from MKT, and around 4-500k left. So I got 5k coal + like 3k maples and some seeds for 500k. I went to GE to sell them. But the price were as low as 150gp ea. I tried to sell the coal in free worlds for 190-200 ea, but people , who offered only 700k to my 500k actually said "lol" to my prices! If i'd sold them like 2 weeks ago, before GE I would easily have sold them for almost 1mil. --- I remeber some years ago, I just kept getting richer, and I was amazed that I actually managed to get over 100k in money (I was F2P then). I just kept getting richer, and soon I reached 1mil! It seemed that everyone at RS got richer everyday, but now after GE I just get poorer for everyday. I have like 400k now, and it's impossible to sell stuff at a profitable price. Well I do have 300k left in coffers, and now maybe 6k coal, but it won't give me much more than I had before. ---- I also want to say a few things about this FU**ING RS vs RealWorldTraders. This will be affected by the update (and already have) Merchants - It's no point in earning 3k / trade. Goodbye Droppartys - Except Buckets and pots droppartys :( You can't get anything useful from people who is cleaning their bank from "junk" and drop it on the floor, because you can't see drops over 3k What about clans and friends? They said, that you cant trade over 3k worth + / - so they'll be "NICE" and wait to like january so you can "give christmas presents" and "pay back loans" What if a friend needs 50k to for a quest, or we gonna go pk, (oh right, you can't unless you wanna get owned) go hunt some monster* and borrow some armour? No you cant. And what if a clanmember need some armour? Or share drops? (Well yea I remembered LootShare) Wilderness is destroyed. I tried BH one time, only had dhide and bone bow, my god it sucked, I had to kill a lvl 93, who were running around in a clan. They totally owned me. So whats the point of PKing now? lvl 55-100 ? wtf, a lvl 60 wont be able to do any pking because theres running around lvl 90+ clans killing everyone. And the most stupidest thing, what will the pures do? The only way to be a sucessful pure is to be lvl 55 or 100. But im sure you'll get owned anyway because its multicombat and you'll get owned whitin seconds anyway. All this JUST because Jagex want to get rid of RealWorldTraders. I just wondering, no drops will be shown for me if its more than 3k value. So what if I kill a dragon in full rune, but I die. Will the others be able to see my rune helm and weapon and other stuff with +3k value? Because if you can, then you can fairly easily trade in that way. And in BH, they say, you don't gonna need, lets say this bucket. Well okay then you can't realworldtrade it, but you can still RWT the dragonfull, godsworlds 3rd age stuff etc. Mayby keeping BH in some worlds , but completely remove wildy? This is like my only whish to runescape. PLEASE let these updates be like "Fatigue" a VERY bad idea, that'll disappear ASAP. --------------------------------------------- Well I think thats all I had to say, feel free to post other ideas to improove the idea. I might have some spelling misstakes and some price errors, so if you see any, contact me so I can fix them. Hope you liked my idea :D
folmer_veeman
i agree with this, except for that merchanters SUCK and that they should burn in hell, (and the idea sucked  )
acenator
The only problem with this is that letting people search offers on the exchange woud probably create a lot of lag on the server that holds all of the data (I'm pretty sure they use a different server for it since it trades even beteween different worlds) due to the large amount of people that would be browsing it (remember, even computers have limitations). There might be a way to make this work, but, as of right now, I don't see any possible way of making this happen. Even if they could make this happen, it wouldn't make much of a difference since it automatically buys items for you when they are less than or equal to what you're offering for said item(for example, if I put a rune kite up for 45k and you put up an offer to buy a rune kite for 50k, then, if you're "chosen" as the buyer (not sure how this works), you'll get it for 45k and save 5k). The only way it could make a difference would be if you were willing to go a bit higher than what you put up (to see if you could save some money or something) in which case, you would be left waiting until you got matched with a seller offering a price the same as or lower than yours. Othere than what I've written above, this is a good idea that I've seen in several other places and wouldn't mind seeing implemented in the future. > SELECT * FROM users WHERE clue > 0;0 rows returnedThere's no place like 127.0.0.1There are only 10 types of peoplein this world: those who understandbinary and those who don't.This statement is false.$DO || ! $DO ; trytry: command not found
the_god_of_soup
Sorry, but...Fail The main idea of the recent updates(Duel Arena update, The Grand Exchange)were to rid us of some of the most popular methods of Real-World Trading. If this happened, people could still RWT a blue partyhat at the General Store for 1gp. Although a good idea for fair players, it ruins the idea of the Exchange itself. The spelling and grammar of that email was that of an 11 year old palestinian goatboy who is speaking english for the first timeQuite simply, Facebook craps on Myspace. Then makes it eat the crap. Zaaps1
The problem is, now you have extra storage space. It may not be a lot, but it still is space. Say your bank is full. No problem, just "offer to sell" those willows you plan to burn at 1 million gp each. No one will buy, and you saved yourself some room in the bank. I think Jagex wants to control the prices to end the rare dilemma for them. Personally, I trust thier judgement. If they think GE is better for us all, I'd have to say I would think so too. They spent many weeks planning this update, do you really think they never considered that merchanting would be "ruined"? ~It's Super Effective! Yea, youre right when you say that people can save bankspace by offer 1 milion gp each willow, but lets say that you have limited spaces to sell/buy, like now, so you only can have max 10 offers or something. Maybe merching isn't ruined by GE, but it certainly got partly ruined when they raised generalstore prices. Now you can't make money from buying cheap stuff in generalstore. That's true, that's how I used to make money on my pures. Air running isn't so great anymore either after Ourania Altar. But if merchant was truely ruined, would world 2 still be full? Sure it'll be harder, and I feel your pain, but it is still possible. Just wait, before long there will be a great way to make cash with the GE. (Story time! My friend bought Gilded Legs cheaply on GE, then sold them for 800k w2. Try something like that.) ~It's Super Effective! As merchanting like buying 1k iron ore 80ea selling 85ea isnt a good idea (kinda risky), we merchants have had to find other means of making money lol, but anway so as not to steal this post anymore then nessassary, PM me if u wish to reply and we can have a discussion. magicmagicy
Who thinks merchanting doesn't take work? I don't Who thinks skilling takes work? I don't When you skill, all you do is click, anyone with an IQ of 10 can do that, but to merchant you need a brain. You need to know some basic economics. You need to constantly follow the market as well as other things. You gotta do the math, you gotta keep track of your wares. Merchanting doesn't take work? TeamBloody
Personally I dont think Jagex will take this because somehow they want to control the runescape economy. eg. Coal is well known as 200 ea b4 the grand exchange. But now in the grand exchange, we see that the market price of coal is only 150-155, why?? Because that is definitely not the market price but just the price that Jagex wants to set. We all know your idea is much better than the recent one but Jagex will just have no place to hide so they wont take it. Fools!!
