Ah. Last year I got these thoughts a lot (I was 12 then also)

I found to get them mostly at night, and when I got them, I went downstairs where my parents were, and talking to them usually helped.

I also would never think of them for days if I had been doing something I loved during the day, and I was thinking about it.

Just do things you love, and think about them all the time :)

I'm 19 and I still get like that occasionally. I don't know what it is, it might be mild depression (or in your case probably (pre)teen angst. I wish I could give you advice to get over it but if I was able to then I wouldn't get in the same state myself. All I can say is that the feeling will pass in a few days, just try to find something to occupy your mind.

My theory about death is that we are all part of the universe as energy, and that when we are born, a part of that energy slips into our newborn baby's body. So when we die, our energy returns into the universe, and become part of the universe, as only one distinct being. I also believe that we choose what path we will live in life before we are born. And that we live many lives, and that each one of them brings knowledge, and power to our spirit. Personally, I believe I chose a life of suffering, in order to gain knowledge, because it is through hardships that one will gain wisedom and intelligence, but no one will learn anything leading an easy and painless life.

You could look up near-death experience on google. Near-death experiences, no matter what sceptics may say, is our only piece of information of what happens after death. All near-death experiences happen almost the same for every person of every culture around the world, which discards the sceptics arguments about it being an illusion of the mind or whatever. It's worth looking into.

Heaven and hell do not exist, they are a catholic invention for keeping people behaved. As for beliefs that nothing happens after death, we don't need to worry about it, if we do not exist anymore after death, then we won't be there to worry about it.

Ummm, im 13 and i use to get those thoguhts alot when i was 12. However, when i layed in my bed at night during those times, i found them the best tiem top truly find what i believe. People may say get your mind off it, but if you do thta, itll just keep coming back. So when you get those tiems at night, just lay there, and find within yourself what you truly beleieve, it may be whatever religion you are a part of, or it may be soemnthgin else. If your an aetheist family, its even easier to find it becauser you don't have any pre-set propoganda set into your mind about what it should be. But whenever you find it, just accept it, because no one knows what it really is, your geuss is as good as ours. I agree with highlander that there isn't a heaven or hell but just catholic mind control, I also think thta you won't really find what HE personally beleives to be much consolice for you, unless yuo actually beleive thta. I geuss what im tryign to say is, close your ears from whatever other peopel are sayign about death, and figure out what you truly beleieve what it will be. Because if you just adopt someone else's beliefs, then youll never be completely sure abotu it.

OK I'm a little wiereded out now, I was going to make a topic on this EXACT same thing right now until I saw this made. I'm kind of getting scared of this kind of thing too... I don't know how to get my mind off it either.

What the hell is wrong with you kids?

I can't think of anyone I know who was like this when 12. You've got your whole smegging life ahead of you. Go out and enjoy it. You're about to go through the best part of growing up, you'll be changing or are in a new school, you shouldn't have time to worry about crap like this.

Death is a part of life, everyone does it. That's pretty much the only thing the world can agree one. Don't worry about what happens after you die, or why or where we go, no-one knows for sure. Hurry up and live for what you have today, especially if you're one of the few in this world with a real chance of having a good life, with countless opportunities before you.

I was expecting someone to say that exact same thing eventually...

The only things that will certainly happen in this world are death..............and taxes.

Its easier to say "death is just a part of life" when you're not the one suffering from the fear of it. Is death something to fear? Its not mandatory to fear it. but it is legitimate to be scared of dying or someone you know dying. don't lose too much sleep over it. we all have to go through it, so you're not alone. Just think about the fact that you're still alive and probably so are your loved ones (very sorry if they arent, just trying to make a point here). there are some people who are dying slow and painful deaths, and those who struggle with the deaths of many loved ones. Take edgar allen poe for instance. his parents died, his 13 year old cousin who he married died. in the end, he died in agony, alone and sad, and his last words were literally "I wish to god someone would blow my damned brains out!"

Sorry, not tryin to scare ya. my point is: you have a lucky, happy life. don't waste any moments of it considering negative things. One minute of sadness is a whole 60 seconds of pure joy you will never get to experience. So turn that frown upside down, and enjoy life as it comes.

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

*loads gun* give ya 5 seconds to take that back.

jk....i guess...... but anyway, what does that have to do with anything? somehow a new stereotype has arisin that states americans are the death fearers of the world? quite the contrary, some of our politicians really don't care who dies as long as its not them.

ehehehe.... care to elaborate what you mean?

This sounds like it could be a classic case of anxiety. My really close friend suffered from this for a while; she was unable to do things like cross streets because it would just make her so nervous about dying. She recently went on medication for it after seeing a psychiatrist, and has gotten much better lately :D

Everybody hug and spread the love :D

The death is a gift from the heavens. Our lives are ruled continuesly by the destiny, it's not a coincidence or something trivial that you're bothered by the death, but you must learn about how amazing and wonderful the whole life is!

Millions of people die to keep the balnce of the cosmos, just imagine what would happen if everybody were inmortal... Not only the human race would consume every resource until falling in the poverty, but their bodies would be so weak because the long years that they have lived.

Our death will come only when we have done our porpouse.

You might ask, so why all people die in accidents and tragedy? Why innocent people die by criminal's hands? Why many tragedies occurs everyday?

It's only part of this great web of greatness. The destiny of the assasins was to put an end to the innocent, not from disease, but a criminal.. Why? Not many know that, maybe to keep the spirit of the justice-seeker alive that we the mortals naturally have. It's just it, the fate. And when your death comes you'll be ready. And when you cross that portal, you'll discover what the humanity simple have ignored for sooo many years, that the death might be even better than the life! And that it's just another part of the live, like born. Because our imperfect bodies will keep in this infernal and terrenal world, but our perfect souls will get the greatness of the celestial powers!

Not if my elaborate scheme goes thorugh, hehe. My goal in life is to purchase a small, micronesian island, and reestablish it as an independeent county, with all power plaaced in the hands of a mute native. Then, while he retains power, I purchase a 'house' in America, and establish it as an embassy, making me exempt.

Anyway, just live life to the best you can, I have, once or twice, kept myself up thinking about that, but, that unknown after death is what keeps us tethered to this world, and the unknown after death is what we fear, not death itself. Same thing with darkness, people don't fear the dark, they fear the unknown and the helplessness they have. You can't rid the world of darkness. All the same, death cannot be rid of. You will have to accept it, and it can't be all that bad. Think of it this way. You are given life on a loan, and then, when your term is up, it is taken away, only to be shared with someone else. Just relex and work with what you have to make the best of things.

I think its time for you to enjoy life, find a girlfriend, make some great friends and a hobby while your at it.

You shouldn't have to be worrying about dying at twelve. Unless your some physic foreshadowing your own death or something. :-k Anyway, go do something with your life instead of worrying about something like this.

Actually, the reason I asked was precisely because of what you just said. I just watched a documentary called "Bowling for Columbine" in class (if anyone's heard of it), and it speaks of how much fear has taken over America. The video shows that it isn't the access of guns, but the fear (especially in the media) that Americans have that leads us to have such a high gun-death rate. Heck, in the news a day or two ago some guy shot and killed his daughter as she tried to go through a basement window to get into the house (because all the other doors were locked). It's not gun control that's the problem; Canada has loads and loads of guns (7mil with 10mil families), but a gun-death rate per year in like the 30s.

You can die at any moment in time, in almost anyway, and in every place. So don't worry. I've given up on worrying about death.

That may be why I've taken on rather dangerous tasks, like playing with fire, or wanting to be a window washer of skyscrapers.
