Necromagus
http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/benoitdead A great entertainer and a great human being found dead, along with his wife and son. He left a house show on friday and missed last sunday's PPV due to 'family business'. Although nobody was sure what exactly was going on, pretty much everybody thought it was due to the passing of longtime friend and former tag team partner Beef Wellington. I honestly don't know what to think about this. Professional wrestling has always been a guilty pleasure for me. Chris Benoit was a true athlete and one of the most highly skilled entertainers in the business. Although he did come between WCW booker Kevin Sullivan and his wife, he seemed like a good person, one of the few in 'the business' that didn't get caught up in the usual follies of superstardom. To think that he somehow took active part in this tragedy seems almost impossible. I think this is the first showbiz death in a long time that's actually affecting me... speedofsound
He was one of the best entertainers I've ever seen. It may be acting, but he was a darn good actor! This truyl is a tragedy. R.I.P. Chris Benoit You can't ever find a place that's nice and peaceful, because there isn't any. You may think there is, but once you get there, when you're not looking, somebody'll sneak up and write "(bleep) you" right under your nose. Try it sometime. I think, even, if I ever die, and they stick me in a cemetery, and I have a tombstone and all, it'll say "Holden Caulfield" on it, and then what year I was born and what year I died, and then right under that it'll say "(bleep) you." Chocobodude0
:( I never avidly watched wrestling, but a life is a life either way. I'm sure he'll be missed.
Bubsa
Jesus wept, that's shocking :( He did good as a face and a heel, mainly because he had a great attitude. Truly, truly shocking. 00 Quanta
omg...gotta be kidding me...though I don't care if Vince is dead or not, but Chris Benoit was probably among one of the best....
1_man_army
...though I don't care if Vince is dead or not .... You do realise that the guy is playing a character on tv and that he isn't really like that don't you? RayOxide
Dead...? This was a definate homicide, why would his whole family (W.e) be dead, and him too, along with his chance to become ECW Champ (He was going to win, but Nitro is now) This is [cabbage]. I am pissed off big time! First Eddie Guerrero, now Chris Benoit, who next? Triple H? Shawn Michaels? Chris Benoit, RIP, He'll be entertaining God in heaven  I dont need a siggy no moar. RpgGamer
I can't help but think its yet another wrestling publicity stunt death. How many times has the Undertaker died now? last time i checked he was on his 3rd life. An then they have that "buried alive" bs with that one guy. I think they make the wrestlers "die" so they can get out of being on wrestling, like on a TV show. if they need to stir up the storyline; what do they do? they kill of a B list character. Sorry if that seems mean, but thats why i stopped watching wrestling...too much bs Quote Quote Anyone who likes tacos is incapable of logic. Anyone who likes logic is incapable of tacos. Vince's character has been the only on-screen death that has been meant for attention from what I can recall.
Pkmastachaos
Damnit! Why is it always the best people in life! He was by far my favorite wrestler, he represented Canada, and best of all the province I'm from, Alberta. He was without a doubt a shining start in the WWE and truly one of the best wrestlers ever. He left for personal reasons they said which is why he couldn't compete, what the hell happened between that time yesterday and today? [bleep] why did it have to be Guerrero and now Benoit? R.I.P Benoit you'll be missed, you and both your family.

spikerkid
When my brother called me early today and said that he died that just made me so upset. He was one of my favourite wrestlers and one of the most respected. I loved his work and how he always tried his best. I'm glad that I got to touch his hand when he came to my city (last month). He will truely be missed by many. He was a great man and so was his family and they didn't deserve this. ~RIP Chris Benoit~ You will be remembered Quit RuneScape :)

But.. He had so much to live for. Why would they just go and do something like that? He was known around the world, did that finally get to him? I still don't believe this 'double suicide' why would all three of them just go and kill themselves? I won't believe it until I see what else they have to say in a day or two. :notalk: Damnit, this had better not have been suicide.

spikerkid
I just can't see Benoit doing something like this. He seemed like a nice guy for the few years i've been watching wrestling. Hopefully they find that he didn't do this so people could still respect Benoit as a legendary wrestler instead of the guy who killed his family and himself. I hope either some random person did this or his wife. Can't bring the family back now. Just hoping one of my most respected wrestlers did this to his family. Bloodstain
Theres a 50+ page sticky about it in offtopic on rs official forums Benoit's death part of a double murder-suicide Written: June 25, 2007 According to lead investigator Lt. Tommy Pope, of the Fayette County Sheriff̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s Department, in Fayetteville, Ga., the deaths of WWE Superstar Chris Benoit, wife Nancy and son Daniel were the result of a double murder-suicide, WWE.com has learned. Benoit failed to appear both at Saturday̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s live event in Beaumont, Tx., and WWE̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s Vengeance: Night of Champions in Houston Sunday night, after informing WWE of a family emergency. Several curious text messages sent by Benoit early Sunday morning prompted concerned friends to alert Richard Hering, VP of Government Relations for WWE, Inc. Hering, in turn, spoke with Fayette County sheriffs Monday, and requested that they respond to the Benoit residence to check on him and his family. Authorities representing the Sheriff̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s Department initially had a difficult time entering Benoit̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s new Fayetteville home Monday afternoon, which had been guarded by two large German Shepherds roaming freely around the property. Once authorities entered the residence, they quickly located the bodies of Benoit, Nancy and Daniel. WWE was notified of the discovery at approximately 4 p.m. At 10 p.m. Monday night, Lt. Pope held a press conference in conjunction with Scott Ballard, the district attorney for Fayette County. The press conference officially ruled authorities̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ findings as a double murder-suicide from within the home. WAGA, a FOX-owned and operated television station in Atlanta, reported that investigators believe Benoit killed his wife and 7-year-old son over the weekend, then himself on Monday. The three bodies have been received by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s crime lab, in Decatur, Ga., where autopsies will be performed Tuesday morning. Toxicology reports will not become available for at least two weeks. WWE.com has further information relating to both the investigation and the cause of death, but the Fayette County Sheriff̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s Department has requested that WWE.com not release any additional details at this time. http://www.wwe.com/shows/ecw/superstars ... noitupdate This one is real, its all over other news sites and news stations.
