  1. Planks taken from spawns, Nails smithed, tools obtained from quests or spawns or asking other players for free, clay can be mined, molten glass made, limestone mined, you have a potentially free 99, which would take an extremely long time.
  2. Not expensive, just not worth it to waste the money however small it may be. As stated before, and you could have implied from my signature, I detest range. It's one of my least favorite skills, along with RC, Cons, Agility, and Summoning. They're all extremely useful skills (with the half exception of agility) but I HATE them and therefore, they are some of my lowest skills as I do not grind. Why not use them, though? Not grinding, just using them here and there for training? I might not have made myself clear....I hate them to death. I would gladly lose all my cash to just have them leveled to the point where I don't need to train them for anything.

  4. I know :3 but it's still fun in non item loss PVP minigames. I started playing maybe....since 2005? 2004? I was fairly leveled by the time Construction was introduced...I'm not totally sure. But I played for a while, then stopped for a long time, then got back into it and got scammed for a rune scim the first day, stopped for a long time, started again, stopped, and just a week or two ago I started playing again.
  5. If you know me, I don't train effectively other than when I really need a few quick levels. I just recently got 53 thieving from 44 for DT, and I thoroughly enjoyed it via Sorc. Gard. I took at least 3 breaks in between, which cut down efficiency a lot, but eliminated the chore aspect. I'm actually going for DT to go to Cwars and pwn. Not to camp burst rock lobs and grind 99 mage - i'm grinding now to have a lot of fun in the future. RS is about the journey usually, as are most MMORPGS, RPGS, FPS with levels, etc. I watch the levels go by and have some fun with my training, taking a bunch of breaks to go play something fun which gives only a small amount of XP or even none. RS is also a chance to escape real life and be the hero for once. And helping other players out and getting even just a "ty" in return feels so good. In these forums, I bash people, especially noobs, but in game I am very courteous. I'm also thirteen, proving that younger players can still have amassed much knowledge and be productive, kind players. Plus, the sense of accomplishment is immense and it comes up often. Every level feels like an accomplishment to me with my playing style, which is the best possible thing I can do IMO. If you read all of that, thank you in advance. :^_^:
  6. Quoted for Truth! Construction does not REQUIRE money. You can theoretically DIY to 99, but it would take a long [wagon] time
  7. Topic has exploded since I last saw it  Soooo - IMO wasting Barrows in Cwars is not a good idea unless you're just bored and want to dominate. As you might see by my sig, I got 53 thieving (Thank You, SG) and have just over 3k cam tele's left for 69 mage which will get me 70 with the reward from the quest. I hate range to death, but I guess I'm just gonna have to bring it with me. Train my range up one level to 50 first :wall: Let's keep the flaming down and the good discussion up (barring my exaggerated OP)
  8. You, and the rest of us, were all noobs at some point. Good idea though. But why is this in rants?
  9. 1. Try to spell stuff right 2. Katagon is probably the best you're going to hope for at that level
  10. Bursting/Barraging rock lobs or just do in soul wars since the HUGE numbers of people will allow you to maximize xp, plus it's megafun
  11. Otherwise agreed.
  12. How many FAIR games have you seen? I haven't seen a single one. It's always one team that dominates, spawn raping the other players and winning easily. It COULD be fair, but it rarely is. Why? I don't know. Because the ancienters are smart enough to organize. It's easy to see why, since they naturally would think that if they banded together, they'd do better than fighting each other. You can do the same. I know that, zaaps, I'm not THAT stupid  But aren't the teams supposed to be even since you can't join a team if it's going to make it uneven in levels? How does one team manage over 3,000 levels over the other team?

  14. My rant being picked to pieces, I over exaggerated quite a bit, which still does not change the fact that CW and SC are heinously slanted towards ancienters.
  15. In both games, what is the ONE FACTOR that wins the ENTIRE game? High level ancients mages. Whichever team has more, wins. Pretty much 95% of the time, this is true. And [bleep]ing christ is it annoying. Just trying to get some SC points so you can level your smithing a little faster? PK'D NOOB U SUK LOL ANCIENTS FTW TEHE They're pompous [wagon] who feel like they should be able to just ruin a game for you so they can get ten xp. And in Cwars, if you have say ten ancienters - you win. Done and done. Ice barrage and everyone's [bleep]ed. And yeah, DT is difficult and takes a long time and has a lot of high level requirements, but it doesn't change the fact that both these minigames are broken to pieces because of them. And in SC, the people that just sit and craft runes and don't help the team? Don't make pickaxes for players to use? Don't lend clay so others can help the team? Who just focus on personal points? [bleep] YOU. PLAY THE DAMN GAME.
  16. Yes, you can make a very good profit by cooking up some tasty tuna potatoes for those barrow and boss minded people. They heal more than sharks in one bite, but are very hard to make, and therefore sell well. Here's the math: 2245 (price of tuna potato mid) - 762 (cost of pat of butter) - 71 (cost of raw potato) - 147 ( cost of cooked tuna) - 58 (cost of cooked sweetcorn) - 21 (cost of bowl) = 1186 gp profit per potato NOTE: You don't need bowls for every potato, as you get them back and can reuse them. So you'll actually be making 1207 gp profit most of the time. Now, here's the process: 1. Buy cooked tuna, cooked sweetcorn, around 200 bowls or so, pats of butter, and raw potatoes. Number of potatoes, sweetcorns, and butters should equal each other. 2. Cook the potatoes. I used Catherby and did herb runs each time I finished a section of the process. 3. With a knife in inventory, cut the tuna into the bowls. 4. Cut the sweetcorn into the bowls. 5. Butter the potatoes. 6. Use tuna mix on potatoes. 7. Sell at GE for mid price, and restock supplies. I bought up my supplies on Friday afternoon, and I just finished making 402 tuna potatoes with a bunch of farming and questing in between, and made about an 800k profit. Damn.
  17. Farming runs in between smithing steel bars into cannonballs. You make like 900 gp profit per bar, plus the runs you do for farming, can net over 200k an hour. Forgot to say, smithing the bars is slowish, and therefore very AFKable.
  18. Per hour, most things are more efficient than slayer, especially at lower levels. Finished here?
  19. Just wanted to say, this is one of the best guides I have ever seen on merching/RS economics. Ever. If there was a +cookie button, my good sir, you would have received a cookie from me already. =D>
  20. What's your guess on the level I can hit with 30M worth of bursts? What level are you now? He edited his post after I commented, not my fault. If I were you, OP, I'd burst rock lobsters. If you don't want any risk and possibly faster xp, go to castlewars and burst the spawns. You can get 9 players a lot of the time.
  21. Stop acting like a rude piece of garbage, the OP is obviously asking for help in the freaking HELP AND ADVICE section of the forums. OP, those are revenants, they are very strong for their level so it is best to just run away until the revenant has passed or hop worlds. There is nothing you can do about them, they WILL attack you if your level is in their range and you are in the wild. He worded it badly and abused font size and color, and I was clarifying his confusing question. OP, if you want, you can use a forinthry bracelet for if a rev teleblocks you, otherwise just teleport away.
  22. google the most unique lyrics (i.e. non-chorus piece of the song)
  23. You do remember that this is HERBLORE we're talking about, right?
  24. What the [bleep] am I reading I'm going to assume you were in the wilderness, killing green dragons for a slayer task, and a revenant came and killed you with mage/range? What the hell...
  25. Magic: Ever heard of....Ancients? Ice Barrage combined with blood barrage? Melee is now completely screwed? And in normal spells, entangle + blood rune spells? Stat weakening spells? Melee: Overpowered. Godswords, whip, DDS, more variety, etc. Range: Underpowered, but crossbows have fast attacks, add enchanted bolts... Still, range is useless as of right now. The triangle is more balanced than you might think, other than the fact that range is [cabbage]. However, a ranger can still defeat a warrior if they use their advantages and play it smart.
