A second possibility if you do have your Flash Player at the latest version and have it fully functioning is that you have a firewall blocking Youtube. Try allowing Youtube through the firewall, see if that helps. There is also the possibility that anew5tart's Flash installation got borked somehow. To fix that, uninstall Flash and reinstall. The problem should disappear after that. ~Mr. D. V. Devnull

Combat training for high level f2p!!!
D. V. Devnull replied to upthebanner's topic in Help and Advice
Hey, don't disrespect the 'S.O.S.'s drops! I get some good stuff there! ~Mr. Devnull -
This would be needed if ever there were to be another "MSSW (Multi-Site Steel Wars)"... :? Nje03, what do ya think? :-s BTW, I support all the 'Clan Wars additions' that have been mentioned in this thread except one : ... The "60 seconds without combat gives arrows" rule. Some good clan wars, as I have discovered through other games, are best done with "hide and seek" hijinks. :P ~Mr. Devnull

Suggest to make all forums except marketplace F2P?
D. V. Devnull replied to RayOxide's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Did you forget about 'skiller'-type players, Moonshadow/Oylimpiana??? How about at least a 700+ skill total, and 1 blackmark or less on the player's record, showing that the player has a reasonable state of mind to be allowed in? :-s ~Mr. D. V. Devnull -
I think Grunteh wished to make note of it as a bug... However, I think this was an "intended feature" by Jagex, simply because Jagex didn't want complainers over players not being able to change color. :P ~Mr. D. V. Devnull

Juader has said it, but I'll say it again in a more understandable manner... We wish that energy for running was a stat, but it is not, and therefore, "Rapid Restore" has no effect on it. :( So, the answer to your question is a simple "NO"... :| Enjoy RuneScape... ~Mr. D. V. Devnull

Combat training for high level f2p!!!
D. V. Devnull replied to upthebanner's topic in Help and Advice
upthebanner, if you train mage and/or range at all, I suggest switching to the "Stronghold of Security, Level 4", also known as "Death's Domain" by some. You can make use of the non-aggressive nature of the monsters that occurs after so many 'melee kills'/'minutes elapsed', and switch to a safespotting-style of mage or range that would work extremely well for training it. BTW, you'll take far less damage from the Ankous, Skeletons, & Ghosts than you will from the Ice Giants & Ice Warriors. (Note: I use this method myself, and it is awesome for the drops I get.) Good luck to you on getting 126 combat. 8-) ~Mr. D. V. Devnull -
Well...I'm not sure, but I think the rum is used in some other quests...Although adding a little challenge onto those quests couldn't hurt. So yes, if a bank WAS added to F2P Karamja, then that'd be fine. But I don't support that, for reasons I've already said. And I agree with Yaz, I'm not seeing how that works. Am I missing something? Well, let's drop in Yaz's thought here: And now for what I'm seeing on the issue....... In short, there have been too many people thinking that having an outright bank in 'Musa Point, Karamja' would make it too easy in some ways for F2P to function in an off-mainland style, and therefore they have opposed it, but were more willing to have a deposit box. Then there are the 'macroer issues' that have been passed around the forums about 50 times or so. To be honest, however, I would love to have an outright bank on Karamja, if not as far out as Crandor. Any player who is having to trek out to Crandor to do their mining and/or combat training is having to face an outright waste of time right now, simply because of the distance, and it doesn't matter if they are F2P or P2P. HEY!!! I just had an idea! ... Why not have the bank as one of those guys, like with the "Bounty Hunter Site", and they're like a special gift for successfully beating 'Elvarg the Dragon' and defeating the "Dragon Slayer" Quest?!?!? Yes, they would have to be located somewhere on Crandor Island, but at the same shot, there would be at least an Automatic Combat Level Requirement through the quest to access them successfully, which would defeat the whole problem with macroers! Well, people, what do you all think??? F2P gets something at least workable, and P2P gets something rather nice in the same shot, which would solve a lot of problems!!! :-s ~Mr. D. V. Devnull

Ray, here's one more set of numbers that might help your decision: 1 attack/1 strength/41 defense/1 range/60 mage/45 prayer/40 hp = Combat Level 55 My thoughts? Should be more than comfortable for a skiller with kick-[bleep] mage abilities. Nice high skill total, nice low combat level. 8-) ~Mr. D. V. Devnull

Penguingeek3, the following says what I might have potentially told you: and kill the skillers? i think that they should have a deposite box that can only be useed after doing the pirates tresure(spelling?) quest. Also, instead of requiring the completion of "Pirate's Treasure", the one other thing they could do would be to have a customs officer next to the deposit box and prevent storing of the karamjan rum in the bank through there. Okay, penguingeek3, back at you now... what do you think? :-s ~Mr. D. Jagex fails on a sticky runescape situation

I agree, those sound like great features to add to this idea and the thread. ~Mr. Devnull -
A hair off-topic, but worth the following response.......... Don't hijack my thread. Post your own. This wouldn't work because we might need to use a different computer. Besides, a hacker could just change the ip address once he has your password. Further, for those who are on dial-up/DSL/Cable that have Dynamic IP Addresses assigned to them due to their ISP, they would need to be able to input a valid range of IP Addresses that are allowed to access the user's account, instead of locking it to just one IP only. Kinda kills 123rockstar's thought. :? ~Mr. D. V. Devnull

Online/Offline is only useful if you find the user online when you want to talk to them. If you don't hit that sweet spot, you're left clueless just like any other time. The Online/Offline tag appears both on the profile page and in the avatar area of each post the user has made. Adding 'last online' to the profile isn't really a big deal either. PhpBB3 has about the same amount of info in the profile as PhpBB2. It's a bit more spread out on the skin we're using at Rscript but nothing you couldn't fix with a bit of skin customizing. I guess I might as well toss a question in then in an attempt to learn a little more...: How much additional server strain would there be, tracking hidden users and last online dates/times ??? :-k ~D. Now that IS an idea, looking at it. You can put stuff in, but you can't pull it out. This means if you need to pull anything out of your bank for use, you STILL have to go back to the non-wildi mainland. Would help Crandor Miners, and Wildi & Karamja Fishers, but WITHOUT allowing a heavy boost to F2P'ers who were trying to stay out of the non-wildi mainland. Of course, I wonder, where exactly would these deposit boxes be put for those zones? And would some usable trees be put in wildi near the fishing zone for those who fish? LOL  ... All it does is make me not want to be P2P, let alone the fact that I can't afford it anyway. Jagex needs to learn that they should not make the free version look like [long bleep - too much swearing] if they want more people in the member version of RuneScape. Why? Anyone with at least half-a-mind will be thinking to themself, "Do I really want to pay out money when the free version looks like this? NO WAY!" ... Smart people don't want to spend money for upgrades to something they think will be just as bad in the upgraded form. At this point, those smart people are well within their right to think this, given the most recent updates as well as the updates of the past 2 years. ~Mr. D. V. Devnull

No, we will still need this protection added. If any hacker who wishes to do damage breaks past a user's password and logs in, at the moment, the hacker has effectively free access to a user's inventory and equipped gear, to cause damage to as they please, as well as kill the player's character and send them back to the respawn point without all the stuff. Not a very great thought, in my opinion. :| You're welcome. Hopefully this idea will still go through. ~Mr. D. V. Devnull

no one would collect/buy 1million buckets for 1m. that would take forever, and If they bought the buckets it would cost more than one million gold. +1. Dirk could probably have easily made several million gp himself before he managed to get his paws on a million buckets. What's happened is that the RWTer has received real money for nothing because the customer has done 1 mill gp's worth of work, and received his pay for his efforts. Besides, the GE prices aren't perfect yet, and perhaps there is a need for some decimal place value (ie. a tenth of a gp) for items such as buckets, because with items like this which are bought in bulk, the difference between 1 gp each and 2gp each is huge. Anyway, unbalanced trade hasn't come in yet at 100%, so RWTing still exists. It's just that most of them have got the idea and packed up and left. In conclusion, there is nothing illegal here, because Dirk isn't paying for his money. He's just paying. Actually, there is something illegal going on here, will_holmes. Dirk is being scammed out of his IRL $$$ by John, as well as their promised-but-totally-illegal gp. So it is more than just RWT-gone-incomplete, it is also theft by the RWT'er of Dirk's IRL money, and all because Dirk was not smart enough to not fall into the trap. Kinda sad, when ya think about it. :( ~Mr. Devnull

Away Messages .:40+ supporters!!!!:.
D. V. Devnull replied to Georgelemmons's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
I'll support this... However, I would like the idea changed as follows... 1.) Put the away message controls in the logout pane, and require manual activation of the away message before logout with an alternate button. 2.) Don't delete the message at next logon, just disarm it until activated again, so the user can check it after or change it semi-easily on the fly. ...because it would be more friendly to those who forget messages or want to set them up a few logouts in advance. Here's to good luck on this going well. : ~Mr. D. V. Devnull -
So in short, you're saying that RWT'ers are not totally shot and are back in business? :ohnoes: This means Jagex and all the 'legal & innocent' players will still continue to suffer badly. #-o ... I guess no one is out of the woods then as of yet. More Borked Updates to come soon, then? ~Mr. Devnull

One with a magic bow and rune arrows or better. Oh wait, wouldn't that kind of monster be like a P2P'er with an unfair advantage in F2P? ... Arrows that can freeze and damage that high from a ranger is NOT something that is supposed to exist in F2P! Neither are there supposed to be mages that can teleblock! What in the heck is Jagex thinking?!?!? In a really twisted and nasty way, they're being totally hypocritical to their "We won't give P2P an unfair advantage against F2P" statement with this!!! :x I would agree that they may have marked a lower combat level than it really has stats for. Almost got killed by one while with a buddy, but thankfully, we both got away alive by swapping a few times who was being shot at by the revenant. Thankfully I had the higher cb level of the two of us, lol... Gave the revenant a nice "razz"-ing :P in return, but it hits too hard to stand and fight, and is too well protected against "curse/confuse/weaken" combos. :? Well said. I've tried and just ended up running, no matter as to whether I use melee, range, and/or mage to battle the revenants. :| ... These monsters are literally like pures (no offense intended to their kind) in a way, but on steroids with strangely high defense like an omni or hybrid. This is a definite sign that their cb level is marked too low. :-k Agreed. Although I had never thought of summoning quite that way before reading your post. I guess this is Jagex's way of preventing most 'legal & innocent F2P'ers from using the wildi, effectively saying "You want to survive out there? Unless you're gonna pay for P2P, we're gonna keep you from being up there a lot of the time...", which I have to say, I do not like that attitude coming from such a company as Jagex. (BTW, if I have started to sound 'circular' while typing some of this, I apologize. Had a few bad distractions here. -.- ...) ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
