  1. Expanding on what Madam Tripsis has said, and what N_Odie has hinted to... I can see a critical way in which such a "Give '+ Rate' ONLY" system can be abused. Imagine, a group of users sets out to totally make someone completely useless, even though they have the right answer and/or thought, by giving rating points to someone that does not. This can cause a user who isn't that great to have an awful reputation, while someone who's a total [bleep] could have such a good reputation, and to quite the extent that the good user gets ignored. I hate to say it, but I'm backing Cruiser on this one. TOTAL NON-SUPPORT on this idea, in any and all forms. (TBH, it takes a serious downside to cause me to be against an idea.) :notalk: ~Mr. Delta Varuna Devnull (Tip.It's ultimate last defense, and ultimate bad nightmare against bad ideas...)
  2. More colors, eh? Are the Admins going to manually do "css-based substyles" for each theme, which even though they would expand the list a lot, would give greater choice to the community? (Yes, this is a major idea here.) ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  3. And it looks like you nailed it, square on, Tripsis... Nice job!!!!! BTW, I just found the next bug... The formatting tags, while editing... I know that Albosky would remember what it was like, prior to this whole mess. I liked being able to open and close when I chose, instead of just being thrown both tags. Also, I liked how several formats could be applied at any time to one given selection. Is there any way this particular functionality can be restored? :-s ~D. V. Devnull
  4. It is worse than that... There are some being marked as "TCE Leader", "Tip.It Moderator", and "Tip.It Crew", just to name a few... You have to dig far enough to see them, but they're definitely scary. :ohnoes: ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  5. 12,862 Kaphias, consider me curious... By any chance does that "One Final Goal..." name on a link of yours happen to be based on the name of that one music piece in Halo, "One Final Effort"? :anxious: ~D. V. Devnull
  6. You're VERY welcome. I'm gonna be glad to have the siggy system fixed too. :D Off-side item... No offense intended to your choice in signatures and avatars, madam. I've just heard some awfully scary stuff (as in things I shouldn't post in this thread) about ferrets. Rather non-fun stuff, TBH. :ohnoes: ~D. V. Devnull
  7. What? :o Wasn't it you, Devoted, that turned it into a forum of it's own? :P Must I remind you of the rollback, Cowman? ~Mr. Devnull
  8. I agree on what Pikachu said... Devoted, you have a great start on it, now you just need to follow through with whatever is still missing. Good Luck to you. ~D. V. Devnull
  9. Hiya, Tripsis... : Okay, I see some fixing of the signature handling system took place. However, it still needs work. As of my last check, which is posted within what is at http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=744120&p=5810380#p5810380 due to a little misplacement (SORRY! ...) on my part, I found out the system is reading my signature as being 296 displayed characters, when it should be reading as only 215 displayed characters. My method for finding this out is copying the displayed signature at the bottom of any of my posts (not the underlying code) and using the counting script that is located at http://www.javascriptkit.com/script/script2/charcount.shtml to get the exact count. Now, I could understand this forum's scripts penalizing 20 per image, if any at all... but 86??? :uhh: ... In all seriousness, can you PLEASE have someone fix this??? The signature mod here should only be counting what will be displayed, not any of the code tags that comprise the final product. (Yes, I will admit this can lead to some minor length abuses, but anyone making a legal signature isn't going to be making the actual code longer than twice the 255 displayed limit, TBH.) :-s As for this... YIKES!!! ... Nice catching that... I'll have to watch out until such time as it is fixed then. :? Now, pardon me while I run from the ferrets ... <*DVD screams :o and runs far, far away.*> ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  10. 12,865 Anyone got a picture of a whole bunch of vehicles moving on a freeway? :-s ~Mr. Devnull
  11. I agree. I'd like back the ones that are referred to as "huh" and "<_<", and the sizes of a few others need extreme fixing. Something tells me that, when the phpBB designers made Version 3, they weren't thinking very much about design and styles in this regard. (File it under "D'oh!"... #-o ...) Other than that, the only other problems I have are the "hide tag" issue, and someone needs to finish fixing the signature modification to the forums. I still can't tweak my sig, apparently due to its' supposed size (296 characters as the system is reading it) when there are only 215 characters displayed, as shown by the code that is located at http://www.javascriptkit.com/script/script2/charcount.shtml ... The underlying code needs to be not counted in any way, shape, or form. :ugeek: ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  12. An E-mail, huh? Darn... And I can't get to my mail very often. :( This may trigger a suggestion from me. Stay Tuned. :geek: ~D. V. Devnull
  13. 12,870 ... Hopefully, we're back underway? :?: ~Mr. Devnull
  14. LOL!!! 12,875 Long way to go to 12,000, though. *sigh* ~Mr. Devnull
  15. We will have to wait a while for that feature to return. At the moment, Tip.It's Staff is working hard to ensure that all the bugs in the forum are handled and dealt with. ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  16. Hello, Tip.It Staff... I have a query in regard to the reporting system, seeing as it got a major change with the advent of PhpBB v3 ... [*:2s6g1o0h]Will users actually get told somehow if they set "Notify me" to "Yes", and their report does get handled? [*:2s6g1o0h]Also, will the message show up in the forums somewhere, or will I be e-mailed (which means I'd never know for a while) about it? [*:2s6g1o0h]Or have the forums been configured to never respond back to that option? Seeing as I know that all of you are totally bogged down at the moment, I'll just sit back and wait a long time for an answer. (BTW, I'd insert some sort of happy emote here, if I could.) ~D. V. Devnull (Note from Post Author: I'm noticing my voice is sounding a bit snippy here, and I am very sorry, as it is not meant to sound that way.)
  17. Bad count mark, but you're not getting had, because I got had by someone further up... 12,881 ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  18. I share your sentiments on the whole matter. Like I said in another thread, I hope the jerk that did this damage burns in hell for what they have done. Heck, I've been left with a temporarily untweakable signature. 12,883 ... I just realized that I got had by someone else that blew this thread off!!! ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  19. I agree, seeing as that surely would have helped prevent this situation. ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  20. Funny... I see 20 previous pages, as well as your opening post. So yes, there is something to support here! ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  21. You're not alone in the high-impact zone... I lost 700+ (Yes, I'd evolved into an "Ice Giant Melter", and then some!) posts, most of which were pretty darn useful, and my PPD has been utterly smashed into the "<4" range. It is going to be 2 years before I hit ">5" again, I think. *sigh* ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  22. <*DVD sits back, and quietly checks the post count on this thread...*> Hmm... well, due to what's happened, you're all excused... consider yourselves lucky! All 'gank'ings will resume with the next mistake in the count. Due to the damage, current count mark is... 12,889 LET THE COUNT RESUME!!! ~Master D. V. Devnull
  23. Now if only you could pack that in "hide" tags... Oh well... Good luck to all of us supporters on this resume of the thread. ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  24. Sadly, I don't think so... And the Google Cache is a pain to even get near... Sorry. We'll just have to resume from where we are. Good luck to all of us who support. ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
