  1. How does it not? I'll be only too glad to make things even easier for you to understand Are you done? Or would you like to wind us up even more? It is exactly people like you jack who stop America from moving on and using its power for good in the world.
  2. Probably because of Bush's black and white "You're either with us, or against us" view of the world. France didn't support the war in Iraq, indeed, they publicly opposed it, and with Germany have delayed a decision on Ukraine and Georgia's inclusion to NATO. Good on them, to be honest. You honour the dead by declaring a war in which tens of thousands of innocent people are killed? Damn, I would hate to die in your presence.
  3. I'll spell out the very basic skills of arguing for you. An argument usually consists of three things, in sequential order - a point, some evidence to back up said point, and an explanation of the point and how it is relevant to the debate or topic in hand. There are other structures, but all stem from this simple P.E.E. structure. Thus, posting a YouTube video isn't an argument. However, since you posted it, I will respond. I'll give the name of a country which is free, and doesn't need to assert the freedom by attacking other countries - France. If you honestly believe attacking other countries, while scaling up home security, is a way of achieving freedom, then you are, quite frankly, a fool.

Starwolf, on the Lylat Cruise stage. I love the drums in the background. Either that or Rockin' K.K. on Smashville (I think it's only on during 8-12pm Saturdays, when K.K. Slider appears for real in AC:WW in the Roost).
  5. I fail to see the difference between being a bi/homosexual and participating in homosexual acts. I'm a heterosexual, which is widely regarded as normal, and if were to participate in heterosexual intercourse, that too would be deemed normal within reason. I can't see the difference just because the action in question is between two people of the same gender. Simply put, if being a homosexual is OK by them, why isn't participating in homosexual acts? One logically follows the other. No I haven't, not even during the annual Manchester Pride festival when I was in Manchester this year.
  6. Stop using cop-out arguments and answer the point. It is a perfectly valid factor so long as religious organisations are the only bodies that can legally marry two people. It's quite the opposite. It's actually allowing the Church to carry on with its homophobia, while allowing homosexuals the basic principles of equality to their hetereosexual counterparts. Believe me, if I wanted to force people into believing what *I* believe is right, the concept of religion deciding who can and cannot get married would be a non-issue - they'd do it or face charges on discrimination. My solution is actually incredibly lenient, given my moral principles. Hating someone's actions does not equate to hating someone as a person. I wasn't aware it was one's action to be black, or a homosexual for that matter. Through fear of sounding like a broken record, neither is a conscientious choice.
  7. Don't get sarcastic when it's not even right. We also suffered from an indiscriminate terrorist attack thanks to al-Qaeda. We were on those same train lines the morning after, and we sure as hell don't come to complete standstill every year on 7/7. Those who died would want us to get on with our lives as normal, and they especially would not want us to kill others in their name. I don't want to turn the deaths of 3,000 people into an argument (despite the US turning it into two very bloody wars), but at the same time, I refuse to be told that I *have* to pay my respects.
  8. Oh, well that's alright then. I mean, I've nothing against paedophiles, it's just the act of paedophilia that irks me. That's pretty much the same as the old strawman argument against racism: "My best mate is black, so I can't be racist". Then fine, the solution is to remove the Church's exclusive right to marry couples, provide state-sanctioned marriages, and the Church can lose with it the ridiculous amount of money needed for a wedding these days. A civil partnership isn't good enough, as it is unequal to marriage by its very nature, and therefore, discriminative.

[hide=][/hide] Well that's one way of asking for a match without really asking for one. :P And yeah, Basic Brawls are awful. In fact, if you want to train properly, don't even consider going to BB... ever! If you're online I can brawl you now.

In regards to Georgia, it annoys me that the Western media, in order to create an anti-Russian slant on the conflict, has presumed that Georgia's wanting to join NATO is a good idea. Let's look at that conflict. Russia reacted disproportionately, I think we can all agree there. But the Georgian PM (or President, can't remember which) deliberately picked a war with Russia on the miscalculation the western world would come to defend it out of loyalty to its commitment to NATO. It was a totally hot-headed, and arrogant judgement that could very well have lead to a situation spiralling out of control. As it happens, the only thing that avoided WWIII was the fact Georgia are not in NATO, so we were not obliged to send military aid. If Georgia becomes a part of NATO, it will only serve two purposes. Firstly, they may very well make that miscalculation again, only this time, we will have to declare war on Russia. Secondly, it only adds to Russia's increasing paranoia that the West is attempting to stop its rebirth as a superpower, and this naturally lends Russia as an ally to China, despite the two countries being at odds for most of the past few decades. On this logic, there needs to be a "buffer zone" between Russia and the NATO member-countries. At least the French and Germans have figured as much, and have attempted to delay a decision on Georgia's inclusion into NATO.
  11. Why? We've moved on. I don't understand this mentality at all. That you fear we're all gonna forget about 9/11, so you feel a need to force it into our minds every year on its anniversary again. I don't know about others, but the images from 9/11 are the single most memorable images of my childhood, and I don't even live in America. That's like me asking you to just stop your lives every year for the Lockerbie plane bombings. I wouldn't ask or expect you to do so. Or the bombings on 7th July on the London Underground. Or the Madrid train bombings. Or all the various times al-Qaeda have messed around with impoverished African nations. And yes, before anyone dares mention it, I do actually have relatives in New York, one of which should have been in the WTC on 9/11. It was tragic, but simply put - there is a time to move on. Let's look at the US's reaction to 9/11. A war in Iraq which has actually cost more lives than the 9/11 attacks actually killed in the first place, without bringing any significant reduction in threat. In fact, some would argue the increase in anti-Americanist feeling in the Middle East has actually made America more vulnerable to an attack, not less.
  12. I suffer from stress a lot and it doesn't take a lot to set my fuse. It's one of my more negative traits, and I've developed ways of coping with it. It depends what sort of stress it is. If it's overwhelming stress, I'll write whatever's irking me down on a piece of paper, and then usually scrunch it up again and throw it away before anyone else can read it, or if it's something I might need later, I'll keep it hidden. In some ways, it's actually better than talking to others. There's no one else you can be more discreet to than yourself, at the end of the day, and you don't have to worry about how the person you're telling is taking it. It's off your chest, and you've not "burdened" anyone else with your problems. But if it's general stress, usually a few songs (piano pop/rock music, typically. Dunno why, but pianos are soothing), or a good walk, or spending some time with friends will fix it and put me in a good mood again.
  13. That's exactly the attitude you need. Good start!
  14. It's a difficult barrier to overcome, but you have to realise that challenging your fears head first is the best way of solving them, because psychologically you start to realise there's actually nothing to be afraid of. If you want conversation starters - and there are better qualified people than me on Tip.It who can give you advice here - I'd probably talk about what music they're into, or sport, or what they watched on TV last night or something like that.
  15. You have a point, but maybe then the issue is that artists have too much difficulty getting their music heard so they can 'hook' people onto them, in order to sell tickets for live performances and merchandise later. Maybe what artists (or rather, record companies) should be doing is making a few of their songs available for free for a certain time only on iTunes and mp3 websites like Napster or 7digital. Because you're right - I'm not gonna pay 80p for a song I may very well not like, but I don't exactly want to steal from them to make sure I'm buying right either. :? As far as musicians making too much money is concerned - the musicians themselves will make hardly anything compared to the record label. They constantly use the excuse "But it's a high risk, so high risk, high rewards" but when one band is making them millions of dollars in profit maybe they should just be taxed more in order to lower prices for the consumer.
  16. If you don't like talking about yourself, maybe you can try listening to other people about their experiences? Obviously don't just walk up to some random stranger and start interrogating them, but the people you do get along with, just get to know them better. Then lines of conversation will start opening from that. Apart from that, just generally try socialising more and you'll become more confident in the way you approach and talk to people. Also, try and take some time out of each day, even if it's only 10 minutes, for you to just relax and put life into some sort of perspective. It helps with confidence and self-esteem.
  17. ^ You're referring the tiny minority that actually make it anywhere on the music scene. The vast majority of artists won't sell platinum albums and won't be millionaires in a year.
  18. My favourites would be: Forum.Tip.It Wikipedia Animalcrossingcommunity BBC BBC iPlayer/Radio Smashboards YouTube The worst site I have ever come across is, without doubt, 4chan, closely followed (although not by much) by MySpace.
  19. Didn't you hear? Any sort of state ownership is just one step on the slippery slope to Communism in these post-Cold War days. :shame: Companies should be allowed to do whatever they like, even if that means irresponsibly lending out loads of money to families which can't pay it back and causing an international credit crunch in the process. If you picked up sarcasm in that post, your senses are indeed correct.
  20. Exactly, that's my point. When I bought my DS back in April 2005 (I think), the DS Lite wasn't realised until a good year and a half later. When the GBA was released in June 2001, the GBA SP wasn't realised until almost two years after that. Moreover, they actually had some tangible advantages compared to their predecessors - the stronger and clearer backlight + smaller and lighter design + bigger stylus of the NDS Lite vs. the DS, and the pocket-sized nature + backlight of the SP vs. the GBA. I object to spending in excess of £100 every 9 months, like only someone in the middle classes could, just because they've slightly fiddled about with the design a tiny bit, and passed it off as a whole new model, just because it's an iPod. Maybe if the quality of the music was better (since that is, after all, what an iPod is for), I'd consider, but they're just re-releasing what is essentially the same thing over and over again at full price instead of giving us the chance to upgrade the iPod's we already have.
  21. Shake to shuffle your tunes... why? What's wrong with a few clicks of the Menu button and spending all 5 seconds of your time scrolling down to "Shuffle songs"? A new shape... what's wrong with selling a case for the Nanos that already exist? Why make us pay a fortune for a whole new iPod just so we can have the shape? A "Genius" feature... I can make a playlist perfectly well by myself. Why do I get the feeling this feature will come with a friendly "Inside the Apple store" section too? This is a pointless gimmick - and I say that as someone who owns a 3G Nano. Nothing on this is something that can't already be done with a few minutes of uninterrupted attention. (Hmm... Maybe THAT's why these things sell so well with students...)
  22. You still regard Blackburn a good team because they won the league 13 years ago, and were relegated 4 years later? OK... :?

Yet you have a Republican President who declares a war (no, two wars) which costs the US taxpayer billions of USD. If McCain and Palin come into office, she will push for a ban on abortion, thus removing the will of women who desire one. Bush on several occasions has vetoed stem-cell research, thus removing the will of researchers who want to push scientific boundaries. That doesn't strike me as a Party that wants to promote the will of the people. It strikes me as a Party who will tell you they don't want to force people (in issues close to them which they know they'd lose - gun control for starters), but will force itself if something contradicts their own moral standards, with most of these standards coming straight out of the Bible.
  24. The white pointy things on the left image (bigger one) look to be in a different place in my eyes (that's my view of the image, I could be wrong) and I don't think it's the camera angle that's making them look like they're in a different place either. Also it looks to me like he's using an UNTRIMMED Slayer Cape, as there is no "red trim" on the outsides, if you look closely, it looks black-trimmed if you compare it to the right image (i don't know what a trim/untrim slayer cape looks like, so I could be barking up the wrong tree, if so, sorry). All untrimmed capes still have coloured shoulder pads. Doing research is usually a good idea before speculating. Perhaps the most important point of all though is this - you're still no closer to owning one by speculating over whether one is being shown in this picture or not.
  25. There's quite clearly an arm showing on his left... how can it be a plate?
