Lost forum link
It was indeed intentional. We (as in not me, but more senior members of the Tip.It staff) felt the side bar was getting too full and long, so we (...) decided to remove the forum link from the side. If you look at the top though, there's one just below the Ad banner, next to "HOME".

Really? Many would call me an extreme Liberal, yet I don't support a strong economy over social liberalism... :-k

How Unions Are Ruining the Economy
Perhaps we're just an exception to the rest of the world. Britain was first country to have trade unions, and trade unionism has always been a part of our economic and political systems since their foundations. Even during WWII, where you'd have expected a government led by a war-loving Tory to ban all strikes with ruthless enforcement, the number of strikes actually rose, and the trade unions were not only allowed to continue with Bevin, but actually perhaps gained more power through the Joint Production Commitees. As for the postal strike, well, we have email now. The need for an effective postal system isn't as large as it used to be. It was never going to bring the economy to its knees realistically. As for the topic, as many have mentioned, yes trade unions do hinder an economy's progress, but they're vital. Otherwise business ethics will always overrule work ethics, and needless to say, that's a terrible situation for workers. It allows them to be exploited by greedy industrialists. You could also argue a happy workforce is a productive workforce; indeed, there's stats to prove that's true. Allowing workers to have their own trade unions allows them to be represented, thus making them more happy and thus more productive.

Tarns Lair monsters [COMPLETED?]
Have you tried asking about on /Lightning? There's a few names in there I know would help - they have done loads in the past. Just a thought if you want someone to hunt with ya. I'll check Jard's monster examine database to see if these actually do exist. Could be both of us missed them out completely, maybe... EDIT: All the new entries have been added and released. :D

god wars bandos (general graardor drops)
It appears this one slipt the net. That Gold drop amount should have been changed yesterday. Unfortunetely, since someone has already mentioned the gold drop amounts, I can't credit you for this information. Thanks for helping though. :) Locked ~Ginger Warrior

UNoffical Tip It Clan Chat! Join Channel: Lightning
Catnip, I understand your frustration, but there's really nothing we can do. Only one person knows the password to Lightning's account - Lightning, who is currently on leave from Tip.It. The best you can do is PM her, and hope that she gets round to it in time. I'd also remind you about the deletion of all PMs in inboxes at the turn of the month, so resending any serious issues may not be such a bad idea either if the PM is still in your "Outbox". If it's in your "Sentbox" however, rest assured she's read it. Until then, we have to make do with what we have. If you don't like it, no one's forcing you to stay there.

Why outside forums > official forums
I'm not "pissed" at anyone. See, I challenge people's viewpoints, not the people themselves. What you were saying was, "Fansite forums are more intelligent than RSOF", which frankly isn't necessarily true. In fact, I've been involved in many an intelligent debate on the RSOF. I recall one discussion about black dragonhides needing a defence level requirement. Perfectly mature conversation. In fact, a few forum mods actually came in and commended us. that topic was in Rants BTW. There was another one in the Off-Topic forum about Pok̮̩̉̉mon. Again, perfectly mature. We were talking about IVs and everything. Just because some topics are bad, doesn't mean the whole forum suddenly lowers in IQ or maturity (if you can even measure such a thing). I remind you there's been many a benial thread on Tip.It as well, but would you say Tip.It has a lower IQ than, say, RuneHQ because of it?

Why outside forums > official forums
Ahh, I see. In which case, I accept your apology. : I wouldn't actually have bothered if the the whole purpose of his post wasn't about fansites being more intelligent or mature. I detest generalisations which have no real proof behind them, so I used that against him. As for my response to the thread, now I've had some time to actually think about it, I think fansites are better than the official sites because fansites simply have more time to nourish a healthy community. Let's be honest, if you were Jagex, would you be particularly bothered about having the negative community everyone complains about, or would you be more focused on game development, advertising revenue and customer support? In other words, things which actually attract people to the game and keep Jagex a financially viable company. Tip.It, on the other hand, can focus more intensely on how it organises its community. Since all the staff on Tip.It actually work voluntarily, it costs much less to maintain the Tip.It main website than Jagex to maintain theirs. Then there's the whole issue of traffic. As many have pointed out, a thread 3 days old drops completely off the forum. I've seen worse. The Fletching forum has topics on page 50 that were created only earlier that day. It's hard enough for the forum moderators there to make sure people are abiding by the rules, let alone encourage a healthy sense of community whilst their at it. Fansites by their very nature will be more helpful, since that's their purpose after all. If a person comes to a fansite expecting help for their in-game goals, then the chances are that person will in turn be more helpful to the next person needing help on that particular goal. What happens is a community develops, mostly full of people willing to help others out. That by its very nature is more friendly. So, there's many factors as to why fansite forums are better than the official forums. Merely saying "Fansites are more mature and intelligent" really doesn't completely explain that well enough.

If you could ask a jmod any question...
As a Socialist, I feel I have to question you and say, what are you on about "Communist"? Probably: "Is there anyway of removing the 10.0 blackmarks from my account for that offence I never actually commited?"

Runescape (the name)
In every other game I've seen, a Rune is a mystical force, usually contained within a rock or a stone, hence we have runes. I've never once seen the ground on RuneScape referred to as "Earth", so I presume the ground in RS is called "Rune". "Scape" simply means an area of space, so presumably, the area the rune covers. Therefore, we have RuneScape.

Way to make sarcasm backfire. Way to make being a grammar nazi backfire: http://www.apostrophe.fsnet.co.uk/ He's using the possessive form in this case, so his initial post was correct. Way to try and act smart without properly reading it: Thus I think you'll find I'm actually right. Now, I made my point. I think you'll find my "Grammar Nazi" ways actually had a point to them. Can we please end the spam?

Money skills--Taking over runescape?
Fletching's profit margins haven't been decresing due to a new attitude towards training skills. Contant macroing crackdowns by Jagex on both flax pickers and yew log cutters have meant there is less supply of these vital goods in the market, meaning prices have risen according to supply and demand. The high alching value of the bows hasn't risen simultaneously, however, so the amount magers are willing to buy the bows hasn't changed much. In short, it costs more to make the bow which sells for the same price as before, so the margin decreases. I can still get a good 40GP per bow though. That's pretty good money, and a free skill, whatever way you look at it.

Hidden Updates
You may also notice the 2 mime masks in the chat box also move now while selecting the emotes. And yes, the big trees have been there since RS2 was released. Yes, there are more of them all over RS... The locations of the emotes are also changed after each one. I've gotten mimes almost on an hourly basis, and I know it's new. The login music is also changed. Probably already said though. I can personally confirm all of the above. :)

Who Should have a Nuke? And WWII
Indeed. Considering all the wars Hitler raged were over "living space" primarily, the concept that Hitler would nuke his opponents, thus creating barron inhabitable wastelands of his new empire, seems a bit baffling to be honest. It defeats the whole purpose of the Volksgemeinschaft. No one should have nucelar weapons. If I'm completely honest, I don't believe for one moment any of the world's leading democratic powers would consider using a nucelar weapon, especially the USA, which proclaims to the leader of the free world. Which beckons the question; why do they need them? They could smash any country's economy (other than China, maybe) by simply issueing an embargo against them.

Monday Poll: What feature would you like Tip.It to release?
Zybez themselves admit their prices can at times be 500% innaccurate - that's massive, and in no way can be deemed "accurate". I honestly think a price guide maintained by humans is just not feasable. :|
