  1. Nintendo are infamous for not listening to their fans. Fact. They'd rather wait and surprise everyone with the full, mind-blowing thing, than do a Microsoft thing and release little demos for everyone to get excited enough to buy the game, then get disappointed after they've played the real version and found out the real thing's not quite as good as the demos led them to believe. Also, with the release of Mario Galaxy, it was never likely Nintendo were going to release two of their A-Grade games so close to each other. Sorry, but that's just how marketing works.
  2. Two problems with that argument: A) The farmers don't sell to the corporations, they don't make any money, they die of starvation. Because of the cycle of poverty, there is no oppotunity. It's not like an educated soceity where if I don't like one job, I can simply switch to another. A farmer either farms and sells to the corporations, or he and his family die. That's not a choice, and they can't just "do something else". B) The farmer tells the corporation he wants more money for his produce, the corporation always turns round and says, "Oh, OK, we'll just buy our produce from that farmer next door then. Bye!". They can't ask for a fair deal, because that would involve losing their trade. If farmers were honestly getting a fair deal from big corporate giants like McDonald's, Walmart and in Britain, Tesco, do you really think organisations like FairTrade would be needed? Argue all you want, capitalism involves the making of money by one person over the losing of money by another, mostly because it involves competition. When people starve to death, or can't afford basic needs for living, as a part of that system, just so we can live easy lives, I personally find that deeply immoral.
  3. [hide] ENGLAND!!! Typical game of Rugby. No wonder I follow League, its such a more exciting game. The poms didn't even cross the line once the whole game and it was decided by Johnny kicking 4 goals between a post. Boring, you guys didn't even deserve to win. We got dominate by England, they honestly deserved to win more than we did. Honestly England had like 70% of possession and were way more threating than we ever were. Luckily, only the stupid states play Rugby.... :shame: Pity the league world cup is the tri nations aye?  Am I missing something? I don't think they actually show Rugby games in most of Australia or either its on at the worst times lol [/hide] Rugby League is Australia's most popular sport... :|
  4. Um, yes? If the farmers feel they are being treated unfairly, they don't have to sell to the companies anymore. If all the farmers did that, then the companies wouldn't have any sugar to buy, and would have to pay more or go out of business. If they don't sell to the big supermarket chains at their knock-down prices, who can they sell to? Noone, that's who. They either sell their produce to the supermarkets and the companies who take advantage of them, or their family starves more than it currently is. You make it sound like those farmers actually have a choice in who they sell to...
  5. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=221922 As Mc90123 says, it's nice you want to help out, but telling us exactly what information we should be putting into our guides/databases is much more meaningful and contributing. All shops should now have been updated to include infinite stock anyway. After checking, this shop in particular has been updated to include infinite stock. Thanks for helping out, :) Locked ~Ginger Warrior
  6. The size of the update (62 monsters or something like that) meant that it was always going to take a lot of time for me and the other two members of the Bestiary team to work through all the submissions. So I apologise for the time it's taking to get those drops added. :( I'll make a note about those drops being noted though. Thanks. :)
  7. Your logic falls flat there. According to capitalism, if one person is profiting, or receiving something for cheaper (you in this case), someone else must be paying a higher price to compensate the company's loss. Is it OK by you that McDonald's sell Hot Chocolate, or Walmart sell sugar, cheaply, if it means that a farmer in the Caribbean or in Africa has his/her profits squeezed for the company to make up for that loss, and in turn, struggles to feed his/her family? As meol says, what you need to understand is that capitalism has its bad sides. For you to have cheaper products, and for global companies to make the billions of dollars profit they make, someone else has to suffer. In our world, that's mostly the workers and the labourers who actually make the raw materials for that product. I see plenty wrong in that. If you don't, then you really are a true capitalist.
  8. In an essence it wasn't until the late 1840s when Karl Marx wrote The Manifesto of the Communist Party (more commonly known as The Communist Manifesto). It was written for the working masses to promote Communism, but is often viewed as the definitive communistic work. Communism has always been: 1)the elimination of social classes 2)the controlling of all economic production and distribution by the government 3)the elimination of all concept of private property 4)all the wealth of the nation belonging to the whole (that part comes straight from Socialism). There are a fwe other points to it, but those are the biggest ones that really define Communism. The book may have been called the Communist Manifesto, but this ideal state of "Communism" has never actually been defined, and is still open to interpretation by many philosophers and historians. The people who followed Marx's work are Marxists, not Communists. In fact, there's a very clear distinction between the Marxists in early-20th century Russia who wanted to set up a bourgeoise state to follow the process Marx describes, and Leninists who wanted the St. Petersburg Soviet to seize power.
  9. Er, we're not exactly going to be waging war over fossil fuels any time soon, or ever, especially with all the amount that's left buried in the ground, but too expensive currently to get out [ex]. Er... I'm sorry. What's Iraq full of again? Oh no, we went in there to 'liberate' them. My mistake... The whole issue about the documentary is irrelevent. Al Gore wasn't the one who made it part of the curriculum (which is what happened here). I think Al Gore deserves merit for being one of about two politicians (the other being Arnold Schwarzenegger) actually making a stand against Global Warming, despite being ruled by a President which still denies its existance on religious grounds.

A counter-phobic response, saying that it makes no difference if China does become a world superpower because America is so technologically-advanced, is frankly irrelevant. It makes no difference how many nukes you have or how powerful your army is... the point is you either have to cooperate with 'evil Communist China', or your economy's gonna get hurt in one way or another. As a wise man one said, "Banking establishments are more powerful than standing armies". You do all realise Russia and China are starting to form connections with each other as well? Both oppose the American-style attitude of, "We're the only world superpower, so we'll do whatever the Hell we like". In fact, there was an incident in Eastern Europe a few months ago, where the Americans were planning on building a missile silo for defensive purposes on former Soviet grounds, which caused Putin to tell the country involved they either went with the Americans and lost the support of Russia, or turned round to the Americans and told them, "No, you're not setting up bases in our country". China and Russia recently worked together to eliminate rebel elements on their border, causing speculation about a possible Chinese-Russian Pact. The point I'm making is that China is hardly the inferior, backward mongrol country you make it out to be. What's more, it's pretty clear China as a lot of allies in its stance against what it sees as American imperialism. So, no, America isn't impervious to China.
  11. That's strange... because I was under the impression that Communism has never actually been defined. :-k The fact is America is a typically right-wing capitalist country, controlled by the bourgeoisie. Twenty years ago, it was in a war of idelogies with a 'Communist' country. Its main economic rival, China, has a history of communism, and is still controlled by a supposedly 'Communist' party. For the past 50 years, it's had a trade embargo with Fidel's communist Cuba. America has always, to some extent, hated socialist or communist ideology. Even its 'left-wing' party (the Democrats) would be regarded right-wing in any other nation. As for the issue, it's not just America that seemingly has a problem. The amount of times here in Britain (with a socialist Prime Minister) I've had to explain that Stalinism isn't even close to my views as a socialist is appaling. The word 'socialist' is still flung around by the Tories as an insult, and something you shouldn't be proud of being. It annoys me to no end. -.- BTW, dsavi, the very fact Finland is in the capitalism-driven EU would tell me Finland isn't a socialist country. It's just more left-wing than most. Unless the proletariat actually owns the means of production in a country, a country cannot be regarded 'socialist'.
  12. Just because there's one factor that has absolutely nothing to do with us doesn't mean the problem altogether has nothing to do with us. It's just one of many factors contributing to global warming - there's no doubting human activity has a contribution to global warming. Thus, it is our problem.
  13. You're missing the point completely. Some RS players don't go on RS to be in a permanant state of competition with the rest of the RS world. Therefore, they don't rate themselves on whether they can defeat a PKer, or in your case, the Mithril Dragon. They simply play this game for contentment. Those skillers who do want to be in competition only want to be in competition with other skillers. They realise comparing a combater to a skiller is like comparing chalk and cheese - it's just futile.
  14. I'm moving this to the Forum Discussion board. This board is for corrections to the main website. :)
  15. Many thanks, I've noted all these drops down. :)
  16. No... the reason you got arrested was because you had an imitation firearm, as I'm sure the policeman would have pointed out. The fact it was in an 'asian area' has nothing to do with it, unless you're seriously saying asians are more lilely to phone the police than anyone else?
  17. The PAL version of Paper Mario for the Wii wasn't even translated. It uses words like "defense" and "realize". Handy how they closed the official forums before this little nugget of information though, ey? Then again, my birthday's in mid-March... :-k
  18. I am actually most with Baron here. Unfortunetely for you, I seem to be a bit more right-wing when it comes to this issue. So let me ask you a question. Why is it you're so bothered about this? BB guns haven't been banned outright, as you've admitted yourself. They're just no longer allowed to look like real firearms, and in anticipation of the new legislation, toy gun manufacturers have seemingly already issued clear BB guns. In short, you can still use a BB gun. Nothing, except the looks of the gun, has changed. So what exactly is so wrong with this legislation, and how is whatever you've lost more important than the police being able to tell the difference between a real firearm and a false one? Yes... tasers are starting to come into usage, but are only taken out on the streets in extreme circumstances. Your typical 'bobby on the beat' wouldn't actually have a taser, much like they don't have truncheons. Our police has always had a reputation of not taking weapons with them onto the street, since their only aim is to maintain the peace. So, the introduction of tasers into the police force simply isn't a practical solution to dealing with this issue. Also, I think you're getting too obsessed with physical pain. Noone here is making any reference to the psychological or mental pain, or the intimidation to the victim, that can be incurred as a result of having a projectile shot at them.
  19. That doesn't change the fact they look like real firearms. For all the policeman challenging the gun holder knows, it is a real gun. As most of our police don't have guns, it would be sending them into unknown territory.
  20. Don't make me laugh. The introduction of this law has nothing to do with the tragic murder of Reese Jones. Do you know anything about our legislative system? Firstly, a bill is drawn up by the governement. It then has to be passed by a majority of the House of Commons. It then has to go through the Lords, at which point it can be turned back to the Commons asking for amendments. Once those amendments are added/altered, it's sent back to the Lords to see if they agree with the amended version. Only when the Lords approves the bill does it become law. This process takes months, not five weeks. Also, unlike an American presidential-style system, the government cannot force the bill through, except for a exception where you can force a bill through the Lords so long as a certain percentage of the Commons votes in favour of the bill. Therefore, the fact the majority of the Commons supports the bill would hint at two things; 1) There is reason to the bill. Even the Conservatives and Lib Dems would likely have voted in favour, or the voting would have been close, which clearly isn't the case. 2) The majority of MPs voted for it, so according to our system of representation, the majority of the country would likely aree with it. There's so many half truths in this title post, it's untrue. the reasoning behind this law is that BB guns are designed to look exactly like real guns. Therefore, this makes work for police on patrols incredibly hard. I hardly call making work easier for the police 'unfair'. Also, as you've said, clear guns can still be used. So they haven't completely banned them. What exactly have you lost out on then? Finally, I actually had an air rifled fired at my house's window last year. If it's powerful enough to break through a single pane of glass, I'm sure it would have no problem killing a person, or at least severaly damaging them, if fired in the vitals.
  21. The only experience of steroids I have is when I had to have some for my asthma when it started flaring up real bad about two months ago. So, in medical terms, yes they can be very useful. Too much is obviously dangerous though, I think (don't hold me to it, not done any research or anything) because they overstimulate cells in the brain and cause damage through osmotic pressure. In terms of sporting, well if you needed steroids to deal with an illness, surely you shouldn't be in a fit state to compete anyway? Otherwise, it's cheating, and is rightfully being clamped down on in all sports.
  22. Oh... surprise surprise, released dates announced for Japan and America, yet we in Europe have to wait a few months until we got any info. Typical Nintendo...
  23. This is what happens when you put pubescent testosterone-drvien teenages in a place of surpreme "power" with no responsibility or accountability for their actions. I personally have gotten myself in many a scrap with people like this. No more so than at the Duel Arena. In some cases, I even defeated them. What's the response I get though? After all the crap they've poured out of their mouths about how because my total level is high in comparison to most accounts my combat level, I must obviously be inept at combat? "luky hits nub". When defeaten in battle, unless the other person has been a right (holds self back)... idiot, I always congratulate the other person and say, "GF". It's a mark of honour. I do it when I play on my Nintendo DS online through online communities such as pokemon.marriland. You both have entered an honourable contest with each other, respect should be shown by both sides in a gentlemanly conduct. Yet RS, and TBH, the whole of the online gaming world, is full of these prats who think it's acceptable to intimidate others into challenging them, and then to have a strop whenever someone defeats them, be it in the game or in an argument. It's absolutely ridiculous, yet it seems, nothing can be done about it. I personally think Jagex should make honour a much more integrated part of the combat system though. Maybe create rewards for merciful behaviour shown in battle, for instance, allowing someone to heal when their HP runs low gives you, say, 5 prayer points. Something like that. Because you're right Saru. The gaming world has a problem when it comes to these types.
  24. I'd have thought it obvious my name in fact stems from two places. 'Ginger' must surely be quite self-explanatory. Yes, I have black hair... honest :? 'Warrior' comes from my support for my favourite sporting team, the Wigan Warriors. Except now they've got a new owner, rumours are flying everywhere that will return to just Wigan RFC, which kinda makes my name pointless. As well as some guy on RS I met called w1g4nw4rr10r. Poor guy... poor, poor guy. :-k
  25. That timestamp thing goes for several of the hidden boards. Confirmed on both counts, it's been happening for a few days now. *Shrugs* You learn something new everyday. I'm no longer receiving these messages. :)
