  1. Thanks for clearing that up. I've harvested all the information possible out of this thread and added it to the monster entries, which for the moment are hidden from public view. Be sure to check them out when they get released later on. I'll take it there's nothing more for this thread to do, so I'll lock it. If anyone has any information or any queries, shoot me a PM. :) Thanks Jard! Again. Locked ~Ginger Warrior
  2. Excellent information. I need information about the monsters' locations before I can actually make them public though, something a little more than, "From the Back to my Roots" quest. If someone could actually give me the name of the place they're found in, I'd be a very happy man. Also, are the monsters aggressive? Can they be fought after the quest? :) Hope you don't mind, but I just added hide tags to your profiles. Just keeps the page tidy for those with small screens.
  3. No person is a complete individual. There are people that can go through life near enough on their own, but even they seek someone to be loved and accepted by. Therefore, while it's important we express our own individuality, we have to remember there's always someone who shows similar attributes to us. I personally don't feel a need to hang out in a group of a set code of traditions and morals, or a particular way of behaving or acting, but I still talk and get along with people similar to me. As for the matter in hand, they're just comfort groups. Hanging around people who call themselves the same as you brings out a feeling of acceptance. It's not that different to going on RuneScape and saying you're proud of being a member of Tip.It or RuneHQ - it's a demonstration of pride and of acceptance into a group.
  4. Have patience, my young padawan. Impatience leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads... you get the picture. :P OK, thanks for clearing that up. I'll work on getting those monsters updated then. :)
  5. Aww someone beat me to it!
  6. I've also received this message. The post still gets posted, but the screen after shows that message. :? Also, our Crew board seems to have a time delay. It says the last post was me yesterday morning but there's been a few since then...
  7. Is there any real reason you're making your posts look like Wikipedia? I must have missed something. :P I'm feeling OKish... not great but not exactly depressed. Bored more than anything... Welcome to the club. Happy birthday! :
  8. "Survival of the fittest" is actually a reference to evolution. In other words, the species most responsive and adaptable to changes in their environment will survive; those who are not responsive will perish. It doesn't merely mean humans are born with an instinct to survive.
  9. No... I don't really want people knowing what I'm looking at on the forums thanks.
  10. I think it's how the person thinks about something. Take someone who goes by their gut instinct, and doesn't particularly think things through, then they'll genereally have a high self-esteem, confident in the fact what they feel is right is the best thing to do. Take another person who thinks more deeply with their mind, however, and you may find they're much more analytical and thoughtful about what other people think of them. They start to question the motives of those around them, and whether or not people actually like who they are. They think about faults inside themselves or how they could be better, which brings doubt to their mind. Basically, such people think more intrinsically, and this casts doubt over what would otherwise be a simple problem. The reason some people start to lower in self-esteem as they grow older is because the way we think is developed as we grow up. Therefore, when we grow up, we start to think more about stuff like this. That's what personal experience teaches me about self-esteem anyway.
  11. This is an intersting article. The best one we've had for a while I'm pleased to say. :) However, there is a key flaw in the whole PKing clan thing. Surely, a PKing clan is an example of a group of players actually doing both? They are in direct competition with another clan, whilst at the same time, being cooperative towards each other. That runs completely counter to what The Editor says about players leaning heavily to either side. Apart from that incongruence, a really good article. I've actually been hoping the Wii would provide us with this kind of option again. I know certain games on the XBox allow you to form clans and battle each other, but that's been lacking on the Wii. I'm hoping one of Nintendo's more allied companies, like Namco or Hudson, will develop a game which incorporates that cooperative team-based element, as well as a direct competition element on Nintendo Wi-Fi connection. I'm thinking more of a Tales of Symphonia-style thing across the Internet. :D Great read.
  12. i dont do combat :D i have been reported for macroing for many many times but as i havent macroed i wont get banned ^_^ but thanks anyways =D Stranger things have happened with them TBH, you should know that for your "sarcasm"... :-w Good luck with your goals! I was gonna go for 99 Fishing but then I kinda got bored of RS in general so that's flown out of the window.
  13. Added. Thanks. :) Locked ~Ginger Warrior
  14. Is there actually any proof of this? As in, what I can actually see with my own eyes? :? It's just that, if you've counted it up, for all I know, you've miscounted and the information we have is the correct info. So, I'm a bit reluctant to add this information without proof to say the information we have is wrong, if I'm perfectly honest.
  15. I'll note this down for future reference. If someone else says something along those lines, then I'll happily add the new info on. With the constant inflation of the RS economy, it wouldn't surprise me if Jagex do increase the gold dropped by their popular monsters from time to time. Thanks for the tip-off. If someone else wants to actually confirm this now, PM me. :) I'll regard this issue as dealt with for now, so I'll lock up. EDIT: I've found further confirmation, so I've added this information into the entry Locked ~Ginger Warrior
  16. That seems like solid enough proof for me. Added to the entry. If you want, you could try killing ankous of the other two levels and see if they drop the battlestaff too... :-k Until such a day though, I'll lock this thread since it's been dealt with. Thanks for the help! :D Locked ~Ginger Warrior
  17. Time to remember not to be so cheeky. :) If someone else could confirm this as a drop, or you could post a proof pic or something like that, then that would be greatly appreciated. The information sounds credible, but I need more than just one person (trustworthy or not) telling me without any real proof. I'll make a note you've told us this first though, so if it does turn out to be a drop, you'll be credited, don't worry. I'll leave this topic open in case someone wants to post further proof.
  18. That CO2 question is ridiculous. In terms of human existance yes they are at record levels... -.- 8/10 though. The first question's debatable anyway; even I admit that as a supporter of action against global warming. TBH, this is a really weak quiz. :?
  19. Can I ask what the necessity behind that was? If (s)he wants to call him/herself that, fine. Surely, anyone that should be respected in a debate should see through any mask being put up by the user, and focus on their actual argument anyway. :? Because fake accounts are annoying, you [cabbage]. To you maybe. I personally couldn't care less what people on these forums call themselves. I'll judge people for what they post here. There's just no need for this flaming, even if what they're doing is against forum rules. This is where you are wrong though. Creatures aren't born with a natural instinct to look out for number one. A worker bee, for example, would more willingly starve itself to death if it meant that its Queen didn't, and it was for the greater good of its colony. In fact, the Native Americans living in the Great Plains are proof against your statement. If a member of the tribe became too old or frail to keep up with the rest of the tribe, then that person would volunteer themselves to be left behind so thet rest of the tribe wouldn't be hindered. Both of these examples show how creatures are born with a natural instinct to maintain the wellbeing of their species, not merely themselves. It just so happens what would be beneficial for the former is also usually beneficial for the latter. And you'd know that how? Are you seriously telling me you know my exact thoughts based on what you've read by me on here? Just because the majority see one viewpoint doesn't mean every person is more likely to follow that viewpoint. TBH, I really don't know what I'd do. It's an extreme circumstance I can honestly say I've never really thought about. I know for certain I wouldn't be completely apathetic though. While I wouldn't challenge the man, I'd probably make sure I got a good image of him so I could report him later on and give a good profile. I'm slightly distrustful of that poll if those were the only two choices presented to the respondants, since there's plenty more choices out there. A completely unrelated question, but I'd have thought the answer would be quite obvious. Nor does it disprove my viewpoint. Of course the counter would be, "Why doesn't the dispenser steal those medicines in case he ever gets the same illness so he can live longer?". Surely if we're all born with this instinct to survive, the dispenser would have serious questions about giving him those resources in the first place, if it meant he might not be able to use them later. Well, I suppose 50p would be its equivalent here, but yes I would. As I've actually done many a time. Otherwise, it's called stealing, since the man hasn't actually given that money away. The law actually agrees with me, certainly in the U.K. and I would suspect the U.S. too.

 My word... I'm sorry to hear that. Can't say I'd noticed but I'm a busy guy, so... Hope you get better soon though. Is it permanent damage then, or will it slowly heal over time?
  21. Can I ask what the necessity behind that was? If (s)he wants to call him/herself that, fine. Surely, anyone that should be respected in a debate should see through any mask being put up by the user, and focus on their actual argument anyway. :? Well, that whole quote of mine in your post should have been in quote tags, not img tags. We can carry on with this pedanticalness if you want, or one of the two of us could desist. I personally would rather take the latter. Stop trying to link a biological need for survival to an ethical discussion. Even as a person who studies biology, I'd be pretty farfetched to say that a need for survival has anything to do with being evil or not. Would you regard an action a lion, for example, takes to be evil or not, merely because of its need for survival? You know full humans can think beyond a simple thought pattern of survival or not. The two are completely unrelated. Which brings me to your next flaw. If you don't believe me, think about euthanasia or suicide. Surely, a human even considering either of those two actions would be against this "need for survival". Therefore, you're actually wrong in saying the bolded part. Humans have a unique ability to think beyond the need for survival, hence we have subjects such ethics and philosophy, and debates like this over whether something is deemed as evil or not. Aside from all this, you're wrong anyway. Animals are born with an instinct to maintain their species, not merely their own life. In the case of a spider, for example, the male is eaten by the female after mating to provide proteins and other nutrients for the female to produce and develop her eggs. This runs counter to your statement. How so? Our personalities define who we are and what we perceive as 'right' in this world. Therefore, I'd have thought it would make sense to look at the way someone acts and behaves, and the way they think, to understand if their actions are out of spite (i.e., evil), or not.
  22. IMHO, the definition of 'evil' doesn't lie in the actions we do, but in the psychology and mentality behind those actions. Evil is an adjective, not a verb after all. On the whole issue of inheritance, I half see where that would be true. There is no way genetically you can be inherently evil, considering DNA actually only codes proteins in the body, not our personalities or fixations. I think that's an example of people assuming 'inheritance' = 'DNA', which is complete rubbish. Psychological inheritance though? Yes, I can see where that can fit in. At the moment at college, I'm going over something called the Enneagram of Personality. It basically states that our personalities can explain the thoughts and the mentality behind our actions, and that these personalities are based on our childhood experiences. So considering the vast part of our childhood is spent with our family, and our experiences shared with our parents, it's easy to see that if you had a parent who acted in this hypothetical 'evil' way, then you may also grow up to show some 'evil' traits. In regards to what evil actually is, I regard an evil action as an action taken by a person, not to make themselves or the person they are taking action against (be it inadvertently or not) feel better, but purely to afflict the other person. It's a kind of balance. If I took action against someone (i.e., afflicted them) in the belief what I was doing was actually making their life, or the relationship between the two of us, better in the long-term, then I wouldn't regard that as evil. I'm a consequentialist, so it only seems logical I take that viewpoint on what I define evil as.
  23. I'm going through them now, about half way through. There are a few errors with levels in the map itself which might be a bit of a problem since editing an image is obviously a lot harder than editing text. :?
  24. We were kinda waiting on the Pest Control Guide to contain the levels of all the new monsters, but that was never added to the new guide. I think it was a case of them watching us watching them with hindsight lol. One of us should have taken initiative. I'll look through that list, and your guide, and varify each monster though, and add as needed. I presume the order of levels is still the same with the colours aren't they? Like, the weakest two Shifters are still green and red?
  25. Listening to my music when studying? Definitely a bad thing. My recent grades confirm this. Listening to music while going through stuff for Tip.It? Definitely a good thing. Stops me getting bored too easily. I guess it just depends on what you're doing. When I'm talking to someone, I can't listen to music. I can't focus on talking and listening. When learning, I can't listen to music. But when actually doing work which doesn't require so much concentration? I find it's uplifting.
