  1. Wow, so that yellow arrow's where my membership money goes... :-k [hide][/hide] That is one unusally big, important-looking car. I was expecting more of a castle with a moat around it too. At least give us some towers to look at! Not some horrid grey office estate thing by the looks of it.
  2. Jagex must have tweeked the experience points provided then, because those figures were taken from the RS KB and several implings were checked for reliability and were correct. Could you provide us with a sample though? I mean, some actions in the game provide tenths or hundreths of experience points, for example, cleaning a marrentil provides 3.75 experience, meaning you'd get a pattern like this: 3,3,3,4,3,3,3,4,3,3... See my point? If you could provide at least 5 values for experience points gained through catching the implings (preferably 10), then we can work it out from there. :)
  3. Define 'evil'. It's very much dependant on a person's personality and faith what they deem as 'evil'. You're getting into too much of a general topic here.
  4. Oh, you mean, sportsmanship? You know, that exists in every other sport apart from football it seems. I'd hardly call it "all these sporting gestures either". A few exceptions to a rule don't make a trend, and the Forest thing was done under incredibly extreme circumstances. Cheating in the form of diving and melodrama is so rampent in football, it's almost seen as acceptable. Then you expect the same fans watching that to follow ground rules? You can hardly say there are effective moves to eradicate bullying of the referee either, when you still see John Terry physically trying to stop the referee sending his teammate off in the United game. There is only one way you are ever going to get rid of idiotic fans. Ban them. Because it is actually noticeable trend. In Rugby League, a player gets injured, we applaud them and clap them off the pitch, regardless of their alligence to whatever team. We actually shun fans like St. Helens have, who are there simply to aggrovate the other team, not get behind their own. In general, our fans are more tolerant, and there's only ever been one incident of crowd trouble in our entire history. Hey presto, it was the Hull derby. Noticeable how Hull doesn't have a particularly big football team, so I wonder where all those fans go? Face it, idiotic fans have become a part of football. If you took every idtiotic fan out of football, there wouldn't be anywhere as many left as before. It's not in any club's interest to get rid of these fans.
  5. Only people who concentrate far too much on their defence stats care about the Dragon Square. It's far easier to gain a high defence stat through about four or five pieces of armour than it is to gain a high attack/strength stat through one weapon. Therefore, many people decide to sacrifice one of their armour spots for an attack promoting shield - i.e. the rune defender, the obby shield or a two-handed Barrows weapon or Dragon halberd or two-hander. When you have Dharrock's with as higher stats as they have, there's just no need for a Dragon Square compared to the need to increase attack stats, so the demand falls, and prices drop. Many people also take the attitude of, "Well, having as high a defence stat as possible is wise, but surely if you can kill the opponent quicker than they can kill you, you'll win anyway?". It's the old attack vs. defence argument. The Dragon fire shield was just the final nail in the coffin for it.
  6. So something that the U.S. Congress decides affects me in Britain does it now? I think not... Surely, the Internet is already taxed through VAT on a phone bill anyway...
  7. OR... we could just report such posts and have a mod deal with them. There's really no need for these restrictions IMHO. It's making a mountain out of a molehill.
  8. They're not half as bad as Andy Grey on Sky Sports... Chelsea score a goal, it's the best thing to happen in the game since the mass media. United score a goal, it's alright. Not good, not bad. In fact, I seem to remember him saying during the Chelsea vs. Man Utd match that the scoreline wasn't representative of the flow of the game. Well, considering Chelsea has three chances overall, none on target (Van der Saar didn't even touch the ball all match apart from goal kicks), I'd say that's a whole load of cobblers if you ask me. I've heard worse as well. During a rugby union match between France and some other country, the English commentator, on commenting about an injured French player, said, "He's French, what do I care?". This was on the BBC too. My jaw dropped when I heard that. I know for one that in league that would never be tollerated. So there's bias all around mate. Trust me, Aussie and American commentors are so much better. It's actual commentary, not sensationalism.
  9. Nah i wont. why should i feel any sympathy for that [puncture]? she cant even look after her own kids! Clearly, neither could the McCanns, but they got a whole four months of foreign police time and international press coverage. I really see no difference between neglegence of a child and merely being around them while on drugs. Both can have tragic consequences for the child(ren). Now, I can't say I particularly support the McCanns or like the way they've gone about the disappearence of Madeleine, in fact I'm probably their biggest critic. But I do at least feel sympathetic for the fact they've lost their daughter. Likewise, I can't support or condone the way Britney is right now, but I have sympathy for the fact she's just been divorced and had her children taken off her. She's been through one of the most publicised divorce cases ever. Considering the stress she's been put under from since she was a teenager, the way she is is understandable. The amount of money or fame she's received in the past is frankly regardless in my eyes.
  10. All music to some extent is emotional. Therefore, by most people in this thread's logic, all music is "emo". Your logic falls dead here. I've never particularly liked the Spears family. As far as I'm concerned, they're not much different to Paris in the sense her Dad just basically bought her a career and fame. However, I do feel sorry for her. This reminds me of Micheal Jackson actually. He also had his teenage years taken away from him to pursue his career just as Britney did, and we see in both cases that if you don't let a teenager be wild and free when they're at that age, it can have serious psychological problems later on in life. Comments like this actually scare me. You wish someone you've never known, know anything about, never met or understood emotionally or psychologically to be suicidal? Are you jealous or something? Seriously, what on Earth has she done for someone to wish death on her?
  11. In my experience (which is unregretably very limited, I asure you), speculation threads tend to derive from a continuation in an already existant story line, such as the ME storyline, or the Myreque storyline etc.. These threads tend to evolve into more of a discussion about the storyline rather than the theory itself, and so it becomes a thread worth participating in. Therefore, I can't see a necessity to make a new sub-board for it. It deserves to be in the main General RS board. Badly researched or purely hypothetical threads are usually shunned by the Tip.It community and locked by a passing mod in no time at all.
  12. Because we're not suitable to be mods. To an extent, you have to have a certain confidence that you know you're right in writing what you write on the main site to be a Crewbie. Call that arrogance if you want, but mods tend to be more open-minded than that. Also, our role isn't on Tip.It forums. We just use Tip.It forums to gather information. Our job is on the main site. Therefore, being a respected member of the community isn't as important as the actual skills we possess. Finally, many already feel we have too much power already. I could hypothetically speaking on onto mIRC now and kick off all the users which don't have a rank. Of course, I won't, but that seems a lot of power for someone to have, especially when mIRC has nothing to do with our work in the first place. Many on Tip.It would feel giving us mod powers on the forums (apart from on the boards we actually need to have them) would be inappropriate because it gives us too much power. So that's why Crewbies don't have mod powers. Frankly, I don't believe we should be expected to moderate the forums either. It's not that I don't want to help, it's just that I have enough work to do as it is.
  13. OMG! I had that very colour! I loooovvvveeesss the GB! =P~ And a lot of Lego, plus a bit of KNex. :D I just wanna dig it all up again and build a house or something now! :anxious:
  14. Not a specific game, just something that interests me. I am a member of Nintendo of Europe and did actually participate regularly on their forums, so this news came as somewhat of a shock to me. For those who have no idea what I'm on about: Nintendo of America: http://forums.nintendo.com/ Nintendo of Europe (GB): http://www.nintendo-europe.com/NOE/en/G ... jrUen3iiWh It seems strange to me that both Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe, neither of which have particulary been close to each other in the past, would close down their four-year-running success of a forums at the same time. Neither of the two were in trouble. Europe had a security fear, but the forums themselves were healthy and running. In fact, they spent loads last year installing new features after a load of us whined because the American ones were ten times better. So the fact that just a year after they've done that, they decide to close them altogether strikes me coordinated from the top somewhere. I'm just wondering what they mean by, "new features". The NSider forums go further to suggest that the continuing success of the DS and Wii may have something to do with their decision. Put 2 + 2 together, and that points to Nintendo bringing new features out which incorporate online play properly. This is a complete U-turn to the attitude two years ago, which is that gamers on Wi-Fi should have no communication whatsoever. What do you guys think? I'm personally hopeful Nintendo are eventually getting themselves round to organising some decent online play instead of making us do it for them! :)
  15. Hmm... time for a little bias here. I'll go with Andy Farrell and Jason Robinson. Not that I've actually seen them play in this world cup, but Andy is a League legend. Fact. :D As for Robinson? I'll leave others to work out the pattern in my choices.
  16. This statement is just moronic. Yes, of course Japan has a different set of beliefs than the Western World. Why on Earth would they make any reference to God or to Jesus? As said by Sworddude, I have a feeling this person is of some monotheist religion and has ulterior motives in playing down Buddhism and Shintoism. The quote in the above post also sums this up completely from me. I had little respect for this author the moment he called Buddhism "primative", especially in regards to what's happened in Burma the past couple of weeks. TBH, I've seen more realistic claims by the BNP, and that really is saying something.
  17. Hmm... Lucas Is it just me who seems to think this is just another version of Ness, only by the looks of things, a little bit stronger? Looks kinda useless anyway. :?
  18. Gah, last night against the Saints. That penalty about 15 minutes from the end really cost you. Rugby League: Wigan Warriors (hence the username) Football: Manchester United
  19. We appreciate your willingness to help us, but bumping doesn't ge the submission dealt with any faster. Now, I've looked at that image in more detail, and it's not actually on a transparent background. When I have time, I'll GIMP the image to make it transparent, but until I do have that time, or unless one of the other crewbies wants to work on it, I'm afraid it'll have to wait. Thanks for helping us though. :)
  20. I'm sorry for my ignorance, but I've really no idea what this is about. What list are you refering to? :(
  21. No offense, but that is just a really wormy way of dealing with things. It's far more appropriate to do these things either on the phone or in person, never through MSN or an email. Otherwise things can get really misinterpreted and the problem inevitably gets worse through a misunderstanding.
  22. There must be a law against that somewhere! We're effectively copying their material and stealing their profits! Maybe a discussion thread could be permitted, but no way should we actually ditto their polls onto this forums. That's just disrespectful.
  23. Forgive me for being pedantic, but you're only working for about eight hours a day in most cases. So why do you divide by 24? Because you're not actually earning anything in the other 16 hours, in fact, you're doing exactly the opposite just living in a house with food, gas, water and electricity.
  24. No confirmation this will be avaliable online though, so wouldn't hold your horses on that one... :( When I saw the words "Tourny" I was like " Online? " But it didn't say anything about online, but since its pretty much the same tournament setup at Melee, it doesn't look very online-capable In my experience with Nintendo, something merely not being mentioned means it won't appear at all. Even if it was online, it would be impractical. You'd have to rely on every single entrant into the tournament being online at the same time, and since you guys are 5 hours behind me, I don't really wanna be playing at 2am thanks. ;)
  25. Yes... but in my experience those who are usually best at giving advice are usually those who actually get really bad when they need the advice. It's all very good telling someone else what to do, but when it's you that's in trouble, it's a completely different world. Things will get better though Goddess. At least you got a partner to help you though it.
