  1. First of all, you used a terrible armor combo - neither void nor bandos is good at armored zombies; proslyte is far superior. Secondly, even a single other person training there slows it down significantly, as you noticed. Thirdly, clicking on a zombie to attack, ever, is a big no no - always let auto retaliate do the work. Fourthly, 1 hour isn't a very substantial test, especially for earnings; I did 16 hours of tests with the exact same equipment, and my earnings rates per hour (sampled every hour) ranged from 92k to 346k. Finally, your stats are not quite as good as mine, continuing to explain the difference. I would recommend some more tests, as the average profit is very close to 200k per hour, but it does vary. Practice also helps somewhat; it'll help you acquire a knack for timing picking up with auto retaliate.
  2. Oh please. If you insist on posting the same thing as above posters, I will too :| Fury - OK, probably overkill for his budget Fighter torso - Please. Adamant chainbody is better. Legs - Dragon skirt is lighter and cheaper, verac's skirt is far better Dragon boots - Good Cape - Legends is cheaper with virtually the same stats Shield - Good Ring - Berserker? Not. Stick with wealth\life at your budget Dark gloves.
  3. In that case, SGS wins by far - spec the minions, and you can't use a titan while tanking. For overall PVP, SGS wins; if you want to mess around with maxing, borrow an AGS, but it's no good for the general PVP.
  4. For bandos: It's sort of a toss up, AGS spec does very little to help (as much as half a regular hit), and you don't usually need SGS too much. For random monster hunting: SGS wins. For training: SGS wins. For PVP: SGS wins, badly, in any no food fight. Do the math.
  5. Basically, a 'decent' setup (per my opinions) if you don't want barrows. But seriously, why wouldn't you? 5k repair costs per hour + super cheap initial costs for (by far) the best armor out there :|
  6. Guthans - horribly slow, useless with summon\SGS Dharoks - good for nothing whatsoever Veracs - good for... KQ? Ahrims is the one set that's actually worth using for PVP. Oh, and the melee armor = 1 best set for melee, 1 best set for mage. And ahrims is eons beyond any other mage armor.
  7. Probably not. It's unlikely that anyone would purchase it unless they were positive they wouldn't quit for a long time, losing Jagex money. Plus RS has a way of keeping people attached much longer then they plan to...
  8. If you've only been in a PVP hotspot for an hour or two, you'll get garbage drops. Stay in a hotspot for 10+ hours, and you'll get great drops anytime you kill someone with 25k+
  9. Again, wrong. I don't know what the person in the guide was doing, but he was not using optimal equipment\methods; I reliably obtain just over 100k XP\hour. Slayer was worked out for much less XP then that, as money is lost with cannoning every other task. Thus, the average profit was in the negatives for a cannon; we did, however, prove that it was not worth using. Charms are almost moot, as slayer is around 9k and zombies are 7-8k.
  10. Could be doing something =/= actually doing it. You're playing a video game, not writing code or handling a server for a million dollar company. There is no comparison. Look, I don't do million dollar companys, and 'clicking around on the computer' is clicking around on the computer to me, regardless of if I'm photoshopping a logo or leveling up attack; it's fairly easy and relaxing, I just happen to enjoy games some of the time.
  11. Wrong. This was killed a couple of pages ago. Zombies are more XP, regardless of how you measure it. On top of that, they are 190k per hour; far more then slayers (at most) ~100k per hour. That's all well and good, but I still don't see a slayer requirement. I think I see what you mean, you thought I was saying they didn't require any levels period. I was simply referring to his theory that slayer 'provides access' to specific monsters, and introduces them to get you training - I was demonstrating that slayer had nothing to do with those two monsters.
  12. Err... Then you train my recommended way, armored zombie, getting far more XP and twice the cash vs. slayer? If your referring to range, there's so many ways like Avansies (seriously, how much does d hide + 500 broad bolts + crossbow cost? I'll bet it's less then slayer tasks) to make money THEN spend it on chinchompas (you'll notice that I factor in the time it takes to earn money for my training methods). Hmm, you got me there. I guess slayer is just a "finder" skill whose only purpose is to introduce us to training areas like Avansies or things such as that. Obviously when a player would find these places, they would cease to train slayer and go after the peak training spots. Maybe slayer is like the occasional random. Too many annoy us, but one every once in a while will be much appreciated to break the monotony. To the newbie, slayer is a doorway to knowing the training map of runescape. There probably isn't any better training than Avansies, but then again, the d scimmy was beaten by the obby sword + zerker necklace, so the chance still exists. Still, slayer has no real practical reason except to break the monotony or a chance at fairly good drops like d boots, whips, or some mystic armor. Also, I've heard that slayer monsters drop "better" average clue scrolls. In my experience, this has held true, but I was most likely lucky (though I won't complain about zammy kite, zammy plate, or ranger boots \ ) If slayer counted towards one combat lvl by giving a "critical hit" chance for slayer lvls. For example, each lvl in slayer gives a .25% crit chance that increases one's max hit by 10% of their strength level and has a constant damage decrease on received damage by 15% of one's slayer level rounded up. Maybe it's overpowered, but it would give an actual, practical reason to train slayer. So, in terms of practicality, yes, slayer sucks badly. But it is also opinion, and I think it's nice to just lay back and smell the roses sometimes. Two things: #1: Clues are NOT worth doing, offering a very low profit\hour rate, making them pointless for the serious trainer #2: Neither Avansies nor Armored Zombies have anything whatsoever to do with slayer, and do not require any levels to access either of them. :|

  14. Any word on the phoenix's fighting or special abilities?
  15. The fact that you priced your time at 40$/hour because you can make that at a computer job is ridiculous. Its like saying you worked at Mcdonalds, but because you could make 40$/hour at another job, you think your time at a crappy job is equivalently important. Dumb. Back on topic, as crazy as it sounds, I would have a hard time dropping this account for anything less than 2500$ (hypothetically of course, no one would pay that). Even then, I *think* I would still regret letting it go. It may just be a stupid game, but it's given me a lot of enjoyment over the years. And what's wrong with that? If your wasting time at mcdonalds when you could just as easily be doing the same thing for 40$, your wasting the difference of your wages.

FTP magers do very well against FTP meleers of their level. The problem is that mage maxes out at level 60, where a meleer would have 45-45 combat stats; a fair fight for the mage. However, against 100+ players, they obviously fail. They could use a few higher level spells.
  17. I'm not sure that's the best idea. The key is to quit, but on a boring note - if you have a great time with friend PKing or something then quit the next day, you'll keep thinking of how fun it is and how much you want to do that again. If you do something really boring, say, grind fletching for 10 hours, waste the day, feel like you didn't accomplish anything, and THEN quit, you won't even miss the game.
  18. You need to stop playing. I don't mean cutting back, reducing, limiting hours etc., I mean STOP. Your at an important time in life, don't waste it on an online game. Block the RS website in every way you can, change your password to random letters and numbers and give it to your parents on a slip of paper after canceling your recovery questions with orders not to let you have it until the end of the school year. Seriously. It'll be hard at first, but pretty soon you won't even miss it. When your bored you can start to play it a bit eventually, but don't let it suck you in again.
  19. In 2008 Jagex CEO Geoff Iddison stated that RuneScape "will be the main investment focus for Jagex for the next five years". http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7090490.stm Of course, it is a widely known fact that that business leaders never contradict themselves. Do me a favor and look at the dates in the article. Later on in the year he extends it to 10 years.
  20. It hasn't gotten nerfed. It's not that insanely overpowered, and it's not the savior of PVP. It's another specing weapon, slightly better then the AGS; reasonably accurate, pretty fast, but by no means miraculous. It can be avoided pretty easily, and it's very difficult to 2 hit someone.

  22. No, that was NOT MAGIC BASED. Did you even see what it looked like? Those smaller shapes are its ranged attack, the big shape is its magic attack. When it hit me, it didn't hit for health, because of the protect from range. I don't care how much you can run around trees to dodge revs, they are still overpowered in F2P. If I wanted to engage a rev, and fight it, like I would have any other PKer, here is why I'm at a disadvantage. 1.The most any F2Per could hit at a distance is 18. Not 30. 2.F2P PKers cannot bind AND hit damage at once. 3.F2P PKers cannot team all at once in a single combat zone. 4.F2P PKers cannot use the entire combat triangle. If they did, there would be no room for food, or they wouldn't have any armour. 5.F2P PKers cannot teleblock. 6.F2P PKers drop all but one of their things. If I wanted to run away from a rev, like I would have any level 126, here is why I'm at a disadvantage. 1.F2P PKers cannot magically run through doors 2.F2P PKers cannot disappear and reappear across natural barriers 3.F2P PKers cannot prevent you from logging out before they've even hit 4.F2P PKers cannot bind and hit at the same time. 5.F2P PKers are stopped by aggressive NPCs in single way combat. 6.F2P PKers are much fewer in "dead" worlds - with 500 or less people. Not so with revs. Bah. It was their magic based stun. 1. Would you stop prattaling about the 'distance' garbage? A pker can bind + jump, freezing and hitting you as soon as you see him. 2. Actually, they can, just not very high; not that it matters, a 126 is both more accurate, higher hitting, and more intelligent then a revernant. 3. Point being? Reverants rarely show up; in low level wilderness teams are very rare, yet PKers can hide in multi combat and kill you in 1 hit the sceond they see you. 4. Erm what? Rune scimmy + mage robes\runes = 2\3rds the combat triangle, and all they need to easily kill you; a bow in the inventory would allow ranging, not that it matters. 5. Yep, FTP pkers cannot teleblock. Then again, running behind a tree has all the advantages of teleporting... 6. So what? I doubt your going to PK a pker with your roon pickaxe of doom. As for the 'great list of things that reverants, I need only two points to counter it: #1, PKers CAN see you when you hide behind a tree or other obstacle. #2, PKers CAN run, meaning that running out of their immediate sight won't guarantee instant safety.
  23. Right, but that's not an attack from far. Plus, they'd only hit up to 26/27 with a scimitar. 32/33 with a 2h, but then they wouldn't be able to hit so fast. Point being that if Rev's are going to replace F2P pkers, they should be able to hit like a f2p pker. Also, I could run to the aggressive spiders, and stop hitting back... Then, the 126 would have to deal with a spider instead, and in that time I could get enough distance, and log out. They can keep you bound, and at your 51 defence those 26/27s with a fast scimitar (MUCH faster then reverants), they can hit you for much more damage per minute then a reverant will; plus, they're an actual intelligent person, not a monster that doesn't know how to walk around a tree.
  24. If your in the wilderness 'not realy prepared to meet them', that's your fault; d hide + range prayer = easy avoidance. That was obvious; as I said, you were being frozen for only a few seconds by the reverant's magic-based stun (hence why you were being hit). Oh please. A 126 can take you and your 51 defence down in seconds. One bind, then melee with a scimmy; you don't stand a chance. Reverants aren't going to hit you 3 times; they can't hit from off the screen in rune mining, and the fact that they can only walk means that running behind a tree on sight loses them.
