  1. Rotate your camera view to spiders so you can see anything coming from that direction. I've been by the rune area quite a bit, and I rarely see ones there.
  2. "not everyone needs to hit more often"? When, perchance, do you not want to hit more often? The one thing DFS can be used for is metal dragons. The 'tiny amount of extra food'? It costs me 3.2k an hour to repair my barrows chest, roughly 2 tuna potatoes. 3.2k an hour is virtually nothing when fighting, and that's for STEADY combat - something monster hunting is not. with piety, 99 attack and a zamorak brew, i think i hit often enough that i don't need a +19 slash bonus to hit. With piety, 98 attack, a super attack potion, and +20% attack from salve (e), I don't hit 100.00% of the time. Therefore, +19 slash is very helpful to me. Unless you miss less then 1/20th of the time, (which is a massive amount, if you think about it), defender is better - and I don't hit 19 out of 20 times on any monster level 50+, and certainly not any slayer monsters.
  3. *sigh* Mage maxes 62, I've frequently hit 50+ with mage, I don't know why people can't wrap their minds around that. Max hits don't rule all, but mage does have a nice max - higher then any range hits besides dark bow spec.
  4. It's tradable, just has a lower price and harder to sell due to not many people knowing it exists - I always buy fire arrows off the GE.
  5. Alright, I'll type a paragraph in regular text, and you and me can have a contest to see who can read it faster.
  6. no im just asking why with the introduction g.e. 3rd age suddenly became so expensive and rare that u cant buy it with money anymore. It didn't, it's always been going up. It's rare armor and it looks decent, so people want it. Don't blame the GE for your problems.
  7. Get a decent firewall (windows one works great, believe it or not) and your fine. Makes it easy to get in if your not fully patched and fire walled, but does nothing whatsever if you are.
  8. 25/75k thing? pvp trick It relys on you being in a hot spot a long time, and most of what it produces isn't junk. There is no good ways of making junk faster then you could make real money.
  9. I'm not going to argue about what I don't know - if this works in F2P, then it works. This style of fleeing is not the same as it was back versus normal pkers, but whatever. In F2P, there were very few instances in which you had to worry about getting 3 hit... If you wore full rune, then whoever attacked you would splash often - if they maged you, they would only hit 16s. If they ranged you, the would only hit 18s, and would splash often as well. You would not be frozen, either. This is why revs are overpowered in F2P, whatever the context. Yes, and if you stand under an anvil in RL it can crush you in 1 hit. As for these, simply running behind a tree means you'll at most get hit once, and rarely be hit at all. Try a few tactics.
  10. Wait - your saying that it's the GEs fault that people will pay a lot of money for 3rd age?
  11. the only "tactic" you could really use is to farcast and range or crap like that. -.- And your point is...? I've already demonstrated and proven how a mager can easily take down both a ranger and meleer while taking virtually no damage, why are you still trying to argue against it? im not im stating there are no real "tactics" save farcasting. its not like you can flank or dig trenches lol. Farcasting is an art in and of itself, and with it you can easily take down any other combat style. It requires 100s of hours to master, and I'm still learning new things about it every day. What's your point?
  12. Then I'm not sure what game your playing - 2 old style PKers could easily take down a defenseless miner, prayer only protects from 40% of PVP damage but protects 100% from monsters. I'm telling you now - protect from range and run behind the nearest tree means you'll get hit ONCE at most. Try it before you knock it.
  13. Wait... When an old-style level 126 PKer attacked you, you were able to mine your rune rock like normal? Something's wrong here...
  14. Very simple. You pray range so that they can't freeze you, as their freezing attack is range based. Tell me, have you ever tried fighitng these? The second you see yourself attacked, you PRAY RANGE AND RUN TO THE TREE, getting hit once. Now your complaining that 'you don't get to mine your rune ore'? Oh yes, these evil monsters are so overpowered compared to PKers! You can't even manage to mine rune ore while your being attacked! I'm sure you could do that in the old wildy! I shall repeat: Regardless of your armor, range prayer + running for a tree will result in you getting hit MAYBE once. Inconvenient? Perhaps. But rare, as much or more so as old time PKers.
  15. But itz teh internets!
  16. Chaos tunnels, and yes - price fell a lot last time I checked, it'll be faster XP. If it doesn't work that well you can stick with broad bolts, though.
  17. the only "tactic" you could really use is to farcast and range or crap like that. -.- And your point is...? I've already demonstrated and proven how a mager can easily take down both a ranger and meleer while taking virtually no damage, why are you still trying to argue against it?
  18. Did your grave fall down before you went back the 2nd time, or was there simply no torso? If so, it's a bug or a recent 'fix' by Jagex, as my untradeable minigame items like void show up fine still...
  19. Revenants do not represent F2P Pkers. No F2Per ever hit 30+ at a distance, or even consistently hit above 20. No F2Per ever had teleblock, or a freeze for longer than 5 seconds. Any PKer would be stopped by the aggressive spiders in a single way combat. Revenants are not. Stay with us compfreak - this is f2p. No black d'hide. Just green. Most a F2Per ever hit with range was 18 - mage was 16 - and melee was a rare 33. Revenants are overpowered in F2P. Ok, feel free to argue with my point. FTP or PTP, let me know how 'overpowered' this is: #1, see yellow dot #2, put on range prayer #3, run for a tree #4, possibly get hit once for 1-25 #5, world hop What part about this in FTP is overepowered? They are lucky to get a single hit on you, so unless they start hitting 99s you have no chance whatsoever to die. FTP pkers easily hit 25+, and news flash: Revenants CANNOT freeze you when you have protect from range on. Period.
  20. That stinks. Badly. I'd advise green dragons with melee (I can get 650k profit + 200k worth of charms + 45k XP per hour there) to earn the knives for 70, then avansies. If you collect any 'junk' I'll be happy to buy it off of you, I can loan SGS out for it easily...
  21. PKing is a very small part of the game - many people 'live' happy and successful RS lives without once going PKing. For those who enjoy PVP, there's a plethora of options - Castle Wars, Clan Wars, Duel Arena, PVP worlds, Bounty Hunter and Fight Pits just to name a few. PKing, and the game in general, is FAR better then in the early days.
  22. So your saying it was easier to avoid an intelligent PKer with any armor or food then a monster you can simply pray from (100% damage protect), run behind a tree, and log? Pray protect from range and head for the nearest tree, you'd have to be stupid to die. What's the problem?
  23. You either: #1, let your traps fall down, in which case you should smack yourself soundly and go on hunting #2, experienced a glitch (VERY unlikely), in which case you should send a bug report
  24. compfreak847 replied to Lep's topic in Rants
Shouldn't this be in your ISP rant forum, not a runescape rants? :P *wahh, my computer got hit by a tornado and I missed my hilt split! I hate teh jagexors!*
  25. I was using an incorrect definition; lag is when your computer takes several seconds to relay messages to and from Jagex servers, resulting in a delayed response to anything you do in game. I've never had that happen, it's all the fault of your ISP and servers between you and Jagex. A disconnect is when some of your packets are lost or the game server hiccups, and the TCIP packet flow is interrupted, causing the game to freeze and nothing you do to have a response. I've had that happen a few times during my RS career, and it can be identified as a Jagex problem when everyone around you goes 'ugh lag'.
