Magic underpowered? Think again! ~+~+OVER-HAULED~+~+
It takes a lot of practice and some serious mouse-mashing. I'd suggest cursor sensitivity on high. http://www.cracked.com/video_16777_network-rogue-cursor.html (yeah, random I know, but it made me laugh and it's remotely related...) Wewet, your back! Someone else to field the stupid posts in H&A, I'd almost given up :P

Catch-22,Deffered Appeals.
Wait... so they won't let you appeal it until your unmuted again? If so, that's annoying, but what's the offense? The few times I've been unfairly muted I was able to quickly appeal and lift the mute...

PvP drop potential (answered, lock plz)
No. It does not reset unless you kill someone, regardless of if you die or hop.

Pictures of those TIFers! ~All NEW!~
How about trying to spot someone and post them here instead of what you just did, especially when this is like the second time I've ever seen you around these forums. To prevent myself from contradicting my post, I will post a spot here as soon as I log in at G.E. I got a spot as promised: Now I know why I don't go w99 much... I just got sniped for the first time ever :-# (by you) I need something to unspamify, I'll try to edit a snipe in here later EDIT: Got a D axe (dking gear there) an hour or so later, missed the pic though :|

Time is money - but is it in RuneScape?
Yes. It does. Something I've tried to hammer into the heads of hundreds of tip.iters, but almost no one thinks about it. Oh, and welcome to tip.it :P Try to avoid white font... certain color schemes, like mine, use a light blue background that makes white font unreadable unless it is highlighted. Just thought I'd mention

Fighter Torso Discussion/Argument Thread
To make it even simpler, the defense/accuracy doesn't make up for the very little 2 str + time lost. To make it simpler still: Adamant Chainbody > Fighter Torso Yeah, simple as that. Period. End of story. Not sure why this thread lives on.

Magic underpowered? Think again! ~+~+OVER-HAULED~+~+
Nice, it was about time :P Now I can just link to this instead of typing up a whole thing on how to fight with ancients whenever one of the 'magic sucks' threads pop up.

jagex favors melee
They aren't overpowered, and they aren't all that great. With a good slash defence you have nothing to fear; I've speced 0-1 0-1 many a time. It's easy to keep an eye out for PJers; just watch for anyone running at the angle to attack you. Tactics, not blindly attacking you opponent, is what makes magic so great.

karils is an EPIC FAIL!
Only armor with a half decent spec for PVP is Veracs, and even that is eclipsed by whip + defender. So yeah, none of the melee sets are worth using either.

Gratz, and welcome to tip.it  @ comp, could you post or pm me the quickfind code to that thread? http://forum.[Please Use QuickFind Code].ws?14,15,158,58155607 :P

Fighter Torso Discussion/Argument Thread
True. I get annoyed about 9/10ths of the posts on the average tip.it thread being garbage, or worse still, incorrect garbage.

Fighter Torso Discussion/Argument Thread
Actually, adamant chainbody. Can you afford an addy chainbody? (hint! it sells for min at under 3k!)? Good, then you just saved yourself 2m\4 hours in opportunity cost getting fighter torso Try 30k, 60k doubled. So each piece (that takes 20 minutes to get) earns you 30k extra XP, or 90k total for an hours worth of SC. 1 hour @ Armored Zombies = 100k XP + 190k profit, your paying 10k XP and 190k cash for that hour of SC.

Best weapon against Metals?
Vesta's Longsword->Leaf Bladed Spear->Dragon Longsword->Abyssal Whip D long is as good or better then whip, leaf bladed spear is much better.

Fighter Torso Discussion/Argument Thread
Tell why not... Because the barrows plate surpasses it in any area that requires defence, and proslyte top surpasses it in any place that requires offense (+10% prayer). Even at the best training spot, Armored Zombies, proslyte is actually better due to the less frequent prayer charging required. Even hypothetically assuming that we ignore the defence and prayer bonus shortcomings, torso provides roughly (120/4)*2)/100 = .6% faster XP. Assuming it takes 8 hours to learn BH, find a team, and actually get the torso (conservative; I've found that it usually takes over 10 in total time), your spending 8 hours to get .6% faster XP. Therefore, the 99.4% of full XP you would normally get from training for those 8 hours is the equivalent of 7.95 hours of training with a torso; because torso boosts XP by .6%, we can divide 7.95 by .006 for 1325 hours, the amount of training required to make torso worth getting over adamant chainbody (most monsters, including armored zombies, use a crush attack where chainbody is superior). 1325 hours = 132,500,000 XP training at Armored Zombies, along with 251,750,000 GP of profit. So, if you plan on camping for more then 132.5 million XP, torso is worth getting over adamant chainbody. Of course, proslyte plate would blow it right out of the water, and to a lesser extent, bandos - the +1 prayer would by far make up for the cost over the millions of XP, and it can be resold, unlike the figher torso. The torso is entirely unsuitable for PVP, or indeed, any activity besides training, so those need not be considered. Bottom line: Adamant Chainbody is superior to Fighter Torso unless you intend to train for over 132,500,000 XP (132.5 million) XP; if you include rune\bandos\proslyte in that order, they will all by FAR trump the torso. Any other questions? (Yet another campaign against stupidity and endless parroting of incorrect hearsay. I swear, I could keep a template of my top 10 posts, and copy and paste it into 90% of the threads I post on.)

Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!
I like how he referenced a help site in his rant. That...just made my day. Yeah.. he referenced our max hit calculator, and brilliantly concluded that the max hit of d claws was 168. Now I know it's true about the portal from the RSOF... :|

[hide=] [/hide] :twss: Oh yeahhh go stupid RSOFers making tif look good. OH YEAH Haha I loved your response too, you totally owned his thread that deserves ANOTHER :twss: [/hide] Hehe "rear occasions". Just thought I'd share that little quote...... I could insult that kids grammar more, but I think compfreak did a good enough job. I didn't even notice that one. If it weren't for that 2000 character limit I could have gone on a while about his grammar.. I had to keep it short to fit in the post. IMO it should be a 20,000 or 200,000 limit, but I digress.

Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!
I made the mistake of going to the RSOF today, and saw yet another 11 year old typing random nonsense, with a semi-readable first post, flaming anyone who disagreed with him: So I decided to type an annoyed (harsh) response: Whenever I lose faith in tip.it users, I go to the RSOF. It always makes this site look good.

Defender vs DFS...
Then you messed up your numbers, or didn't time it close\long enough. That's a 6% boost in XP, from a 8.3% boost in accuracy\.6% loss of strength - you would have to be hitting almost straight 0s with DFS. How many hours worth of standardized testing did you do? I've found variance of up to 5k per hour at Zombies with everything exactly the same; 20+ hours is required to obtain an accurate, stable number. Assuming you missed 20% (1/5th) of the time, your +8.3% accuracy would result in you hitting 1.66% more often, but .48% of your XP would be lost due to lower hits, for a total of roughly 1.19% XP gain - not 6%. The 5% statistical variance that I've noted there could easily compensate for it; how many hours of testing did you average to achieve your numbers, and to what decimal point are they accurate? Always take them at least to the 10s, if not the 1s, place. Just saying this because people who read this are likely to go around parroting 'defender is 5k more XP\hour', despite being wrong. In reality, it's closer to 1.2-1.5%.

Defender vs DFS...
Simple way to determine: If you hit less then 9 times out of 10, as you do on 'most every other monster, defender is better. To answer your question: Yes, defender is much better for armored zombies.

3,000 word Jagex Research Review (MechScape focussed)
^ Note:Above post by GaVaTi was deleted because he also quoted another post which was to a scam site. Remember: Do not enter your RuneScape login details to anywhere except RuneScape/FunOrb/Jagex/MechScape.com. There are no legitimate 'beta sites' however genuine they may look. Anyway, back to your statement. While not in my article, Iddison did also say "we've got a lot of people over 40 playing Runescape; we have whole families playing the game. We have granddads and grandmas meeting their siblings, nieces, and nephews within the game. We want to appeal to the whole. For anyone who wants to play RuneScape, there's something in there for them" (source). So yes, you are right in that they are trying to go for broad appeal with RuneScape which could mean that they don't have things which they would otherwise have - but that doesn't necessarily mean they aren't putting their best effort into it or that they don't care about the game. As with The Simpsons the game is aimed to appeal to a large audience, and it achieves this by working at many levels - but it is still the case that if you want something more mature then you'd have to go for something which isn't aiming for broad appeal (like MechScape for example). Me and toast's posts got deleted after he linked to a scam site and I quoted them (I reported it), but I'd say from the article it's obvious that Runescape is going good for them and they plan to continue developing and broadening it - as the article said, MMORPGs never really die out, and as long as it's profitable they will continue to develop it.

Closed.
Yes, it's hard to mage in fight pits, but if you have a friend with you, the two of you can easily take out everyone else in a 10- world.

Revernants still overpowered (for sure in F2P)
Not statisfying? You're ranting on the best skill-wise money maker in F2P because it's too hard. But I have to say it should be hard! I did rune mining. Wearing green d'hide, using range prayer and having some anchovie pizzas, swordfishs and junk food in your inventory is really enough to deal with them. One runite ore covers all the costs of it easily. Ok, you have to world hop if a revenant attacks you but I can live with it because mining runite is still the best skill-wise money maker. RuneScape is already easy enough. Some more challenges don't hurt! They do not hit through your prayer. If they use a range attack while you have range prayer on, you will take 0 damage. You cannot be frozen with range prayer. Take a screenshot and post it if you can, because I've had quite a few run ins with revernants and never gotten hit more then once or twice.

stealing creation or void when chinning?
Why would you say something completely wrong and opinion based in a MATHEMATICS based argument? Here's the actual math, I was hoping people could figure it out for themselves, but I guess I've got to spell it out. I should make a template, about 10 different paragraphs that could be copied and pasted into 90% of the threads on this forum instead of typing out each one. Well, here it is: 1 hour @ Avansies (600k profit, 60k XP)+ 1.33 hours @ Chinchompas (450k loss, 240k XP)= 160k XP\hour, 0 gp gain\loss. Let's say you use the tools. In 1 hour, you'll get 288k XP ((160k - 10% from void) X 2), 4.8 tools worth. Assuming you earn 3 tools per hour (22-24 points per game, with a margin of error), that 288k XP will take you 1 + 1.6 = 2.6 hours per 288k XP = 288/2.6 = 110k XP\hour. So if you REALLY like SC, and are willing to sacrifice 50k range XP\hour to play it, get the tools. If you want to get 99 range 30% faster, use void instead. And don't post opinions in a fact-based argument. People. [hide=]Apologies for sounding off like that, I get annoyed when people constantly spout wrong information based on hearsay and opinions.[/hide]

3,000 word Jagex Research Review (MechScape focussed)
I missed it from the article but the iPhone is actually mentioned by Jagex: "Identifying opportunities in existing markets and in new technologies (e.g. mobile phone, iPhone, etc) in order to augment the player base;" (source). I've updated the article to include that titbit of information :) Great! I'm planning on getting mine after the Macworld Expo, just in case the Nano rumors are true. Never know what they might update, I'd hate to buy one and have it obsolete in a week..
