Agreed that motivation and selfconfidence play a huge role in getting a 99. It actually isn't anything else. However after mastering easy kills, it might be a rather big jump to the "real" skills. For me cooking was 6th 99 skill in RS2 and fletching 8th, followed by prayer&farming few minutes later. Before those I had also gotten 1 99 level in RSC. The main thing why I could understand someone getting 99 fletching&cooking at first is the fact that trimmed cape has great stats. The levels themselves are easiest 99s and cost next to nothing.

If it was completely free, there would be no laws, only moral norms. However, we got laws (rules at these forums, general laws against stuff like child porn, warez, etc) so it's not completely free. Is it bad or not can be decided by you :P

You don't need to have those skills at 99 if you don't feel like they aren't worth your time. That still doesn't change the fact that these skills are complete jokes to level, pretty much the only capes that don't require that hard work and they are so widely seen everywhere that it's almost ridicilous. Yes, you can make them in a harder way, but the skill doesn't turn into less easy that way. (I got 99 fletch+cook)

Yes, that's one possibility how to turn farming into a more popular skill. However we should get more patches into different places and all the major cities already got patches->no point adding new ones so near to older ones. Possible spots I've been thinking of are Lletya (takes hard quests to get there plus it's easy to return via teleport crystal), Burgh de rott (getting there in some humane time takes the special transportation ways), Kharazi jungle (glider) and near fishing colony.

Edit: However I wouldn't see it as an impossible task to give us better ways to modify capes. If we for example could add different colored stripes or crosses to the cape, many flags could be created that way.

16.7.2007 So, in last few days I've been doing a bit everything but mostly nothing. Haven't done any hardcore skilling, but done a bit that and this. Same with mithril dragons, killed few but not too many. Also was pkin with RSD. This time wasn't as fun as last time, no other clans seemed to want to fight. oh well at least there's few declared wars... Gotta keep fishing for them so I won't run out of food. Today got finally 2085 total. not a big deal, but closer to 2100 than 2084. Zot Mutske has been asking me to come do some thieving for a while and today I decided I could go there to take one level.

Open your eyes. These "terrorists" aren't randomly aiming their attacks on USA or its allies. They are doing it for same reasons why Chechenyan "terrorists" are attacking against Russia. If you take closer view to the acts of USA, the only real difference between them and "terrorists" are that they have managed to mask it for something acceptable, they can control the media better and they have more money with better technology and more soldiers. For that you'd need someone else to get their satellites to fight. With the current situation best chances (or least worse) for that would be North Korea (China) vs South Korea (USA) but I wouldn't personally bet a single euro on it.

Most of the messages they get, for example ban appeals in certain things, aren't worth even reading. There's totally no point to answering them and even less point hiring more staff just because of them. They can handle the amount of customers, but they don't have any need to give a long&detailed answer to every post they get.

I assume you never played RSC. In the end of it there was a thing called fatigue which basically was the same thing as this. The results were so great that in the end Jagex even took away all rsc f2p worlds and stopped the ability to register to that game. Sorry, but this idea won't work and it has already been tested.

These forums are made for discussing. I hope we agree on that. However discussing without a counter option wouldn't be too fun or even useful in a long run. You could aswell talk to the mirror and record your own speaking so you could hear the same mantra over and over and agree to it everytime. Comparing these forums for street is like comparing RS to monopoly or cats to dogs: even tho they share common similarities, they are 2 different things. When you post to these forums, you pretty much put yourself into a role of a person who would want to talk about things. However when you walk at the streets, you are a person who goes from place A to place B and most likely isn't going to dicuss with others. Why? Even if million people agreed on something, it wouldn't mean it's the actual truth. Harder than cooking, definately. However it doesn't require almost any high skills to get, so at least I personally haven't seen a point completing useless and short quests with virtually no rewards just to wear a cape.

With bolts and others, this is rather expensive way to kill it. Of course it's a good alternative for those with high ranged and low melee skills, but if you can't take more queens with one trip using this than using veracs, I don't see a reason for this. However if someone gets statistic how much better/worse this is with 99 ranged when compared to 99 melee skills+veracs, it would be really helpful.

The price depends on supply and demand. Currently the supply for all guthans is pretty much the same, but demand is higher for spears as they are the ones you lose when you die. If you could protect the spear, it would affect to it's demand a lot and cause a drop in price. However that would also affect to the demand of other same set items, guthans in this case. The increased demand would rise their prices. Eventually we'd be in a state where all items from same set are worth pretty much the same because their supply is equal and demand will stay around the same: people would always protect the 3 most valuable ones and thus boost the demand of the cheapest. I don't really get your last sentence of 100k and 250k. The prices are set by players and their needs&ownings. They'd be flying like that for few days/hours until they were balanced to a situation where they currently are: everyone selling and buying for equal prices.

I only grew trees if I got them from nests, saved the few watermelon seeds I got and so on. At the moment I got herbs worth over 5m banked and super restores worth around another 5m. Here it is. Really few tree seeds used, only the ones I got myself and I stopped using my kingdom, so I can tell you it wasn't too many. Had to skill a bit today so this would be 2040th level. Speeded up the last 60k with strawberries as I got quite a punch of them for a rather cheap price. Took some time, but in the end I managed to get some tree and fruit tree seeds into my hands. This leveling is slowly getting slower and slower as there's so much to next level, but oh well... only 4 to go. Aah... Only 3 levels to go. Not much level wise. This level wasn't too painful as I stopped stressing about farming. Slowly comes the good. Getting so close that I just can't stop it anymore... Also bought bones to 95 pray today and tested few different ways to use them. Counted I could get 99 in under 2 days if I played 24/7. Thnik I'll do first 98 pray so I can get 126 combat and waste at least a week training it. At the moment rank 300 is approx 9160k xp. At the moment there's over 1 million xp between these 100 ranks, so I got a lot things to do. If I sold my bones and bought tree seeds, I would be able to get it in few days. However people are training and I'll buy bones for 98/99 pray before tree seeds, so I bet I'll need at least 9,5m, probably 10, to rank 300. For next few days/weeks I'll be spending a lot of time at abyssal demons. I need a lot of cash to fill my goals and abbys are pretty much the "least boring" way to earn extra millions. 23.4.2007 So... I now have enough bones to 126 combat and in last 2 days I've been breaking my personal records in the xp done in one day... In prayer that is :P How does this affect to my farming? Well, not at least negatively. I still got a lot of herb seeds (even tho soon going for worse ones if we only think about xp... but xp isn't the only thing) and now I can start using money on seeds. I said I got 126 combat banked, but as most of you know, that means lvl 98 pray. I'll now go for it (aim to get it at next friday or saturday) but without forgetting farming. Not sure should I now start going for mad xp or still keep working on other skills too (got 80 con for example banked atm) and slowly bump farming up with herbs and some occasional fruit tree or tree seeds. At this point I gotta thank those Seer bank dwellers who have sold me a lot of herb seeds. Even tho I've suffered from quite a lot of begging there, the seeds you've sold have helped me a lot. Thank you. 23.5.2007 Getting closer to top 300. Currently ranked 308th and just around 1k xp away from the rank 307. Also lacking 81189xp from 300, but knowing the other training people, I'll probably need aroung 120k xp more. Also just a bit over 20% left, exactly 2,888,228xp. That looks pretty good. Next update will probably be when I join the top 300 farmer club or get the percentage to 80%, depending which one comes first. Shouldn't take too long tho. 27.5.2007 Finally over 80% done, feels good. :P For rank 300 there was a quite big fight, but eventually I got some more xp and can now say I won't be pushed back to 300s anytime soon. Also level is coming soon, only 263229 xp left. 97-98 Will be horrible: not maxed after it so it's mentally harder but the amount of xp is pretty sick. Oh well I've gotten to this point, I won't give up. 31.5.2007 Been pretty stable at the hiscores. In the other words it means lack of training. The reason for this is simple: I've been doing dagannoth kings with one mate for few days. This means less attention paid on herbs and thus this kind of affect to the xp. Oh well at least I now can say I got a dk partner I can trust and I know I can actually kill them. Still got little things to practice and work on food:pot ratio. Anyways this fun way of making cash might pay back in future: who knows what will happen after few good drops ;) I also started a new blog on my whole rs things (all levels, clues, drops, etc) but it didn't really take air under its wings. Even tho I'm xp wise far from 98, I now got enough seeds to boost my training a lot. Haven't been bothered how close to 98 I can get with these babies, but the first dark bow drop should let me buy 99 easily if I don't feel like first saving for a new phat which would look better with farming cape than my current ones. Yea, I've been dropping in ranks and gaining xp slowly. That doesn't bother me as I'm back and stronger than for a while. Currently got 98 farm banked in good seeds (shouldn't take too long!) and as some of you already know, I was the first one ever to get a dark bow. Made an easy 50m out of it. Dunno how much will I invest on farming, tho. There would be other nice skills to train too... 14.6.2007 Fear the power of Hohto. Few days and I'll hit 98... After that I don't know what but who cares. Once I promise something, I do anything to fulfill it. Some of you didn't believe in me months ago, but I'm still kicking and doing pretty well. Soon watercan cape will be mine and I can take few other 99s too. Still a long way to Peter's xp's, but oh well... 17.6.2007 Once again I hit the level at around 1.00 am. Should probably plant my trees an hour earlier. Oh well only 1 more level to go and then my task's done. Would have gotten this level yesterday but ended up drinking with few mates so that changed my plans. Oh well, rather take a beer or 24 with mates than wait for the tree to be ready. Probably gonna start this level with a low speed and then do a big jump in the end like I did with 98. Gotta do some preparations before I can even take the last xp's from the spirit tree that has been in "check health" condition for almost 3 months now. Spent today "few" mils but not on skills. Was supposed to buy 25k yew logs for the fletching, but while being at w1 I also decided to get me something fun. Ended up buying an easter egg and a pumpkin. 18.6.2007 Been advancing slowly but surely. Been pretty busy with fletching, but getting closer. Currently around 860k to 99 fletch, so not much to go. Gonna bump it to around 13m xp and then do the same for prayer before starting mad farm training again. I seriously want to take all those 99 skills same time. Currently 1,073,176xp to 99 farm. Sounds awful and if you want to think it this way, it's as much xp as needed from lvl 1 to lvl 73 and we currently have around 10500 people with more xp than that. Freaky, eh? One magic tree gives 13,913.5xp (13,768.5 for checking health+145 for planting) so I'd need approx 77 magic trees if none of them died. If I paid 2k per coconut and hired the farmers to look at them, it would cost me 25*77*2k=3,850,000gp just to pay for the famers. Add 77*170k=13,090,000gp to that and you get a pretty nice sum. Expensive, aber leben ist... 21.6.2007 748,418xp to go. Gained an ok amount, but now gonna slow down for a while as I need to work on other skills too. Checked the heals from my last trees just a sec ago, but still got some palms and a handful of calquats ready. Pretty wicked skill this is indeed. Doesn't require a lot of clicking, can be profitable and so on... Including can turn you into a lunatic person who has spent tens of millions gp on magic trees :P Oh well back to construction... 24.6.2007 At the moment it looks like I won't take 2.1k total same time. Just haven't had any real motivation to train my weaker skills, not even if I have had all the materials to level them. To 99 farm I currently need only 560k xp more. For fletching I'm doing well. Around 370k to level now while writing things. With prayer I can't say I would have started real training yet, but I got an ace in pocket there ;) After these levels I don't exactly know what to do. Wouldn't be too far from all skils 90+, but rc or agility don't sound too great. 99 WC, fishing or slayer wouldn't be even that bad, but don't really know do I want them. Slay would take some time, but at least it wouldn't be as repetitive as the other skills. 90 Crafting or 9x smith wouldn't be that bad either. Not just pking. Imagine the huge price drop in guthan spears, if you could choose them to protect over anything else. It would have a rather profound effect on the economy, as the economy does rely on things vanishing from the game. For example, i died yesterday, lost full wizzy t. It didn't protect over my pic and one piece of iron ore. Now i lost that. If it protected over thanks to the system the topic is made about, then i wouldn't have to buy a new set, and one seller wouldn't recieve 470k cash for it. They couldn't spend that on x, etc. Classic example of the multiplier effect, and this is the point of the current system. Rare TT items, rares and other items considered rare don't protect over everyday items. Things such as this keep the economy cycling over. The economy would therefore recieve less need for items considered expensive, and the economy would begin to become a bit lop-sided, if my wizzy t (again the example) was to protect over my iron ore and pic. Thoughts? However when you lose something, someone usually finds it. Specially with wearable rares this happens. In the other words, the amount of items wouldn't reduce and demand would stay pretty much at the same. For barrow items it would most likely balance the prices. Of course people would protect the ones with highest street value, like guthan spears for example. However they'd lose other barrow items and thus higher the demand for "cheaper" ones. In other words, guthan spear would fall in price and others rise a bit. For wearable rares, their prices could actually rise because of this. Rares are more than just invests, they are status symbols. However most people don't want to lose their precious phats. If there was a way to be 100% sure that you can't lose it for a random event, there would be higher demand for them.

Imagine it from a lurer's view: take full rune+phat, choose to keep the phat and run around single wildy areas and drag people to your team. Jagex has said it in their rules that this isn't against the rules either.

What makes you smarter when you get "unneeded" levels instead of warriors for example? 99 att+str for example helps a lot more than 99cooking+fletching. For me fletching actually was my 8th 99 skill, taken a bit before farming and prayer for one reason: I wanted a triple 99 instead of double and fletching was obvious as it didn't even take any work. It's everyone's own choice what they do in this game. It's not away from me if someone takes 200m cooking xp, 99fletch+cook or stand decide to stand at Karamja fishing spot singing Elvis. However at the moment we are at forums discussing about 99fletch+cook. Good for you :P

It's good to see that majority of the politicians (votes went 223-201 for pulling the troops) are seeing that this thing should end. Even tho the current plans would make Iraq a satellite for USA, that's better than the current situation. Even tho Bush will most likely veto this (just few days ago he was seeing that they still got all the possibilities for a success in Iraq), it's a good sign so many politicians don't agree with it. Most likely the troops will be pulled when they get a new president: Bush has already failed miserably and most likely won't stop his visions because of political pressure as he got nothing to lose. With Iraq's current situation, anti-american feelings all around the globe, case Libby and many other mistakes only a success in Iraq would save Bush in history books. With poker terms he might go for all in with a weak hand and hope for the best. There's a huge a large history made from my mom's side of the family. Sums up over 1000 relatives, first ones from 17th century. Of course from earlier ones there's nothing much for obvious reasons, but the closer to today we come, the more information is about the persons. Basically from my mother's side I'm a pure blooded Finn with a proof. Many war heroes from that side, even some pretty high ranked ones. From my dad's side same kind of research isn't done, but it's known that from that side there was pretty wealthy swedish speaking people.
