The war in iraq, What do you think we should do?
How would you exactly do it? It isn't anymore anything like you see at Save private Ryan or other hollywood movies. The enemy is hidden, it strikes and vanishes again. If you went into a real massacre, it would be a political suicide, both nationally and internationally. Why? Because it would go mainly against civils as the troops aren't that organised anymore. IMO the best opinion would be withdrawing the soldiers slowly and setting up international peacekeepers. After the civil war is over, then take slowly those peacekeepers back home. Same strategy has worked in Balkan where was even bloodier wars and more cultures fighting. edit: Also wars don't just depend on numbers. We saw it in Vietnam, we saw it in Winter&Continual wars and we saw it when the Soviet Union attacked against Afganistan. Numbers help a lot, but there are few other factors in war too, here to name few which now at almost 1.00 am come to my mind. * Never underestimate the enemy. If you aren't fully prepared, you might soon find problems. * The one who knows the area better has an advantage. Vietnamese people knew their jungles, Finns were experts to live in cold conditions in the middle of nowhere and Afgans survived at the desert. * Keep the moral high. Iraqians are defending themselves and won't give up. If you can't offer anything for that, your have a bloody and long war ahead. Every time an Iraqia civil dies, they get more reasons to fight and defend their lands so others won't die.

I'm back, going for 6 99's. Say hi in my blog ^^
Graz, 97 mining is a huge accoplishment :o Also good job on getting p2p, pure f2p is a waste in my opinion. Might be cool in the eyes of those who can't afford 5$/month, but in the end you're just wasting time there :P

~Highway to hell~ <-85 Crafting -> 29.5.2007
Yea I remember :P I did a research of over 1300 seeds (can still be found somewhere around these boards) and the average was around 7. Currently I've seen people paying even up to 35k per for snappy seeds at forums. Of course you can get them for cheaper in game, but that way you can't get too many of them. Yea it's profitable, but like I said, I got other skills to train too :P However if I really wanted, I could easily bumb my farming xp to 20 million in no time, I got some hidden wealth in my bank.

~Highway to hell~ <-85 Crafting -> 29.5.2007
Hohto - Who or what? To get something out of this, it would be better for you to know me and a bit about my backrounds. I started my rs career in early 2001 and soon became interested in mining. My current mining level relates back to those days. In 2002 I became a moderator to these forums. We were under Dk3 forum software, tho. Later I became a global moderator which was at least in those days just next below the admin rank. I retired from that role in 2004 because of personal things: I didn't have motivation or time. You can still find my name from Tip.IT retired staff list. When rs2 came, I was one of the few who decided to stay in rsc. I believed it would have still stay a good game, but in the end it died. There was no reason to play a game which was played by few, autoed by many and cared by a handful of people. I did one pretty big move and went to rs2 with totally no items. All my items were in rsc. Even my current rsc bank would be worth hundreds of millions and if I hadn't bought 99 magic in rsc, I'd literally be a billionaire. Oh well, mistakes happen. Hohto in a nutshell * Started in 2001. * Been a tip.it global moderator. * Currently a player moderator. * 1400 total + 110 combat in RSC. * Only one in whole game who has gotten 99 magic and 90 mining 2 times on same character: in rsc and in rs2. 25.5.2007 Starting of the blog... Still a bit lacking material, but eventually there will be too much of it. In this blog I'm ready to discuss about leveling, drops, clues and pretty much everything that's related to RuneScape. If you got anything to say, even if it was negative thing, say it instead of keeping inside of you. I rather take honest feedback than just some random gibberish which is posted to every other blog too :P Today or tomorrow I should hit 85 herblore. That will be the first "real" picture to this blog. Been also planning to work a bit on hunter. Would have few easy levels there and currently it's sad to see it being that low. 27.5.2007 Made a little "banner" for this blog :P Yea I ain't no graphic guru, but it should at least somehow fit to the title. If you wanna know something about its backrounds, that's a polish bonfire. Did some crafting yesterday and currently I'm around 45k from 85 craft. If I felt like going to w2, you'd see that picture today. Might take it or I may not take it, depends about my mood. Also did some w66 rc today and was impressed: first time since the pure ess was introduced I went there and it worked like a train's toilet. 29.5.2007 Was slow with the levels :P Woke up yesterday with 40k to 85 craft and 30k to 82 runecraft, still I got them this night. Oh well better late than never. For 81-82 RC I mainly used w66 laws, just did the last 20k xp by doing my own laws and deaths. Crafting was pretty much only green dragon hides. Boy how bad it felt to run your own ess after doing some serious xp at w66.... Oh well at least I got some runes to my own use. The reason for slow training is pretty obvious: been trying to study dagannoth king hunting with one mate. One mudstaff so far, even tho that trip ended up to a catastrohpy. We're getting better and wiser after every trip, so beware: soon might come some nice drop pictures. Also if they turn out to be as profitable as we hope, you got no idea what levels or items will come up in future...

~Highway to hell~ <-85 Crafting -> 29.5.2007
For a while I've been thinking to set up a blog on my rs career. After positive feedback on my farming blog (url at the sig), I decided to go for everything. Levels, drops, clues, etc. For leveling pictures, I'll post them after I get a new skill to lvl 80, 85, 90 or 95 and when my total reaches a level which can be divided with 10, next one being 2070. After 2.1k total I'll post a new picture after every skill total that is dividable by 5, means after 2.1k the next one will be 2105. 99 skills will still get a new post, but I'll mention them here too and I won't abandon my 99 farm blog yet. :P To avoid long posts, I will use hide tags to hide the older pictures and only have the newest one up. The first reply is part of my diary where I will add stories every now and then. I'm splitting it into 2 different ones just to save the space. The emoticon limit is good in some cases, but not in this :P For hosting I'll use Imageshack instead of my own host. My own would be more stable, but I seriously don't want to waste my own space of bandwith as I will need it in future once I launch my own site. Level pictures: So finally got this level. Also had to take 2 chinch.... hunter levels to make it look even a bit better. Can thank farming for this. Would have gotten this weeks ago but got kinda sick of buying 2nds and wf vials so I sold thousands of herbs. Oh boy how many dragons were sacrificed in order to get this level. Oh well, they seem to breed quite often so no big deal. Clues: I will only do lvl 3 clues and I try to get a picture of every single one, no matter how good or bad the reward is. Clue updates won't be added to the subject unless I get 3rd age stuff, so remember to check the newest clue pic too every now and then :P The amount of pics coming depends pretty much on slayer, so sometimes I might get 3 pictures in a day and sometimes keep the same for 2 weeks straight. Drops: Here I will add only drops which are either dragon or something valuable. You won't see any key halves here. Dunno yet will I host whip drops as all the pics look pretty much the same so I could just host 1 picture 10 times here. First good drop from DK. That trip ended up to a catastrophy, but at least we learnt something... Hiscores (total level) Date / overall level / overall xp / rank 25.5.2007 - 2064 - 182,375,436 = rank 782 27.5.2007 - 2066 - 182,895,177 = rank 766 29.5.2007 - 2068 - 183,351,740 = rank 752 Future goals and finished things: 85 herblore = 25.5.2007 85/90 crafting 73/80 hunter 75/85 construction More will be added eventually. These are just the ones that now came to my mind. Ty for reading it to this point :) If you just got time, please read the next post too and write some comments.

the sol to the macro prob (problem solved)
* The best source to get herbs. - These herbs are used by herblorists to make potions. - These potions are used by pkers and stakers who use combat stats. = farming helps pkers. * People who train on certain monsters (many slayer monsters for example) get every now and then seed drops which can be sold for good money, look at snapdragon prices for example. = It gives cash to people training combat. Also, it's a skill just like strength, attack or defence. Just because you don't like it, it doen't mean others wouldn't like it either. I like farming pretty damn much. It doesn't? It did for me: * Gilded altar which is by far the fastest and almost the cheapest xp if we don't count buying normal bones or collecting by yourself. I got 98 prayer and just because of that. With ectoing I got sick after 82. * Armour stand to fix your broken barrow armors for a cheaper cost. * Free teleportation options. I personally just love home teletab while killing kq: takes 1 inv spot, brings me right next to an altar and I got a glory at the wall which is always ready to tele me to Al Kharid. Well above average, yet you haven't even really trained it. I wouldn't say you would have even had the first taste of it with that amount of xp you've gotten. Also have you ever wondered where pkers get deaths to pk with (ice barrage, anyone?), how do they get runes train their magic and so on. I personally got 99 magic in rsc and I would have been really happy if we had had rc there. Runes were pain in the backdoor to get in big amounts and if you wanted to collect them by yourself, it took ages. Once again: your idea won't work. Why? We already got bots that can flee from random events. Fleeing from a mugger wouldn't be any different. We already got autoers who train their melee skills, look at green dragons for example. No, they didn't immediately go with 1 1 1 stats to dragons -> low lvl melee autoing isn't impossible. If Jagex added some monstears near all skilling places, normal skillers would suffer more from it than autoers. They can always waste 2 hours on using their bots on chickens. Only thing it changes is that skillers got harder times and we can't report every lvl 3 immediately. Little hint: You could also learn even some slight things on writings. I hate reading a text without any single dot or a big capital. edit: You also said 26k for a monster might be good. Heck, I do on an average at least 100k more profit per hour on farming and in that I actually have to work for around 5-10mins unlike in combat skills.
-
a way to stop *some* autoers
SCAR isn't a bot, it's a scriptable color clicker. I don't think these programs are the real problem. Second, it wouldn't be too hard to take up the most common colors and make the script for look after them and the word "yew tree" or something.

the old, forgotten legends of rs
Didn't Pugxsi and Bluerose complete it quite early and worked as a team to do it?

1 year since construction, 6 months since hunter, new skill?
People are a bit too paranoid with updates. Heck, we just need someone in a quest saying even something that could be related to a new skill, a graphical update to an old city or this kind of date things and people link them together. Before you start collecting any materials that could be used in this skill, ask yourself these questions: * How long time gab there was between the combinating of magics and prayers to the release of fishing? * How long gab between crafting being released to the skill after that or before that? * How about for slayer, farming, agility or thieving? * When did Jagex promise player owned houses and when did we actually get them? * Do you have any proof or just wild guesses? * Do you see these signs in real life too? No, just because there was the number 666 in the 5$ you just got, it doesn't mean armageddon would come today or not even tomorrow. No, we most likely don't get a new skill within 2 months.

The war in iraq, What do you think we should do?
Nope, most likely won't stay like that and even if it would stay, we'll see a new generation of angry men who are ready to do anything, also known as terrorists.

The war in iraq, What do you think we should do?
I pointed out how this American imperialism pretty similar to the Soviet one. I already pointed out why it isn't a good example and I why would I need a better example for that? Just because I pointed it isn't a valid example, it doesn't mean I should make a better one.

Saddam's Iraq was the he only country in the Persian Gulf region not ruled according to Sharia :P

the sol to the macro prob (problem solved)
All npc and random events can easily be passed, so they wouldn't solve the problem.
-
The Economy: Current Rares
With acting I meant upsides and downsides in prices. We've already seen their price flipping up and down.

the sol to the macro prob (problem solved)
They can get over the current random events, so adding a new one would be like putting signs to the streets that you should not drive any faster than the other signs are already telling you. If you want to get rid of the autos, you gotta do some server side things, ie better macro detecting with weekly/daily randomizing. An instant ban right after a wrong packet is sent to the server would kill the bots pretty quickly as there wouldn't be a point to macro. All new random events and low lvl monsters won't do the trick as they are too easy to avoid. Those chinese skillers are already made just for one purpose: make some cash before they get banned. If you look at how they are created (same clothes, same kind of names, etc) you can notice that they aren't really there to avoid not to get banned. Our task would be to get them banned quickly enough that it wouldn't be worth it to create them.

The Economy: Current Rares
However they are ultimate rare and there's a real reason to use them: staking. Even slight advantage over the opponent will help in a long run and stakers who stake tens, maybe hundreds of millions at once won't hesitate to take the advantage. This means there will still be a huge demand for them in future, so I wouldn't be surprised if they acted like discontinued items for the next 9-15 months. Eventually they will get more stable and then start their slow going down, but with this supply and demand it won't be anytime in near future if Jagex doesn't give us new items to stake with.
-
The Economy: Current Rares
Clues are still worth it to do. Yea in most cases they give you something like a magic shortbow, 50 natures, 13 sharks and a rune hatchet, but still. 3rd age are ridicilous rare, but it doesn't change the fact that other items got their values too. You may not come a billionaire from clues, but I still don't throw them away and heck, I'm richer than 99% of the other users on these boards.

\../ Via Dolorosa \../ [78 con!] 2093/2277
23.5.2007 Getting closer to top 300. Currently ranked 308th and just around 1k xp away from the rank 307. Also lacking 81189xp from 300, but knowing the other training people, I'll probably need aroung 120k xp more. Also just a bit over 20% left, exactly 2,888,228xp. That looks pretty good :P Next update will probably be when I join the top 300 farmer club or get the percentage to 80%, depending which one comes first. Shouldn't take too long tho.

The war in iraq, What do you think we should do?
Where was the conspiracy theory? Comparing Japan to Iraq isn't too good example. First of all Japan has and had a big role in whole Asia. Totally occupying it would have caused major problems with other Asian countries including China and of course the Soviet Union who was also interested in Japan. Second, right after ww2 it would have been a political suicide to even risk having a new war. I never compared to you to Hitler's Germany. I compared your imperialism to the Soviet imperialism. If you can't see the similarities, it's your own problem. Fanatics or not, at the moment at least 64,000 and at max 70,000 civilians have died in military interventions in Iraq. That's right, civilians. Second, Iraq wasn't a home of religious fanatics. The history doesn't bring peace. It's the current conditions. You were the winners of WW2, you didn't have to rebuild your own country from scratches and you had the nuclear weapons. Include that to a big population with good natural resources. After that compare it to current Iraq. They are bombed to the stone ages, occupied by a hated country (go to the older wars and sanctions to find out why) and so on.
