  1. Tried RS yesterday stretched across two 20" screens, worked fine (Albeit a bit slow at times- My computer is getting older :/).
  2. Look, the shape is fine- It's the presentation that's lacking. You're just using Arial for a font, and the colors don't go well together. Let's make it simpler: Just a smooth slight gradient and Titillium semibold for the font. Or, we can make the gradient something a bit lighter: (Too light on a dark forum theme) Don't make it too complex. (On the other hand, simplicity should be the means and not the goal; There should be no point at which you can say that you have added enough nothing to call it finished).
  3. I don't consider myself a gamer (Never really have) and even I know this list is full of crap.
  4. ^ Hate the pentool in PS, incredibly counter-intuitive. One thing that GIMP did right.
  5. Haven't tried it with RS, I had a pretty smooth experience with Karmic + RS though.

Erratic, not erotic. Erratic, not erotic. I would say that the "TIF population" is "better" than the general population in the way that the vast majority of us live in first-world countries where, for the most part, there is access to good education.
  7. Can't you make an opacity map for the windows?
  8. This thing is tender like you wouldn't believe. Juicy, too. i.e. I don't really have anything to contribute.
  9. Yeah get rid of that JS block in whatever way you choose, should fix it. It looks like you're blocking most of the forum JS.
  10. What addons do you have?
  11. Works for me too.

Chaos looks good if it's done right IMO.

Nothing to say I guess other than that I really like your style, certainly original. :-)
  14. Yeah :| Of course, I believe that Blender has 4-5 paid developers right now, and will have ten more this summer. Blender is much bigger a deal than GIMP, which hasn't really done anything big for the last threeish years.
  15. I like the first one more, second is pretty cool but the aspect ratio kind of ruins it. Crop it wider.
  16. Why would you have to use a test server? I don't really know what the big deal with Dreamweaver is, if I want live previews of CSS changes, I can do that in Firebug. I still have slightly broken PS CS3 on Windows, and I don't really use either. If it can't be done in GIMP, it can be done in Inkscape. Been a while since I really actually used PS. So yeah, unless money appears out of the void into my hands, I'm not getting it. I don't get what's taking the GIMP developers so long, though; If you compare their development pace with that of Blender's, you really start to wonder what on earth is (Or rather isn't) going on with GIMP development.
  17. I have changed the color scheme almost entirely, It's very broken right now. Added a footer, started positioning the logo, made lots of other changes. Took some suggestions into consideration. I personally like the lighter approach I took to this color scheme, I think it works much better and makes it look more modern.
  18. The difference is not "Web 2.0" or not, the difference is basic graphic design. IPB's designers go with the flow too- It's just that they go too much with the flow and they're four years late to the glossiness fad. Even Apple is past that, they now use smooth slight gradients and flat colors, with the exception of program icons and a few other things.
  19. ^ I disagree strongly on your first point. IPB looks like it was designed by Fisher-Price, with all the unnecessarily big glossy bars everywhere.
  20. Yeah, the ACP is certainly confusing at first, but once you get used to it you can use it really well. IPB doesn't seem as flexible (Like the way that you can't make so that users can make polls in one forum but not another).
  21. I find vBulletin to feel very old, and lacks some basic UI logic.
  22. PM a mod and they can add one for you. My favorite forum software is phpBB, I've made a few skins for it (Including one that TIF used to use before the switch to IPB) and it is an absolute pleasure to theme. The CSS is incredibly elegant. I've been a more or less real mod on it here, and more of a fake admin on countless local installations.
  23. 8.04 is actually the release that I have the best memories of, but it was the first one that I actually got... I had my uncle around who had been around since the UNIX dark ages to help me out though. Restarting now, it took quite a bit to upgrade all those packages (I did gksudo update-manager -d instead of a clean install which I plan to do for 10.10).
  24. You don't need to change any cookie exception settings. Yguy's solution works fine, I did that myself.
  25. So Ubuntu 10.04 came out yesterday, I'm about to start the upgrade process. I've updated a laptop already, but needed my computer yesterday. I didn't get the boot speed boost that was promised (10 seconds), but audio is much more stable- The realtime kernel is fixed and audio ran great on that laptop. Get it here :-)
