My favorite quote on the matter: "Being immature is a part of being mature".

Are you still doing these? I could use a logo to help present this web design: (Obviously still a lot to do. I haven't even bothered positioning the logo, which is the text that says "COMPANY") Come up with whatever name you like, pretty much. If you have time to do this, that is.
  3. jus 4 u stevie
  4. Yeah it's obviously not very hard. Welcome back. :-)
  5. Behold, CSS polygons: A Study of Regular Polygons It looks very boring until you realize that none of the shapes on that page are images.
  6. First off, things to ignore: The logo ("COMPANY"), I haven't styled it at all The colors, I'm still looking for suggestions there The sidebar that's bright red, I haven't styled it at all except for the color so that it's visible The links (About us, contact us or something) at the top, I haven't really styled those either Like I said in the title this design is highly experimental. I used no images at all in the CSS of this design; The polygons are using an obscure CSS trick and the gradient and font are CSS3. I will update this, I'm working on it right now. This is for my last work in Visual Art class at school, so I'd like lots of CC please. :-)
  7. I'm working on a website I believe I mentioned here before, but I'm going to start a whole new thread for it in just a second...

^ Really? I find that punching is almost always complete overkill and I end up hitting the 6m (~20ft) ceiling in our gym.
  9. Confession: I'm freaking horrible at writing letters and thank you notes. I have so many unanswered, I answered two from my birthday (About a month ago) today. I have a letter from probably more than a year ago unanswered. Gah.

I may have something for you next week- I'm doing some web design as my last visual art project for school. The style reminds me a bit of the Nokia "Prism" series of phones: By next week I should have the actual design more done though.
  11. I think most compilers leave basic debugging information, which includes the names of files the executable was created from. On Linux anyway. But my best guess is C/C++ as I believe that's what the Windows APIs are written in.
  12. I put it at the end, I kind of felt that it should be earlier, but I wasn't sure that that would be the correct order in which to read the guide. You're right, my guide is almost completely theoretical.
  13. Didn't know what 420 meant until this thread.

I became obsessed with dental hygiene this year when I found out I had to go to a dental checkup. Before that my brushing policy was... Bad. Now it's two times a day, and mouthwash/floss once a day.
  15. You could be hard pressed to get HD playback out of a netbook, I know I've tried without much success (But that was with built in intel graphics). If you need a really serious performance media player, get Mplayer (Which is Free/open source).
  16. In that case I suggest you check that GIMP is actually checking those folders. Open GIMP, go to Edit->Preferences, click on the arrow by the icon on the bottom that says "Folders". The first option in the expanded list should be "Brushes", click on that. There it should have a list of all the folders where it searches for brushes, you can also add your own folders for it to search.
  17. Go to the folder called .gimp-2.6 in your home directory, under that directory there should be a folder called "brushes". Paste all the brushes in that directory, I'm not sure if GIMP searches subfolders for brushes so that could be your problem too. Restart GIMP and they should appear with all the other brushes.
  18. I'm doing some web design for school (My final piece for art class), I'll post some screenshots when it's closer to being done, making some good progress though. Lol it's so funny how nobody in my class thinks that they could possibly comprehend web design, you should have heard the superlatives being thrown around. Imagine if I- *Gasp!* wrote a program in class!
  19. Sorry, only cool people can have underscores. Rainy only has one because he paid the admins, which also explains his rank.
  20. And yet your account was made back in early 2008? O_o I made my account when I was 12... COPPA doesn't apply here. I suppose that's my excuse. I actually was going to make an account in 2005, but I kind of made myself almost follow the 13+ rule so I waited.
  21. Lol are you the Lenin I remember? But he's all grown up now! :3
  22. Get your neighbors together and think about it a bit, maybe organize one night where someone sleeps in each of the cars. A camera isn't a bad idea either.
  23. Use the pentool to make a curve, use the text tool to make text, and then press the button in the text tool "Text along path". This will give you a path that you can stroke or fill to make the bent text.
  24. For this minority stuff, I'm a minority of a minority. American Swedish-speaking Finn (A minority here). Linus Torvalds is the other way around. OT has taught me not much other than that you should always take the time to type properly, people take you much more seriously. And that, uhhh, pretty much nothing else. I did find deviantArt through here too though.
